- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- Follow me on a short but busy flight from Danbury (KDXR) to LaGuardia (KLGA) in a King Air B100. The procedures in the cockpit are explained. ATC is recorded live.
Enjoy!
Guido, I am a King Air SIM Instructor at FlyRight. My single pilot experience was in A-7DII Corsairs and general aviation in quite a few Beech Aircraft's. Just retired from American Airlines. Your handling of this flight, your cockpit management, checklist procedures, situational awareness, attention to details and judgment was and is excellent. Learned a few things from this flight, thanks. Safe flying!!
Thank you!
Coming from you, this words mean a lot to me.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I hope he understands compliments from a Tail Hooker carries a lot of weight :)
your professionalism is outstanding. Thank you for sharing the video, very instructive esp. regarding task management in single pilot ops. Thanks
Thank you for your kind words, Ivo.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Awesome, it's always nice when professional pilots post videos like this. Gives people a good idea of what flying is actually like. Far better than the "training" videos posted all over RUclips.
Take note student pilots, this is how it's done.
Thank you very much, Alex.
There are a lot of videos on RUclips, and many with much better sound and video effects than my videos.
i try to keep it simple and focused on the flying.
I am flying a Citation Jet over the Atlantic from the USA to Estonia, so there will be hopefully plenty of interesting videos coming out from that flight...
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Very Professional, as always, Captain!!
Thank you Francis.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Good stuff - I have huge respect for guys like you who fly single pilot, multi engine IFR ops!
Thank you very much!
Single pilot IFR is quite challenging and requires a good cockpit organization.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
I learn something from every one of your videos. Thanks for posting.
Only my pleasure!
Flying is a never ending learning process. That makes it so interesting.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Thank you!
Flying is a constant, never ending learning process.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Quickest 23 minutes ever. Completely engrossing video. Thanks for posting
Thank you!
The King Air is in fact very easy to fly.
It is like a 172 on two engines.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I love watching a pro at work! I have been licensed since 1970 and in almost all your videos I pick up another 'trick' to add to my knowledge base, thanks!
Thank you Mr. Gardner, that's every kind of you.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I've watched just about all of your videos Guido. You are a stunning pilot, and it sure is great to watch a fellow aviator do what you do best! Safe flights!
Thank you very much, Riley!
I am just a well trained pilot and I learn something on every flight.
If that learning process stops, it is time to retire.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Your videos are extremely valuable to pilots of all experience levels. Reading checklists aloud when flying single pilot speaks volumes to your discipline, desire to lead by example, and most importantly your humility. Really great, thank you for taking the time.
Thank you very much for you kind words, Adveniotu.
This is very motivating for me to hear that the videos are not only entertaining but also educational and helpful.
It takes a lot of times and efforts to make these videos.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Amazing video!!! I love the initial takeoff and climb. It is an incredible experience and I would love to learn how to fly some day!
+Missy J
Thank you!
Go to your nearest flight school and ask for an introduction flight. They offer this quite inexpensive and you get and idea what flying is all about.
Warning: may be addictive.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I used to work at Buffalo Wild Wings right next to the airport. I live very close to Danbury. Small word.
Guido, I am an instrument rated commercial pilot and I still learn a lot by watching your videos. Your procedures are flawless!
You are the most thorough and professional pilot I have ever seen. You make every flight so interesting. Thank you Sir!!!
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Guido
I love this channel. Studying in University, these are refreshing and keep me thinking flying when I can't actually fly
Thank you!
Make sure you don't get too much distracted from your studies...
Happy Landings,
Guido
I have that same avionics package in a Caravan I fly in the Bahamas..very nice.
Thank you!
I enjoy that Garmin 750 a lot.
Lucky you - flying in the Bahamas... :-)
Happy Landings,
Guido
InstaBlaster...
Guido,
Love when you fly alone, allows you to "talk to us" and explain what you're doing. Very informative, and very helpful with my IFR training! Stay safe!
-Mitch
Runway 22 is the best approach to NYC on a very clear day when arriving from the West or points South. They ride along the eastern perimeter of Staten Island, up the mouth of the Bay and Hudson River offering a great view of most of New York and the best perspective of the downtown cluster and midtown skyscrapers before banking over lower Westchester County or The Bronx. That low altitude over the East River as it meets The Sound can be quite scary for people not familiar with NYLGA approach. Only 7,000 feet per runway. Not a lot of run! And that's with the extension you see compared to the 1930's through the 1960's before they elongated it.
as a retired A&P mech. and some times student pilot - I enjoy watching your videos very much - most of my flying these days is done in FSX (due to age and health) ,but I still enjoy trying to get from A to B using proper procedures.Thank you again. And to all your young viewers - GET YOUR RATINGS
Amazing video!! awesome flying mate!
Thank you!
Happy Landings,
Guido
I am another one that really likes the informative video's that you produce on your channel, thanks.
Thank you Clive-Albert!

This video shows the start process of the B100:
King Air 100 flight - real time cockpit view with ATC!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido, how are you? I've had a talk with one of the crew member I flight with. He said something that I need to verify; and knowing that you are a skilled pilot, I would like to ask you a question based on this scenario: I am flying towards the airport, in a IFR flight plan. upon reaching the class C airspace the controller starts giving me vectors to the ILS approach. On both NAV1 and NAV2, I have the VOR frequency with the Final approach course on my HSI. When is the exact moment when I am suppose to change from the VOR Frequency to the ILS Frequency?
Jose Sosa Hello Jose,
The moment you get radar vectors you are released from you previous route.
This is the point where I would switch both NAV receivers to the ILS frequency. This gives you also the time to verify and identify the correct frequency and to set the inbound course of the LLZ on the HSI.
If you have loaded an approach in a GPS (for example Garmin 430), this would also be the time to "activate" the approach.
The more you are ahead of the airplane, the better.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Thanks Guido Warnecke , that is what I thought about it too; sadly I was confused when my co-worker told me something different. I needed to clarify that.
Happy Landings
Jose Sosa
Jose Sosa No problem, Jose!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Pretty close to me?? 😳 (3 block away)LGA
Amazing video to watch before my IFR exam. Really shows you the right cockpit attitude. Great flying, Great Pilot!
Thank you!
Best of luck for your IFR exam.
Happy Landings,
Guido
After watching a lot of you videos Im wondering, Which plane do you like the best? I know a lot of pilots that rather fly the King Air than anything else, Knew a guy that had a choice of a Cessna Mustang, 440 and the King Air, and he would, ever flight, take the King Air.
+worlock1422
I do not have really a preference.
I like them all...
Happy Landings,
Guido
Fantastic videos. I'm a student pilot (US PPL) and seeing a pilot so calmly and professionally flying is a great learning aid. Please keep the videos coming!
@@GuidoWarnecke It did, thanks! I’m a CPL now. Joined a great flying club a few years ago. CFI is next.
Hi Guido..I need a honest answer from you..What is your "lieblings" small plane out there??
Willem P There is no hones answer here...
I like the C210 a lot.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido Warnecke Let me google that...thanx Guido.Happy landings..
Dear Sir, this is beyond clear for up and coming pilots, helps alot. Much appreciated
Only my pleasure!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Watch this with the captions on, hilarious!
J'ai pas vu vos 4800 vidéos, mais assez, pour vous dire BRAVO !!!!
Je pilote sur un B100, depuis un moment, que du plaisirs, en Europe et Afrique.
Awesome Video :) Very Neat :)
God willing I am a Future Pilot, So these Videos Inspire me and Give me a Good interest :) God bless you! :)
Thank you!
As a follow up: could you get a pilot's license in the meantime?
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
By far the most professional flight on a executive/private plane, respect Captain!, keep up the hard work!.
I'd love to be in that right hand seat and promise I wouldn't say a word unless you spoke to me. :)
Thank you!
Modern cockpits philosophy (CRM) requires that the right seater is part if the team...
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido, thank you for videos like this. I am currently in IFR ground school and will begin flight training in January. Videos like this help me see what it will actually be like in the air and not just picturing it while I am on the ground. A very helpful tool. A great job as always!
Thank you Charles. All the best for your IFR training. You will enjoy it. It brings you to the next level of flying.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I am a frequent watcher and am subscribed I cannot tell you how much I learn from and appreciate your videos they are so well done and enjoyable having taken a few lessons and being a real aviation enthusiast I really love them even more Please keep posting It is the next best thing to being there Thanks Karl
2027SpcOdyssey KJ2 Only my pleasure Karl.
I hope you can fly more in the future.
Happy Landings,
Guido
This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing this! Great camera angle allowing us to see how skilled and safe you are. Good work!
Thank you very much,. Leigh!
It is all about flight safety. Nothing else matters.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I really enjoy watching Captain Warnecke's videos again and again. I wish I could have trained to be a pilot, no disrespect to myself I know I don't have the intelligence. I have only flown twice, first time in a Robinson R44 Helicopter, the second time in an Airbus with British Airways to Madrid. Captain Warnecke makes it look so easy having said that I wouldn't have any idea where to start. Thank you so much for uploading Sir.
Thank you for watching my videos. I hope they give you some entertainment and joy in aviation.
Happy Landings,
Guido
@@GuidoWarnecke Thank you so much Captain Warnecke.
Captain Warnecke,
It is so enjoyable to watch your videos. The professionalism is inspiring. And I particularly like how you insert text here and there to point out interesting things. I'm flying only singles at this point, but I know that by the time I start to transition to multi, I'll have a good idea of how to handle things the professional way, thanks to you. Please keep them coming, sir.
Thank you very much, Bill!
Best of luck for your multi-engine rating and whatever might come after that.
Be aware that twin engine aircraft are not necessarily safer than single engines. A lot of pilot skills (and sometimes pure luck...) are needed to manage an engine out situation in a light piston twin.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Thank you for sharing your flight with us.
Your excellent organization and professionalism are very much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Dir auch.
Awesome videos! I love the cockpit view. My grandfather flew his entire career with Eastern Airlines. I love hearing his stories. Only flown a plane once on an intro flight, would love to fly more.
Thank you Grant.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Love your videos, I like how you notate all of the important information to keep track of. Thanks for sharing! Very knowledgeable.
Thank you.
Happy Landings,
Guido
All non memorized, all Checklist by the book.I love it. Very professional and on point by FAA part 91.Good job. Can't wait till i get my Instrument.
Thank you for Videos.
Thank you Andres.
Hope you will get your IFR ticket soon. You will not regret it.
Happy Landings in 2015,
Guido
BRAVO! Thank you so much for that detailed flight. I really enjoyed seeing all that a pilot has to accomplish before during and after takeoff. Now I understand why you rated on different engine classes. Please keep these great videos coming!
Thank you very much, Bill!
A new video is currently in the works. It takes a lot of time to do these...
Happy Landings,
Guido
Great Video, Magic in the Cockpit. Watching all come together.
Thank you!
Somehow I missed this video before. Excellent as usual! Enjoyed the inflight commentary and the way to stay ahead of the airplane. Well done!
Thank you very much!
Happy Landings,
Guido
I really appreciate watching how you manage flow especially when single pilot. I'm just now getting back into flying after a 7 year hiatus and will be flying a Phenom 300 single pilot. Your videos are well done and instructive.
Thank you, Stephen.
Single pilot flying is easy as long as you have a well organized cockpit and prioritize your tasks.
Trying to do all at the same time calls for trouble.
And use automation as much as possible especially in a fast and powerful aicraft like the Phenom 300.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Hey Guido,
Found your vids tonight and wanna say thanks, they're a really great look at flying the King Air! I'm just finishing up my instrument rating after 600 hours of pipeline and excited to join the IFR world in the (hopefully) near future. I find myself constantly talking myself thru checklists while flying single pilot and it's cool to see guys doing it at a higher level than a simple C172. I like how you stop yourself from becoming distracted during taxi, I find I do get ahead of myself occasionally while doing a simple taxi I've done hundreds of times. Gotta focus on just slowing it down and hitting the rhythm.
This was a great learning experience, and I caught myself saying "check 3 green" right before you called it out haha! Thx for the great vids and fly safe.
Thank you for your kind words.
Best wishes for your flying career. You paid your dues with the pipeline flying, but now it's time to immerse in the "real" flying. The instrument rating is the right way.
Please keep me posted on your progress.
Happy Landings,
Capt. Guido
Thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, keep up the great work!
Only my pleasure, William!
Happy Landings,
Guido
I have completed all my theoretical studies for my ATPL and am about to start my IR and ME ratings. I must say your videos are extremely well made, very enjoyable and last but not least very informative.
Keep up the good job.
GREAT Video. We (my partner and I) are starting our IFR training. We started watching you when we started our private pilot training together.
Thank yo very much, Mikey!
You guys are doing the right thing. The instrument rating will make you safer pilots.
All the best & happy landings,
Guido
Love your videos. I have always wanted to see a cockpit view and I loved riding along.
Thank you very much, Jimmy.
Happy Landings,
Guido
I am a new watcher of your videos and although I will probably never fly myself I am having a great time just watching you flying! Oh yes the reason I won't fly is because I am Disabled from a Stroke!
Happy Landings!
Manny.
+starbase five
Thank you!
I am glad you liked the video.
Happy landings,
Guido
+Guido Warnecke Oh Okay thanks for your response I love airplanes I have been trying to find a pilot that could help another pilot who almost list his arm in a car wreck and needs help getting to a hospital that would fix him up so he could fly again! So I began watching flight Videos and I liked your videos the best because you are a professional pilot and the other videos are all amateurs!
The Pilot's name is Jaime Martinez and he use to fly out to the islands off Honduras! He lives in San Pedro Sula.
Again thanks for your time and consideration with the message!
kindest regards and Happy Landings,
Manny.
Great to see all the procedures that i have learned during my IFR training being implemented at all of your flights sir, its a great deal flying these twins I myself had the joy of completing my IR/CPL on a DA42. Happy Landings Sir. No aeroplane is ever too simple for any pilot of age or experience.
Chrysidoros Menelaou
Than you!
So all the training and reading books for the IFR training makes finally sense.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Guido, this is a fantastic video! I fly commercially out of Australia and its great to see how universal the radio procedures and callouts are.
Very well done, and very professional with good airmanship. Thanks for sharing with us!
Great video. I don't comment on many videos, but I have to comment on yours. Very well done all the way around - piloting, audio, video, notes, etc. Thank you for putting them together and sharing with us. I know each one requires plenty of time and effort on your part. Much appreciated!
Giddy Guido. This is one of my favourites so far. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with the rest of us.
Guido you are an excellent pilot! Everything is executed by the book, and with confidence and appropriate caution in equal measure. I would happily be your passenger any day.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Brad.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Wow, Found my new favorite channel. Wonderful and informative video. Thanks Guido. Very enjoyable!!!
Thank you very much for watching my videos!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Guido I'm glad I came across your videos. I subscribed. I've been a private pilot since age 17, I'm now 49 and miss flying.
Thank you David!
I hope you get a chance to fly more.
Happy Landings,
Guido
It's remarkable how many different aircraft you fly and operate professionally . I only operate 747-400 and -8. The differences there are quite enough for me!
Pere Davison It is sometimes a challenge. If I habe not flown a type for a long time I prepare myself well, read the books and sit in the cockpit before I leave on a ferry flight.
Happy Landings,
Guido
A pleasure to fly with you. Takeoff and landing fantastic. Excellent pilot.
Thank you for "flying with me", Luis!
I am just a very well trained, very disciplined pilot.
Nothing more, nothing less...
It is long process to become a senior, safe pilot. It requires a lot of discipline and sometimes a stubborn character to follow you own ideas and principles.
What I try is to share my own experience and all the faults and mistakes with my fellow, junior pilots. I can only hope they do better than me!
Thank you very much for watching my videos!
Happy landings,Guido
Very professional, clear, and informative. Thank you for sharing. The standard you showed here is what all of us pilots aim for :)
Thank you very much, Faisal!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Well done as usual Captain. I appreciate the constant reinforcement of checklist discipline.
Thank you Matt!
Don't be a "slave" of you checklist, but use the list to back up your actions.
Happy Landings,
Guido
One sure learns a lot from your videos. Great work!
+Josue De Paz
Thank you, Josue.
I hope the videos are entertaining too.
Happy Landings,

+Guido Warnecke They are, that's for sure.
Your videos are fantastic I cant praise them enough
Thank you very much!

Thank you for the video Captain!
You are very welcome, Massimo.
Happy Landings,

What an amazing airplane, and great piloting! Entertaining and informative at the same time!
The King Air B100 is a remarkable airplane.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Love your videos Guido. Very professional, very smooth, always calling out checks. Just starting my lessons at 49 yrs of age. I hope to be that smooth one day myself. Please keep them coming. Love to see on in the 172 ;)
Thank you very much, Andy!
It is never too late to start flying!
All the best for your training & happy landings,
Guido
Great job. Really appreciate the time you spent preparing and delivery this segment! thanks!
Thank you very much, David!
Happy Landings,
Guido
I'm totally inspired by your professionalism and your piloting skills. Your videos are pleasure to watch.
Safe flying!
Thanks for the start up video!!! Loved this video!!! Seeing that you uploaded a new video almost made my day!!!
Another awesome video. Did my commercial single engine checkride there! DPE was Chauncey (can't remember his last name) Great times! Your videos are truly inspiring me! Thanks!
+David Timothy
Thank you, David!
The check air man is Chauncey Webb. A well respected person in the industry.
Happy Landings,
Guido
That's him! really great guy!
Mr. Warnecke,
Thank you for letting me "tag along" on your flights, i find very interesting as i love flying but just can't afford to at this time. I've subscribed to your channel here and plan on hanging around for awhile.
LaGuardia. Brings back memories form the College of Aeronautics. :) Love your videos Captain!
Thank you!
Happy landings,
Guido
Excellent videos, Guido. I've been flying for about a year and a half and have yet to come across your kind of professionalism. Thanks for introducing me to IFR!
Thank you very much, Nick!
IFR is perceived widely as "too difficult". I have to admit when I started my IFR training it was the same for me.
Once you start using IFR it suddenly all makes sense and it is a so much safer flying.
If the videos bring across this message - mission accomplished.
Thanks for watching my videos & happy landings,
Guido
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Excellent job, enjoyed your video. thank you sir.
Only my pleasure!
Thank you.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Hi Guido
Another great video Thank you!
It really is good for those of us who have a lot less flying hours than you.
We all have to start somewhere.
I really enjoy your videos please keep doing them
Many thanks Guido, a great flight from start to finish. Your attention to detail and explanation of procedures is really interesting and a big help...keep up the fine work...regards Michael
Thanks again for another great video. I just started my instrument phase of flight training and watch your videos for proper phraseology and cockpit management.
Guido, Nice and thanks for posting. You making flying a King air look easy. I have 205 hours in a 172 SP and learning the G1000. Keep on posting and flying!!!!
Thank you!
I am a German, lived 6 years in South Africa and since 2008 in the USA.
This makes this mixed up accent....
Happy Landings,
Guido
Thanks. On the other hand I am really amazed what you guys pull off in the flight sim community. Very realistic!
Happy Landings,
Guido
Great to see a smaller plane land at LGA! It's happening a bit more often now with the decrease in traffic but you were lucky to be able to fly in back in 2013!
You are correct Peter.
That is the only good thing about Corona. Traffic is down.
Typically we tried to avoid the big airports in the NY metro area and use Teterboro, White Plains and may be Farmingdale and Morristown.
Happy Landings,
Guido
Another great video Guido, I really enjoy watching you at work, always interesting, educational and professional. Thanks so much.......Jim
Great video again as always. Thanks for taking the time to do these, we appreciate them.
Hi Guido,
I only fly with Flight Simulator X. Watching your videos helps me to keep my FSX flights as real as possible. I enjoy all your videos. Keep them coming. Thanks
Jim
Thank you, Jim.
I am glad the videos help. I am always amazed, what the flight sim community puts together, very professional.
Happy Landings,

Your are the best arplane professional pilot in the World. Good job man.
Thank you very much, Marinos!
I am just a well trained pilot.
Happy Landings,

A true professional....Excellent job.
Thank you for uploading.

My favorite destination -KLGA! Good vid, nice, stable approach!
Thank you.
A stable approach normally leads to a safe landing.
Happy Landings,

Very nice flying Guido. That King Air looks really fun to fly, it is one of my favorite aircraft and the first turbine I learned to fly (B200), out of a very tiny airstrip on the west coast. Cheers!
Thank you!
I agree the King Air is a great aircraft.
Thanks for watching my videos & Happy Landings,
Guido
One more beautiful video Capt. Simply inspiring. Thank you very much for your efforts. Blue skys and happy landings, Beyazit
Another great video from a great tutor, yours videos are so informative what with your commentary and comments in the video themselves. Looking forward to the next one already! ~ Guy
Thank you very much, Guy!
More videos are in the works.
Happy Landings,

Love your videos Guido , and also thanks for information on engines.
Thanks for the great video! Loads of important information I can use for my King Air Systems Simulator that I am working on at the moment!!!

You are very welcome, Andrew!
I was enrolled in VATSIM for a while and quite impressed what can be done nowadays.
Happy Landings,

This is exactly what I needed to get back into to cockpit. Thank you
+Kurt Jardine
Very good!
I saw your comment only now. Are you back in the cockpit?
Happy Landings,
Guido
I hope to do this someday! As a student pilot, I find your videos very interesting. Thanks for sharing them! I'll see you in the air!
Isaac
Thank you very much, Isaac.
i do no see any reason why you should not be able to do this.
Best of luck for your flight training and for your flying career!
Happy Landings,

Congratulations Cap. Guido and thanks for the videos! I used to fly in the US and really miss those skies! Hope I can come back some day. Have great flights my friend!
I enjoyed your video was awesome to see the flight of a king air!
Thank you!
The King Airs are the best aircraft in the turboprop class.
