- Let me explain a bit more about this video:
Welcome to the game of Smash or Pass the Mystery Mould edition!
Smash or Pass is a game where you make a yes or no decision on an object, person, or thing by using the word 'smash' or 'pass'. The game is typically played with 'smash' meaning yeah that's good and 'pass' meaning I will pass on that. However, as we smash the things we don't like in pottery and pass the things on that we do, I will be playing it the other way.
SMASH= The piece is not good and will not be going to the next stages. The piece will be smashed hehe not like the usual way.
CAST= it's good and I will take it to the next steps.
If you have been a long time follower you will know that I have my Mystery Mould series where I unveil these moulds one at a time and decorate them. The pieces that pass this game will feature in the series when I start it up again. The smashes will not but this video series gives me an opportunity to clear out some moulds that won't fit in my new studio or maybe aren't the best for the series. Some are seriously cursed!
But wait, won't it spoil the mystery?
Yes and No! The mystery mould series will return but will have a mix of pieces from this series as well as some picked randomly like normal. By the time I get to them, I think you will either have forgotten about the piece or be super eager to see how it comes to life in the series. I am actually excited to hear your ideas on the ones we do pass on to the series as I may be able to implement them into the video and the design of the artwork. I am excited for the debates and discussions about whether I made the right decision for each mould. I am also excited to cull some moulds so I have less to move when I get the shelves for my new space.
Wait, are you smashing the moulds??
Ok, not smashing the moulds! I am smashing the cast it makes inside. I will clean the moulds up and find new homes for them that will appreciate them. AS much as I can see potential in all the moulds, I do want to focus on the ones that spark the most inspiration, have the grooviest of ideas and can be shaped and crafted in new ways. The smashed moulds are great but great for someone else who they are a better fit for. I will share details where you can get these moulds very soon.

I thought so too. The little handles really make it.
I just came here to see if anyone else saw that possibility! Pooh's jar doesn't have handles but that's an easy fix and it's SO close in shape to the one Shelby unmolded that I wonder if that's what the original owner used it for!

Am I the only one who instantly saw that clown head on top of that gorgeous jar lid for a horrific Halloween decoration? The feet and hands could be sticking out of the top for the ultimate nightmare fodder.
That is the only redeeming thing about that clown 😂

I think because you have so many molds you should have your assistant pull out all the doll molds automatically and just pass them along. You have so many molds to go through to only have 1 out of 4 you like. We want to see successes for you, so you have ones to paint up later. Thanks for all your joyful content.

agreed, the pot is perfection. i can see you making so many different variations of it. the bunny handles are cute too. glad u rescued a new batch of molds for us to enjoy discovering w/u.
Since your team has grown so much, it would be lovely to be introduced to your assistants. Maybe each of them could make up their favourite piece or open a smash or cast mold as a way of introducing themselves?
Who would have thought watching a young lady making/smashing/painting ceramic figures would be so relaxing.
So incredibly nice to watch someone that isn't swearing every five seconds and seems to be a genuinely wholesome person.
I am currently supporting my daughter as she deals with cancer, and this channel is a balm to my overwrought mind and fractured thoughts.

I just had to laugh when you pulled the clown out of the mold. Believe it or not people used to love clowns although my son was terrified of them then. The rabbits are so cute.

Ahh hah hah hah! I loved your "bad ass" enjoyment at smashing the football and the clown. The clown was so horrible that it is almost great. Had a good laugh at seeing it. The football has a wonderful surface texture. It could be made into an Easter egg - with a cool earthy coloring , yellow and green, maybe.
Love the pot. I immediately thought of your Australian flowers decorating it. The bunny mug handles are adorable.
That clown doll mold makes me think of the opening of Are You Afraid of the Dark? Like the creepy attic clown doll.

There’s always a point in your videos that reminds me to LIKE it. Something before being told to. This time I LIKED the video as soon as I saw the sugar jar. It is special and Shelby will make it even better.
There is a movie props house somewhere that can use that clown doll mold and I hope they find you so they can give its proper terrifying home.

I was a clown in my youth and I worked very hard never to frighten children. I visited an orphanage in Belarus dressed as a clown doll. A little four year old girl had just been pulled from her alcoholic home (along with her three older siblings). She was terrified. I acted as scared as her. She immediately came to my rescue and called me beautiful in Russian. She directed me all through the orphanage. She was no longer afraid. Not all of us are nightmares.
I saw a movie with a horrific broken doll when I was a child. People who use such things to terrify children need to be locked up. I understand your aversion to both, but I’m its likely because what you saw was used to frighten. I’m glad you find homes for the doll molds.
The jar reminds me of the sugar jar in the Disney movie, “The Sword in the Stone”. It had so much sass and attitude.
There are a few "scary" artits about that the doll molds would be amazing for.

Having been a kid in the 80's when clowns were just funny goofy jokesters I really don't get how they can be scary. I blame Stephen King for ruining an innocent childhood thing and traumatising a generation. Your assistant is also a special kind of evil for messing with you like that 🤣

Thank you for taking my advice and not knowing what it is that you are opening. I think the hands and boots of the clown mould could be used on cups or mugs do you think? I am like you, I don’t particularly like the head but I do feel that you could definetly use the hands and feet. A Christmas mug with feet would look awesome I think. What do you think ?? Xx❤

Probably because I'm reading a book about Egypt but the jar instantly reminded me of a canopic jar for some reason. That is such a lovely mold with soooo much potential! It could certainly be used for Halloween themes as well.
