I’m getting the new ones but I have a question: how do I tell from seeing the box if they are the newer version and the store employee isn’t trying to sell me the 1st gen? is there any description out on the box that states the H1 chip or something? please do let me know! - I would rather be able to spot the difference right from the box BEFORE making any purchase. I've seen lots of videos showing the trademark stuff and none of them show any sort of details that can indicate they are the new ones. Thanks

I'm new to AirPods. Thought that they would connect automatically to the device I'm using. I use my iPhone, iPad and MacBook frequently during the day, it would be nice that they would connect to my MacBook automatically when the iPad and iPhone screens are locked and viceversa. If I close the MacBook, leave the house with just the iPhone, when I take out the AirPods, I'll see the popup on the iPhone screen, but I will not get audio until I go to the control center (or bluetooth menu) and manually select them. Is this their correct behavior or am I doing something wrong?
zollotech no they told mkbhd the sound is exactly the same, what people are hearing are the old ones had dirt and wax which makes sound slightly of, im a audio mixer and i tried hard to find a difference and there isnt
I believe MKBHD, but their website says it has higher quality sound and myself and other audiofiles can hear a difference. Most people won’t notice it though, but I could hear it when I listened back to back to the first gen va second gen.

And now I watch this video, and reconnection between iPhone and Mac is the same slow hell. Well, I think I stuck with EarPods for now...

Do airpods microphone work with whatsapp calls? Because surely you can't record the voice messages with airpods microphone. The phone microphone records it.

warfare112593 My battery life is still at 100 percent an I got my iPhone XS Max the first day it was out it gets a little warm but not hot I have the Samsung 10 watt wireless charger an have had no issues

The galaxy buds have better bass for sure, and probably sound better, but I would have to test them back to back to tell you for sure. However I don’t like earphones that seal in your ear.
I own the 1st gen I don't think it's worth it to get the 2nd gen. However, I think it is worth it to get the wireless charging case. Also, APPLE WHERE IS AIRPOWER?

Yes, they don’t Work well with my Mac or MacBook. They constantly have interference. So far the second generation seem a little bit better, but that doesn’t mean they would be that good with the older hardware. I’ll keep that in mind for a later review so I can test it with the older Mac devices
and yea as i read in comments, background is nice but also keep changing it with sporty orange blie etc. matte contra colours in case of black products but definitely never White. Nice easy video 👍🏻

I think maybe they sound clearer because they’re new and you’re used to used AirPods. Maybe try comparing brand new AirPods 1&2 side by side

If you don’t have iOS 12.2 you will not get all the features
