Totally agree on the Eley hose reel. I was the winner on your “1 Chip Challenge” video, so Thank You! It’s awesome!!! Sure beats the crap out of the plastic boxes they sell at Lowe’s. And now my wife has ventured into Dahlia’s. It’s like my yard has become Connor Ward East! 🤣 Just kidding, my lawn can’t come close.

I'm a 33 year old guy and I take care of my GF dahlias after her hip surgery. I grew up taking care of rose bushes for my grandmother and did my parents as well. I take care of her flowers for her since her surgery in April and her brothers recent passing a few weeks ago. Really enjoying my time with them. Of course since I'm from Texas, we have different kind of dahlias but pretty nonetheless! I enjoy your dry sense of humor and insight on landscaping over the years

Yes, a freshly mowed lawn is memorizing. Last week I overseeded and put down some petemoss. Topdressing planned for next season.

Bought an Eley off your link last year and love it. Especially the hose, top quality. Just found an older Ecolawn 100 with a new tub and the Honda engine. Drove 3 hours each way to pick it up. It is the greatest. Only does compost, but that is fine. Thanks for all the info you've given out over the years. Cheers.

We have 12 different varieties now. 6 came from swan island this year… only 5 still live though… dogs got 1 chasing the squirrels. Lawn and garden look amazing buddy keep it up.
I feel you 1000% on time just slipping away this year. I really wish I could slow down and just do the things that I love and make me happy. But bills dont pay themselves.

Turf and dahlias look amazing, what’s your secret with the dahlias? My dahlias are not doing very good this year. It’s been super hot and dry!! I’m sure that hasn’t helped. Enjoy your videos.

The JOY is in doing!! Yup.. # yrs ago I grew 3 dalhias, This year up to 38.. Mostly dinnerplates but i have learned to feed the "Connor" way with Furt blue water every week. Good to see this vidio and the turf looks amazing as well....rex,N W va....
yep.. you feed regularly.. you will have amazing flowers. Its a ton of fun and the results of the blooms are AMAZING

Hey Connor, love seeing your dahlias, my wife and I share your obsession. Your likely pretty maxed-out on varieties but if your looking for and new additions, check out Diva and Bahama Mama, they are two of our favorites. Good luck with all the projects.
I have both of those varieties. My Bahama Mama has not bloomed yet as I put it in a bad place. The Diva I had last year and I know I planted some this year but I can not seem to find them.

When I lay the sod, do I make the soil and my concrete sidewalk flush? It appears you have yours like that.
The reason I ask is... If I'm mowing close to a quarter inch, and the reel mower won't get all the way to the edge unless I put one wheel on the sidewalk which, (if the sidewalk is higher than the grass), would make a slanted/uneven cut around the edge. Are there special string trimmers for golf courses or something that I need to look into? Or do I just match the soil and sidewalk levels?

I am not totally sure on this. Could be a touch too hot. Dahlias do like heat but maybe not that much heat.

I’m just a couple hours north of you in Idaho. I have been looking for a Toro greens master or John Deere reel mower to buy but there doesn’t seem to be any in Idaho/Utah area. Do you know of a good source to look for these reel mowers? All of my local golf courses only use tri-plex machines.
I really hope Connor is just making up the names of the Dalias as he goes just to mess with people…

Don't over work yourself chasing the almighty $$$. I've known people who lived to work coming home at 8 and 9pm every night and on their death bed they had regrets of not spending quality time with family over the years. Just something to think about.

Why did you just pinch them off and throw them? Why not put them in a vase in the house?
The ones I've thrown are ones that are on their way out or dying. They need to be dead headed so more blooms will come. We do pick younger flowers and take them inside. Once they start to go down hill it's best to dead head.
