YAYYYYYY I've been waiting for this video! Seeing the scenery and hearing Liviu talk about his experiences growing up was so fascinating. It reminds me of how my dad is talking about his childhood and he probably will love watching this video. I was getting little kid flashbacks the entire time watching haha and it was nice reminiscing with your videos. Mulțumesc mult, a fost frumos!

Great video. Everyone recommended going to Sibiu when I was in Romania but I couldn't see everything. Will definitely visit there when I go back. Brasov is nice too. But I'm sure you've already been there now and know that. Romania is a really interesting and underrated country. I look forward to going back sometime.

Yes, the tomatoes! My family is from West Virginia and always had these big gardens. The tomatoes were incredible. I can’t eat grocery store tomatoes. They have no taste. So cool to hear Livio’s memories.

It was so special to go there with Livio, I felt like we were walking through his memories. At some museums I walk with guides who have studied what is there, but Livio has actually lived it! He gave me so many tiny details, like straw mattresses poking you in the back, sounds, smells, playing in the barn as a kid... I'd love to see an exact replica of my childhood! So amazing.

linkinaxiom Haha thank you! I love history, and I’ve read history books for as long as I can remember. When I visit a new place, I always try to research the history there. One of my passions is telling stories about history, not as just boring dates, but as exciting events with real people just like you and me.

In the UK, Romania and it's people are protrayed quite poorly in the media so hopefully through your road trip misconceptions will be proven wrong. This video is a great start!...

Thanks! And yes, I know that it's "Liviu," I only call him "Livio" on RUclips, as he used to have a channel called "Let's Go Livio" and wanted his name pronounced that way. The improper pronunciation started because he found that many people could not pronounce his name properly, and "Livio" was easier.
Now he doesn't do RUclips videos anymore, but everyone knows him as "Livio," so I'll keep pronouncing his name wrong, haha. But off camera he is Liviu! :P

I booked my trip to Bucharest in October. Though I won't be able to explore Romania beyond Bucharest, I will definitely plan to revisit Romania in the future.

Beautiful! So many travel vloggers in Romania skip the churches for some reason, so I'm glad you showed some. Transylvania's wooden Orthodox churches are truly amazing. This form of architecture was developed because the Austrians and Hungarians would not allow the Orthodox to build stone churches. (There is, as far as I know, only one stone Orthodox Church in Transylvania that predates the last few years of Hapsburg Rule, at Sâmbăta de Sus Monastery. According to the nun who led the tour there, the others were destroyed under the reign of Empress Maria Theresa.) Looking forward to watching more.

i can really relate with the tomato smell part , im from Romania and my parents have a garden where they grow tomatoes and potatoes so i would go help them out and i would smell like tomatoes all day.
