Hello, Thanks for sharing. Great video. My question is i didn't see where you could Chroma Key - support for background removal via a green screen. I currently use a green screen to rec my RUclips videos and want to be able use it for my streaming. Does either one offer this feature?
Hands down...one of the best comparison videos I've seen on RUclips and I'm not being hyperbolic at all. The back and forth banter was very informative and engaging.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! 🎉 Hope that maybe you'll be able to stop by and say hey during one of our live streams someday! (Friday at 10:00am PT) 🙂
Not being able to host video files on the cloud without paying full price was the deal breaker for me with restream. Streamyard lets me do that in the free plan. I’ll be upgrading soon and looking forward to more features. Good video thanks ladies!
Luria, thanks for a wonderful video! So many great points. I read through the comments here and just wanted to pin a couple of FAQs from the thread: 📍 Restream allows you to Record Only by toggling off all the channels and clicking Go Live. You can then access the video in the recording, and it stays there for 15 -30 days, depending on your plan. 📍 Scheduling recorded videos to go live (or previous streams to replay) is one of my personal favorites. 📍 There is a way to play a video from your laptop (any length) using the local source button under a Guest button. 📍 Restream works with OBS and Ecamm, and even Zoom. The new feature allows you to pull your Zoom webinar directly into the Studio and add all the overlays/captions/comments etc. 📍 We have 24/7 stellar Support with real humans responding in under 4 minutes. Onboarding or tech issue - we got your back!
I'm a Streamyard user. Been using for a year. But one thing about Streamyard, they don't have tech support. Well they do , but it sorely lacking. Restream's tech support hands down is the best. They are patient and want you to get the best out of their software. Streamyard, although easy, just doesn't cut it when it comes to tech support.
These ladies are awesome valuable info and super engaging so you don't have to replay, replay, replay. I'm going with Restream because the interface is easier for me to navigate. Thanks Ladies!
I have been using StreamYard for at least 9 months now. It is simple and if I have a technical problem I can always ask after my broadcast. I just checked out Restream today and I like the fact that all the backgrounds, video clips and overlays are visible and ready to use. They are pretty cool! I am not sure that StreamYard has them. If they do, they must be hidden somewhere. I will have to do some searching on RUclips. What I don’t like about Restream is that you have to pay $50 in order to get rid of the logo. I do free broadcast and can’t see me paying so much money a month, when StreamYard does it for half the price.

Also figuring out if and why I would need something like an ATEM Mini or OBS if I'm using Streamyard et al? I hope you'll be making a comparison video talking about your Level Three software - like ecamm, etc.
I have been using SY as I noted below and it has been flawless. The 1080 and sound quality is great (using rode xlr mic and rode procaster mixer). Never tried restream except for a few multi-streaming forwarding
I've used Wirecast pro for many years now but found Rendezvous lacking for live guest interviews. I opted for Restream over Streamyard not became of features as I found them more or less identical but, I simply preferred the Restream interface. Inviting a guest into a restream broadcast however, I was told that in Streamyard, you have the option to use a Greenscreen.. Something not present in Restream it appears. I think this is a feature that has been missed in all comparisons between the two platforms as some people like this feature. Yes you can achieve the greenscreen effect using OBS Virtual cam but as Streamyard has this already built in, I think this should be highlighted. Great review though, I love it. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the informative video. It really gave insight into both platforms. For someone who isn't very "technical" when it comes to live-streaming nor has the internet speed to do it with OBS, for example, I have been enjoying using StreamYard. The fact it has been working for me thus far at the internet speed I have, and that it doesn't seem to lag or freeze (as of yet) is a winner in my book. And it's a bonus that StreamYard has a Facebook group (which I just learned about) where you can not only ask questions to get some help if needed, but it's another great way to meet and become friends with others. I look forward to upgrading my plan soon with StreamYard, and becoming a member of their Facebook group.
NEW - Great comparison. I am looking to do the edit destinations mid-stream. I have been googling how to do this but I think I don't have the correct search terms. Basically, I wan the first 15 minutes to be public on FB and YT but for members, I want them to watch in the member's group. And, in this member's group, it would be a WordPress page with the stream running. I assume this is possible - no? Also, if we do it that way, how do we cover off chat when we do this? Thanks and really enjoying deep diving into your materials. M
new... I think i will be choosing Restream! I will check out your videos. but I have a question. What if I have laptop that is a few years old? Does the camera I use effect how the videos are streamed live? Also, what camera do you use?
I appreciate you guys doing this; and your respective companies allowing you to. It's super-hard to both be fun and objective, while fulfilling your professional obligations in advocating for your platform as the preferred option. You guys did great trying to balance the two, and I think it's a good examples for other companies who may be scared to do this kind of thing. Friendly competition is good for the market, and it's totally okay to "fight" for your team's market share... as consumers we're making these judgments anyway, might as well see how the companies themselves would "argue" for their platform directly against a competitor. It also probably helps that both of your platforms are actually good, so you each are probably less sensitive to criticisms because you know your respective platforms have legitimate strong value offerings. Again, great job you two! 🙌 PS - This is my second time watching, re-visiting after a few weeks of procrastinating 😅

I've been subscribed to BeLive for 2 years, and now to ECamm, Restream & Streamyard for coming up to the year (renewal time). With using a combination in a daily morning card reading, I have ECamm virtual camera into the BeLive streaming to FB page & YT channel, then have the ECamm simulcasting via Restream to the 4 locations of 2 FB, Twitch & Periscope. So, SY is now only being used sporadically to keep up with the updates. I need to be deciding very shortly which 2 main options I continue with. Four full subscriptions is a tad costly!
Wow, yeah, that's a lot! If you're comfortable with Ecamm and Restream, you should be able to do everything from that combo. Also, you know that Periscope is going away, right? Have you decided what you're going to use instead?

Great job ladies! I am a ReStream user right now but thinking about changing over to StreamYard. I'd like to know (I don't know how to say this...) you have to have a really powerful internet signal with ReStream and I'm wondering if StreamYard is the same? Hi Tracy, the problem is probably on your user's end. make sure they aren't on wifi...have them connect to ethernet cable from modem, or they just have slow service.

Hello there! We would need to still be streaming live to cover all the AMAZING features of both platforms. 😁 The answer is yes, you can use "green screen" on both platforms. Here's some more info: Streamyard - streamyard.com/resources/docs/green-screen/ Restream Studio - support.restream.io/en/articles/4842124-how-to-use-virtual-camera-chroma-key-with-studio
Second time watching this. I have been trying Restream, Streamyard and Melon. Let me say I like Melon but, it has some glitches. Leaning toward Streamyard. You ladies make it entertaining and educational at the same time.
NEW...;o) I'm a STREAMYARD user and love that. It is more expensive on first tier plan but I feel it adds more features I use at that level. Loved the video, great work girls.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! 🎉 Hope that maybe you'll be able to stop by and say hey during one of our live streams someday! (Monday and Friday at 10:00am PT) :)
Echoing @IAMTALLBOY, great comparison video. One thing that popped up I"m guessing that came after the video was made is with LinkedinLive/ReStream. Re-Stream has made it possible through them to enable auto caption. This is huge!!! Before the only option is to edit and upload your Livestream.. which takes away the natural charms of watching it Live when you need to repost it. My hope is both StreamYard and ReStream will offer transitions as an option (As of this typing StreamYard does not have plans for it, and Restream is looking into it ) The huge thing I love with both is StreamYard/ReStream do a better job than ~ Level 3 (vMix, eCamm) are posting live chat comments. As of this typing vMix still does not have the API from Linkedin to post the chat comments. Can you tell we're fired up after listening. :) Great job @LSP and Melanie !!!
It depends! Tiktok has started to allow *some* people to stream from their computer, so first you'll have to check to see if they've made that available to you. You can find the instructions here: restream.io/blog/how-to-go-live-on-tiktok
Yep, hear ya... They're both great and have a lot to offer. Have you thought about trying them both to see which feels like a better fit for you? You can get a free trial of both! (Check the description for links.) Hope you'll let us know what you decide!

I currently use professional Restream but Streamyard built-in GREEN SCREEN is vital to my look so I think I'll be pivoting to Streamyard by end of June.

@@LiveStreamingPros Yes! I'm using Restream. I'm both a Dj and a Gamer and I stream on Twitch and RUclips. I use Restream because of it's simplicity and I've been getting by with the free subscription since I only stream on Twitch and RUclips. Streaming on Facebook has been quite a challenge due to their strict guidelines and policies however I'm sure that will be fixed later on down the line. BTW, new subscriber here! WooooHoooo!
Loved this format, thought it might end up in a cage match... Great points for both. I'm going to try restream, I felt the featureset was larger though some of the features of Vidyard seemed very smart. The price of both should cap at 20 a month though.
@@LiveStreamingPros Hi, That you can't now comment during the live. I have to go back to the facebook page and post as my personal self. Also you couldn't delete posts or, block anyone. Plus I have to invite people into the studio via those personal posts and can't do it from the Livestream comments because, even though my page has set up the stream I can't post directly onto it.. And worst of all...it is pointless setting up an advanced stream as when it goes live no one sees it so, I have to just put a post up I am going live and then just set up a broadcast when I want to go live and hope people find it. StreamYard have been great trying to help but, they say it is Facebppk's new settings.
Hi Luria, new here. Trying to decide between the two. Main reason is I need to offer streaming to people on my RUclips type site using RTMP....and would love the streams to have live chat but I'm not sure either do. They won't be streaming to any other platform, just my server with RTMP.
If you're not streaming to one of the big platforms (RUclips, Facebook, etc.) then you want be able to use the features that bring in comments to display on screen during your stream.
This a great video! As a Streamyard user, I have seen Melanie on her own channel who is fantastic. Got a couple of questions... 1) Restream still has no ability to record a file only unless you go Private and then download the file afterwards, is that correct? 2) Is there a definitive guide of the different layouts available in Restream? I've love to see a video of the different layouts available for 3 to 6 people. 3) The feature I'm finding so handy in Streamyard is Sharing a Video straight from desktop. I have previously shared a pre-recorded hour long video "as live" and have then been able to overlay the live comments over the top, which provides nice interaction. The risk is though - if my internet connection goes, I'm screwed. So, in Restream, if you schedule an uploaded video (great feature), can you go in and relay live comments on top at all? It *seems* like the transitions and caption animations look a little classier on Restream, and of course there's the Analytics - which look great. Tough decision!
The option of "record only" for download the original video from the platform is a good one I would like to see on Restream. I also add the one of create a "New brand or New profile" Restream doesn't have yet, or I don't see it. Also, add other currencies, like Euros.
Is this video post edit or you use re-stream or streamyard. basically i want to know is how do we get the design of the frame which the edge of the frame is curved. the amazing thing is only one side is curved
Thank You soooooooo Much! I am starting my new channel "The Freedom Project" and I'm def. leaning towards Restream. Looking forward to building a great platform.

@@LiveStreamingPros Thanks.
I love y'all's energy together!
Awww, thanks! ♥
This was the easiest to follow explanation video I've ever watched! Thanks you so much!
Glad it was helpful! 🎉 If you'd like to learn more about Restream, check out today's video: ruclips.net/video/jsCJMCZDKQg/видео.html
Hello, Thanks for sharing. Great video. My question is i didn't see where you could Chroma Key - support for background removal via a green screen. I currently use a green screen to rec my RUclips videos and want to be able use it for my streaming. Does either one offer this feature?
Hello there! We would need to still be streaming live to cover all the AMAZING features of both platforms. 😁 The answer is yes, you can use "green screen" on both platforms. Here's some more info:
Streamyard - streamyard.com/resources/docs/green-screen/
Restream Studio - support.restream.io/en/articles/4842124-how-to-use-virtual-camera-chroma-key-with-studio
Second time watching this. I have been trying Restream, Streamyard and Melon. Let me say I like Melon but, it has some glitches. Leaning toward Streamyard. You ladies make it entertaining and educational at the same time.
NEW...;o)
I'm a STREAMYARD user and love that. It is more expensive on first tier plan but I feel it adds more features I use at that level. Loved the video, great work girls.
Great comparison video, quick to the points and you both really j is your stuff, thanks ladies!
Great news, thanks for sharing! 👍
@@LiveStreamingPros a pleasure! Doing the best to share and provide value for everyone as you have often done for us.
New here. Want more. Possible to add TikTok to restream and go like same time with other platforms?
It depends! Tiktok has started to allow *some* people to stream from their computer, so first you'll have to check to see if they've made that available to you. You can find the instructions here: restream.io/blog/how-to-go-live-on-tiktok
Ohhh I actually use StreamYard on a regularly basis, but also have pro access to restore am LOL which I loveeee too
This is awesome but... it kept me confused on which to choose. lol They BOTH are awesome, and each have at least one thing I want.
Yep, hear ya... They're both great and have a lot to offer. Have you thought about trying them both to see which feels like a better fit for you? You can get a free trial of both! (Check the description for links.) Hope you'll let us know what you decide!
great info, I am looking at these now to do some Amazon Live streaming. Tried to figure out OBS but it is a bit complicated so looking for one of these easier platforms, I want it to be professional looking and simple for a one person operation. thanks for the info
Hi! Great stuff! I am new! And, glad to learn from you!
I pick StreamYard.
Awesome, we're so glad you found the right solution for you! (It's a pretty amazing tool, right? 😃)
New here!
Thanks for this video. Really useful information
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! 🎉 Hope that maybe you'll be able to stop by and say hey during one of our live streams someday! (Friday at 10:00am PT) 🙂
@@LiveStreamingPros Awesome will defs check it out and try make it live 🙏🏿💜. Often I just catch-up on all the content late coz I'm usually watching RUclips in the evening like now before bed or something unless I'm feeling extra in the mood to procrastinate during the work mornings 😂
That works too! 😁
you are such a pro. I love it. I want to know what cam did u use and what did u use to record this.... Streamyard? hahaha
LOL, thanks for the kind words! We used Ecamm to stream this... 😎
@@LiveStreamingPros mmmmmmm so… it was like none of them so everyone happy? Hahaha. I still don’t know how to put that bar with info as a banner o lower third on Streamyard
First I tried with Streamyard for free and I got new demo on restream. I think what is different? Take sometime to rethink again and again until I decided to use Green duck head....because I met Green duck head first....
I currently use professional Restream but Streamyard built-in GREEN SCREEN is vital to my look so I think I'll be pivoting to Streamyard by end of June.
Cool! You can test drive the idea during the free trial period. Hope you'll let us know how it goes! 👍
@@LiveStreamingPros will do.
@@TheActualKingSmith What makes Streamyard green screen so good just curious? Don't you use the green screen setup inside OBS as your camera? Why would you need streamyard green screen setting?
@@HotshotBuilders I don't have a good lighting situation and the effect inside Streamyard works better than me manually setting the green screen settings in OBS. I change my lighting...it won't be an issue.
NEW! I will watch all your videos tonight :)))
Trying to live stream today with streamyard on youtube-- studying up! This is fun to try and learn! Thanks for the info!
When Live streaming an event from RUclips Streamyard has lag. Does anyone know If restream is better for Live streaming RUclips | twitch events?
We've been using StreamYard and I prefer it in most ways... but those Restream analytics are the bomb!
Restream and StreamYard are both awesome!
What platform was used to create this video?
Great content guys... Very informative and entertaining. Thank you.
Hello! For an online convention, interviews, easy streaming... which one is better? Greetings from Spain.
Really good ,I’m just looking and watching videos.
can you explain how you did this video..?
Thanks ladies. It helped me make an intelligent decision.
Just realized I'm on my music channel... I own a Travel Agency and like to do live work our the field, usually on cruise ships.... need some help deciding
New! Really a fabulous comparison! I use restream and compared it now with Streamyard. I will stay with Restream!
Yay!!! So glad it helped!! 🎉
I use SY but I would love them to add analytics! Great feature for sure.
👍
Totally agree! It could happen. We’ll just have to keep requesting it. :)
Would love to see the light setup you're rocking here. Your catchlights are next level.
Check out this series - you'll see the whole set up, start to finish! ruclips.net/video/rDHNXfmIgiQ/видео.html
Both platforms sounds amazing
Melany has fangs!!!! Same here! Let's go FANG FAM!!!! Also, awesome video! Way to also keep it neutral too!!!!
Yay! Thank you! 😎 Are you using one of these to stream?
@@LiveStreamingPros Yes! I'm using Restream. I'm both a Dj and a Gamer and I stream on Twitch and RUclips. I use Restream because of it's simplicity and I've been getting by with the free subscription since I only stream on Twitch and RUclips. Streaming on Facebook has been quite a challenge due to their strict guidelines and policies however I'm sure that will be fixed later on down the line. BTW, new subscriber here! WooooHoooo!
Awesome, thanks so much! ❤️
Loved this format, thought it might end up in a cage match... Great points for both. I'm going to try restream, I felt the featureset was larger though some of the features of Vidyard seemed very smart. The price of both should cap at 20 a month though.
On the fence to which way to go... you gals are great by the way.
I do have StreamYard and will be using it very soon! May use Restream to broadcast on more platforms at once! Great valuable content in this video! 👍
Does RTMP include Instagram for both platforms? I know Restream does.
No, because Instagram does not allow for that at this time.
Do both platforms have the same problem with the new facebook 'experience' ?
What problem are you referring to?
@@LiveStreamingPros THANKS that’s what i thought. I’ll have to design something.
new ! i love your content i am hooked
Thank you so much and welcome!! Come say hi during one of our live streams :) Tuesday through Friday 10:00am PST!
@@LiveStreamingPros I will for sure ! I’m just moving into live stream for my business so your channel is PERFECT
hi Luria! Is there any way to do a live survey/poll with the streaming participants? any features/add ons? Thank you!
Not that we've heard about. That would be a great idea to submit to their support teams - couldn't hurt to ask, right?
How did you guys add white strokes around of the videos like that, was that done in streamyard or reastream??
New here! Thanks for the comparison!
New New New... ladies thank you for this Video really enjoyed it but you just made it more difficult for me to choose.
Thanks for sharing! It was very useful 🙌🚀
In the free version there video limitation? how many mb can I upload to exibe on the live?
I had tried Restream a couple of years ago but I find Streamyard a little more efficient....I like both
New. Trying to decide on SY or RS.
So exciting! Did you make your decision yet?
@@LiveStreamingPros I’m going to try SY as it appears easier but will try RS out as well before getting the paid subscription
Can any of these services stream to Instagram Live from each platform?
Luria I loved you on the show Wednesday lol
Very well done. How about you two come join my game show. I know I have asked you a million times LOL
Definite YES to that!
LOL, there's just not enough time to do everything we want! 🥺
@@LiveStreamingPros I get it!
The option of "record only" for download the original video from the platform is a good one I would like to see on Restream. I also add the one of create a "New brand or New profile" Restream doesn't have yet, or I don't see it. Also, add other currencies, like Euros.
That's a good idea!
What about recording to then edit and upload later?
Is this video post edit or you use re-stream or streamyard.
basically i want to know is how do we get the design of the frame which the edge of the frame is curved. the amazing thing is only one side is curved
Thank You soooooooo Much! I am starting my new channel "The Freedom Project" and I'm def. leaning towards Restream. Looking forward to building a great platform.
Hello and welcome! 🎉 We are always here to help!! Join our lives and say hi (and ask questions!) Monday and Fridays at 10:00am PST
Any horns , countdowns on streamyard or restream?
Great video - just started on stream yard. Learned some new features - thx!
Great to hear, thanks! Which feature is your fav?
Hi 👋
Restream seems to have changed for the better... maybe it's time for another, updated video? 😆 I'm hoping for a more recent comparison between the two and between the payment levels.
Awesome comparison, very much appreciated!
Glad it was helpful! 👍
Thank you so much for giving us More ideas about streaming.
what a refreshing way of reviewing the apps. Love it guys. I like stream yard for price and what you get in the middle option but restream looks slightly prettier so when i hasve more cash i would upgrade to their pro version
Great video. I really appreciate the unbiased, neutral-type of feature comparison you both worked together to produce.
Wonderful, and thank you, because it helped me make MY decision - reStream. ;-)
New! Great video I think I still don' quite know. They both seem great!
They are! You could try both 0 they have free trial options - and see which one is a better fit for you! The links are in the description...
