I like programming. Fonts tried in this video 1. Menlo 2. Comic Shanns 3. Fira Code 4. JetBrains Mono 5. MonoLisa #benawad ---- Follow me online: voidpet.com/be...
@@FabuBrik actually lot of people, even in the programming world. Try to get your head out of the "oh all devs make web apps in Macs" for a second and go out in the real world where most companies will issue you a work computer with Windows and that's that.
Rarely useless video. Sometimes is better not to make one Ben. I am sure you can do better, you've done it plenty times so far. But this is either trolling or plain silly video.
I dished out the cash for MonoLIsa a few months ago bc for some reason a bunch of the other fonts just felt off to me. If I had to describe it, I'd call it "cramped". It has a ton of customization too, which is super nice. Can't say it made me a 10x engineer the same way my gamer rug made me global elite in csgo, but def reduced the cognitive load of programming for long hours, every single day.
Hello welcome back. I've been using Monaspace Krypton. I swear I dislike its "sci fi"-ness but I can seem to read code better with it... In my eyes the edges get rounded when small enough. It kinda looks like my handwriting too
You should play around with your color theme and also highlight some parts in bold. That makes way bigger of a difference. Oh and I use Comic Code and enjoy it very much!
Inconsolata is my favourite. Been coding for 34 years, so my eyesight is not so great anymore. Fonts matter a lot to me. The most important part is that a coding font must show a very visible difference between 0 (zero) and O (uppercase o). And I absolutely hate ligatures.
Call me satan but I actually use a proportional (non mono) font for coding (the ubuntu font). I found that I can read code much faster in it which outweighs the occasional misalignment of stuff. Also it saves some horizontal screen space. Misalignments don't even happen that often because it's rare that lines are horizontally aligned by the number of characters. Mostly it's just tabs or repeating sequences at the start of the lne which occupy the same length anyway.
I have a personal list for this lol. - CommitMono (for just getting things done) - Liga SFMono Nerd (for terminal stuff) - Iosevka Comfy (Normal/Wide Duo) - Jetbrains Mono - Monaspace Neon (I like this for vscode terminal) Rotate between these. All are good.
You need to speak more clearly. What did you say here 2:00 - this is a very aggressive great enzyme?????. You need to think about speaking clearly the whole time.
i used pragmata pro (stolen for free) and then when i realised i couldn't use ligatures on the old stolen font i switched to iosevka (ss08 pragmata pro style)
MonoLisa is really good, (there's a free trial variant you can download if you dig into the site a bit more.) You missed Operator Mono (also paid). And the Monaspace family (which has some cool ideas).
Wait, I noticed that you looked younger before you took a break from RUclips. Then, you appeared to age significantly in some appearances on other channels, but now you look young again. How did that happen?
wait you still exist?
Legend has it he switched to Vim and never got to exit since
😂😂😂😂 bro didn’t even say hi
My exact thought! :D
These are the things I achieved since your last video:
- Got promoted from Mid to Senior role
- Got married
- Had a kid
- Got fired
- Got divorced
sorry for your loss
Impressive speedrun
- Died
- Got reincarnated
Bruh bruh bruh. sorry man
Damn it's only been 2 month or so...
Bro is mogging us with the thumbnail
Bro is locked in
I would also like to know what room temperature should I program at???
It should be cold enough that your chocolate doesn't melt but not so much that's your bare feet get cold and cause you to wiggle them around
Just to note Menlo is only the default for Mac, Consolas for Windows
Who the hell is using windows?
@@FabuBrik it's literally the most used operating system
@@FabuBrik people who do stuff other than code, watch videos or browse the web all day
@@SAsquirtle why would those people be concerned with Consolas then? Hmm

JetBrains Mono guy myself.
But i get bored and try out different weird fonts form time to time./
good to see you again
we got font tier list before gta 6
Now to do it in light mode
I will probably only listen to the audio then 😆
answering the real questions
Wingdings, 3pt font. Bonus for white text on white background in light mode.
You showed off Apple’s Menlo font, but their SF Mono font is superior for programming
Tf you mean by superior? Superior for you maybe
@@electrolyteorb Superior for everything.
Ok, I think this is the last day on Earth since Ben uploaded.
Everyone brace for impact.

bro finally remembered his password
This is honestly more important that what IDE you use
Ugh... You can do better! Get your act together
Thanks to you, I finally took some time to find my out what my favorite font is, and it's Fragment Mono.

Obviously Iosevka. Glad the GOAT is back.
personally i think iosevka is the best
you can fit more code on your screen
Yes!
SpaceMono is solid for everything from your terminal to coding.
Man, I missed your videos....!!!
Please produce more videos. We are very eager to see more updates from you.
Comic code ftw! (comic shanns but paid (🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠) and with more characters and nicer looking)
dude comes back to talk about fonts
made my day ngl
I use Monolisa for around 9+months already. No complaints so far.

Obviously Comic Sans. 😂
Let's be honest here, Fira is the winner
i got the same take with you.. Jetbrains makes me want to code something corporate
this guy is alive!!!
No Cascadia Code?
Hey Ben!
Just letting you know I’m working really hard on a full void pet UST and I’d love your input ❤
Wait... you're not using Neovim yet? Disappointed man...
Honestly, if your IDE is not in light mode and font is not set to Comic Sans, you are not a developer.
I use fira because the triple equals thing just makes me feel superior!
The >= is super ugly tho
Try victor mono
Comic Code is such a good coding font!
missed you king
what the hell
dont care
Enjoyed the DHH pic
Bro showed up to talk about fonts 😂
Fira Code Retina, and it ain't even close.
Feeding the channel little crumbs so it doesn't starve? You're not a good owner!!
Nice cinematography, definitely leveled up
Finally a video about the important question! Thank you.

The only correct answer is SeriousSans -> comic shanns doubly forked
JetBrains Mono because I am a poor developer
Using Intel One Mono personnally and loving it
I have a personal list for this lol.
- CommitMono (for just getting things done)
- Liga SFMono Nerd (for terminal stuff)
- Iosevka Comfy (Normal/Wide Duo)
- Jetbrains Mono
- Monaspace Neon (I like this for vscode terminal)
Rotate between these. All are good.
+1 for CommitMono. Like Menlo but slightly more legible imo. Pair with Ra Eyeful theme and you're good to go
LOL, loved your video and after the conclusion: GIVE ME MY 3:56 OF TIME BACK
Lol, I thought you died in a coding accident! I am happy you survived xD
The best programming font is Arial.
The last one looked the best. The default one for VS Code is good enough but annoys my eyes lol.
Come on Ben, who cares about font, show us some real engineering videos 😄
you have been away from YT for too long, I have forgotten all you have taught before
pick whichever font you want
Wing Dings
My favorite coding font is Times New Roman...
aren't all the photos from DHH's Twitter profile?
Seriously, try (some variant of) Iosevka
JetBrains Mono is has always been my default
Bro we all thought you left youtube like your other projects
He is alive
Illinois Mono is the best programming font.
i like victormono bc it makes all my comments cursive 🥺
Thank you, I had insomnia and I slept like a baby
That was very helpful, thank you very much!
Welcome back dude
DHH out here catching strays.💀
Comic Sans is the best
Iosevka will look different for sure
times new roman user here
He finally managed to exit vim
I've never been very font of any of these
OMG, he just shows up after ... how many years?? ...
and start talking like if nothing had happened, the nerve!!
😆
He was posting deeply informative shorts though every now and then.

LOL he said "this is a very aggressive greater than sign"
0:09 dhh can't just take a break lmao
Commit Mono is where it's at.
you forgot Victor Mono ben...
neovim + FiraCode = Chad
dhh pictures lmao

jetbrains font is the best.
SF Mono. No looking back.
Stupid but useful video
Guess who’s back 🎉🎉
