Lovely stuff mate. I'm a multi species fisherman myself and spend a lot of my time nowadays in small rivers, ponds and the docks , I was only thinking a couple of your films ago I wonder if Shaun does any other types of fishing apart from the carp and here you are. After nearly 20 years bivvi'd up on 3 day crusades I started going back to the type of fishing I started with and I love it more than anything else nowadays . I still get a few carp sessions in but I love this style of fishing . Great tips of trotting for beginners and this is generally what youngsters especially who cant affords all the gear start with. Really made my day this did Shaun , cheers and be lucky .
Glad you enjoyed it! I fish for everything, I’ve only filmed the odd session featuring other species. Hoping to bring more to the channel now 👍
WoW the old John Wilson Avon rod , nostalgia at its very finest Shaun .
I've never caught a Grayling or a Zander and have sort of made this winter a mission to accomplish the feat.
Just makes you feel good being out on the bank with a classic rod .
Tight lines guys 🤞🎣🤞

Yea it was great fun, done a few other trips since! Graylings in my list this winter, avoided me for so long!
I have a couple of them old jown Wilson Avon's. I sometimes use the quiver section in place when fishing smaller rivers. It makes it act more like a mini stick float rod. Excellent content mate.
Thank you 🙏 sadly I snapped the top of the quiver section when chub fishing in Baltic conditions many years ago! Top of the rod had frozen, had a bite and the tip snapped! And the rings were frozen solid too…not my best session 😂
@@TheFishingBloggerscheers for blocking me for no reason.
@@paulAnthony7236 you’re not blocked…I’ve never blocked anyone
That was a mega little session mate, brings back old memories, something different, top notch, keep them coming mate, fantastic, it was enjoyable to watch, bet it was enjoyable to fish,👍
It was great fun, nice to film something different 👍
@@TheFishingBloggers definitely mate 👍
The ol' JW, a very versatile rod. The fact that different companies still sell rods on the same theme says it all.
It’s a great bit of kit, bit wonky now though! Carbons had a battering over the years!
@@TheFishingBloggers but it paid for itself!🙂
@@billcollins6705 my dad invested well 😂
We could probably all still catch plenty with just a fraction of the gear we have. Back in the day, my late teens/early 20's, I had a float rod, a swingtip rod (!), and a pair of Gerry Savage carp rods which I think (its 40+years ago...) were 11ft and 2lb tc. They were use for everything, carp, tench, bream, pike, pollock, wrasse, mullet. I have 20+ rods now and probably catch less 😅
@@billcollins6705 I’ve still got a pair of 1.75lb glass carp rods from my old man, his first carp rods and my first carp rods! Still use them 1/2 a year, theres a couple of videos on the channel featuring them! I do mostly short sessions now as I get fed up of all the bulky kit we all carry, I’ve started to strip it all down and find it more fun!
Lovely spot of fishing, nice and simple just enjoying it for what it is 👍
Had a john wilson avon quiver when i was younger lovely rod shame i dont have it anymore.
More of that style of fishing would be great.
Plenty more coming! 😃 Glad you enjoyed it, need the rivers to stop filling up though 😂
@@TheFishingBloggers typical British weather spoiling it again!
