So for anyone who’s not sure what Erwin’s plan was here’s the step by step starting with his initial theories **forming the plan** Eren is a human who can turn into a Titan. Conclusion? Humans can turn into titans If humans can turn into Titans have there been any other titan shifters? We’ve had reports of how the colossal Titan appears in similar fashion to Eren’s Titan. Conclusion? the colossal and by extension the armored Titans are humans If the colossal and armored titans are humans who are they? Moreover why didn’t they breach wall Rose? Conclusion?they were present to see Eren’s arrival and likely apart of the military If they were apart of the military then who? They couldn’t have been present before the walls were breached. Conclusion: they are hiding amongst the 104th cadets This leads into **the plan itself** Step 1: going off the initial hypothesis that the titans are 104tb cadets he sets up a “honey pot.” (Or a tempting target that is secretly a trap) During the initiation ceremony note how he sets up Eren, the upcoming mission, and the basement. Going out of his way to divulge information. He’s baiting the warriors to attack Step 2: narrow the potential suspects. Erwin goes out of his way to talk up about how dangerous joining the scouts is and how likely you are to die. This scares away majority of people. Those that remain are his pool of suspects as the titans would remain in order to capture Eren regardless of the personal danger. Step 3: amongst the 104th cadets spread them out across the formation and give each of them a different position for Eren to be present. The goal being to bait the enemy to attack the section Eren is stated to be present Tell Cadet A that Eren is in section 8, Cadet B section 6 and Cadet C section 12. If the enemy attacks Section 6 Cadet B is the spy And we see this play out note: how when the female Titan attacks it attacks from the Right Flank and as Reiner, Armin, and Jaen talk they each say Eren is in a different section but Reiner says “Wait I thought Eren was in the RIGHT FLANK.” And just like that Erwin’s gambit has been successful. Any cadet who was told Eren was on the right flank is now a suspect Most notably: Reiner and Berthold Note how Jaen who had Eren on the left flank is removed from suspicion and Armin who discovers Annie is as well but by Step 3 Erwin has been successful. And narrowed down his suspects and now simply needs to weed out the rest. Those who are still under suspicion are separated from the rest of the scouts and sent to the isolated outpost where we see them in the start of Season 2
Man, going back it's even crazier when you realize the three dimmensoinal game of chess Erwin was playing against the Marley Warriors, and how this was one huge trap meant to lure out a shifter and expose other agents with the false information he gave to different groups in the formation.
@@timothybasalo4038 If I'm not mistaken, this was supposed to originally be a small skirmish to train for the Shinganshina operation, if I'm not mistaken But Erwin's plan was to capture a titan. How he knew that the female Titan would appear? I have no idea

Honestly, i like the way WIT studio made the background of this anime. But, i prefer Mappa for the foreground or the way they made the character face. If they could work together, i believe it would be beyond the word of masterpiece.
it's funny how 11 years passed and he didn't add freaking e to rang, just left it as is
at this point isayama should make an army using us fans and his formation.
So for anyone who’s not sure what Erwin’s plan was here’s the step by step starting with his initial theories
**forming the plan**
Eren is a human who can turn into a Titan. Conclusion? Humans can turn into titans
If humans can turn into Titans have there been any other titan shifters? We’ve had reports of how the colossal Titan appears in similar fashion to Eren’s Titan. Conclusion? the colossal and by extension the armored Titans are humans
If the colossal and armored titans are humans who are they? Moreover why didn’t they breach wall Rose? Conclusion?they were present to see Eren’s arrival and likely apart of the military
If they were apart of the military then who? They couldn’t have been present before the walls were breached. Conclusion: they are hiding amongst the 104th cadets
This leads into
**the plan itself**
Step 1: going off the initial hypothesis that the titans are 104tb cadets he sets up a “honey pot.” (Or a tempting target that is secretly a trap)
During the initiation ceremony note how he sets up Eren, the upcoming mission, and the basement. Going out of his way to divulge information. He’s baiting the warriors to attack
Step 2: narrow the potential suspects.
The goal being to bait the enemy to attack the section Eren is stated to be present
Tell Cadet A that Eren is in section 8, Cadet B section 6 and Cadet C section 12. If the enemy attacks Section 6 Cadet B is the spy
And we see this play out note: how when the female Titan attacks it attacks from the Right Flank and as Reiner, Armin, and Jaen talk they each say Eren is in a different section but Reiner says
“Wait I thought Eren was in the RIGHT FLANK.”
And just like that Erwin’s gambit has been successful. Any cadet who was told Eren was on the right flank is now a suspect
Most notably: Reiner and Berthold
Note how Jaen who had Eren on the left flank is removed from suspicion and Armin who discovers Annie is as well but by Step 3 Erwin has been successful. And narrowed down his suspects and now simply needs to weed out the rest.
Those who are still under suspicion are separated from the rest of the scouts and sent to the isolated outpost where we see them in the start of Season 2
This is why only smart people can write smart characters. A character can only be as smart as the one writing them and their actions.
Damnnn
@skepabbas9400 that's why in other shows they would just make the other characters dumb😂

3:24 the titans like oh oh ur going over there and i eh was going there too! heheh ehhh...
:P Honestly tho!
Man, going back it's even crazier when you realize the three dimmensoinal game of chess Erwin was playing against the Marley Warriors, and how this was one huge trap meant to lure out a shifter and expose other agents with the false information he gave to different groups in the formation.
Commander Erwin is a genius
If this elite guys were alive up until the war comes probably the Marleyans were doomed
It sucks knowing that this plan would’ve been pretty solid if the Female Titan didn’t mess up everything
the actual plan was to lure her out and capture her, not to plug the wall
@@nickcrompton1865 how did they know the existence of female titan? Isnt it this is the very first appearance of it?
@@timothybasalo4038 If I'm not mistaken, this was supposed to originally be a small
skirmish to train for the Shinganshina operation, if I'm not mistaken
But Erwin's plan was to capture a titan. How he knew that the female Titan would appear? I have no idea
@@timothybasalo4038 Erwin already knew there were traitors (possibly titan shifters) among them. During his requirement speech, he purposely mentioned about Eren’s basement and their plan to reclaim Shiganshina in order to lure the traitors into following them in the expedition.
If I’m not mistaken... Reiner, Berthold, and Annie were all supposed to go to the Military Police to get closer to the King. Eren’s appearance as a titan took them by surprise and Erwin’s revelation that the answer to the titans’ mystery can be answered by going to Eren’s basement forced Reiner and Berthold to join the Survey Corps.
@@timothybasalo4038 erwin hypothesized there were spies after the first colossal titan appearance by getting inside the destroyed wall, he asked everyone who joined after that time period a weird question and if they answered correctly, they would be in on the capture attempt
good old days when it was just about killing titans or getting killed by them
I stopped watching after that
0:16 oluo looks so cute🤣🤣🤣
This was when AoT was peak.
Sasha cheated death so many times only to meet her end when they were feeling relieved after a well earned victory.
0:08 ここにペトラがいるのがもう涙です
Erwin is the most badass character in this show.
i told you this before I"m always one step ahead.
In short! A giant fcking human radar
remember when things were this simple and they just explored and fought titans :D
Show this scene to everyone who says JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run won't get an anime because there's too many horses.
この壁外調査の目的が知性巨人を炙り出すためというエルヴィンの考えが素晴らしい
I loved how the formation was presented
0:45 i relate to that dude so much
Damn it hurts
@1:08 you can see about half the scouts took part in this expedition. I could roughly count 110 individual horses and say 2 people per horse carriage
You counted one by one?!
@@RidhoFebrian-lol
I miss this part of AoT, just strategy against an overwhelming obscure enemy
this anime should be named by Epic x Epic
Mikasa is the only one 1:12
Earlier seasons with this colour contrast felt so dark. Not saying current is bad it works perfectly with the current story
just the old storyline works better with dark colours
If aot can animate horses im sure jojo part 7 can be done

Great tactics.
Moreover, Erwin tried to find a spy by hiding where Eren was.
Amazing.
They really made air tight with all that suspense, titans were hella scary back then
people forget that erwin invented this when they're trying to compare him to armin lol
Armin has a shitload of feats too
@@madara_ackermantrue but his age nerfs him bad Erwin already knew the truth of the world and his own government he was serving years before armin was born
Erwin is probably the only person that can convince me to ride to certain death

If this Scout Veterans are the ones who fight in the battle of Shiganshina to reclaim the wall, the casualties will be lessen. My thoughts
scout veterans are long dead what are u talking about
All of them died , that's why later on the season you see levi comment how the scouts quality has extremely degraded
@@huunter006 yeah I know they are long dead since season 2 including the levi squad and Mike friend of Erwin that is why i said the word "IF" got it?
@@huunter006some of them actually is still alive but they retired after this expedition because of how dangerous the situation is.
@@vertex6586really who retired
the levi squad will always be badass
This was peak Attack on Titan. So much better than what's being presented now. Realistic tactics that work against insurmountable odds. Fantastic character interactions and leadership. Seeing all the strongest fighters in the AoT universe working together was when this show was at its best. I wish they would go back to this instead of the time traveling and founding titan bullshit
It's not time traveling, its much more intricate than that. S1 aot is good, but the series is considered a masterpiece because of everything that came after
Music at 2:57 reminds me of bourne movies. Specially during the chases
This shows Steel Ball Run is still possible
maybe
Hopefully.. Another reason why Stone Ocean should be hyped on NETFL1X
If Wit animate jojo its possible
i would say this , the plan for retaking shinganshina and the showcasing of the files of the warriors are my top 3 scenes in aot of when they do an explanation
Holy sht 8 years ago.. I realized I am getting old damn.
(1:45) Looking at birds will never be the same when re-watching AOT. 🕊💀
Edit: After making this comment, I immediately noticed that a red flare was fired, in the same direction Armin was looking, RIGHT AFTER the two birds flew off. I'm speculating that that's Future Eren in the afterlife watching over Armin from the past, and after watching the ending, I can never trust Hajime Isayama again. 😭
I really wish we got more time with the veteran Survey Corps. They were all so badass but that was the point of killing them unfortunately.
Goddammit
That fucking abnormal scared me first time I saw it
😂😂😂😂😂
Man, I miss these cool strategy scenes. There's none of these in s4.
How would there be, you can't exactly ride horse and shot flares across Marley
time flies😂 still go to japan no prob guys friends is fine.
やっぱり昔の古参の兵士がいる調査兵団がかっこいは
A bit late but I love the fact that they were given false maps that indicate different positions from the og plan. It made it easier to find the spies slash shifters amongs the regiment
Erwin was too damn smart.
God it would suck to be colorblind in this scenario
11 Years
How are people not talking about Mikasa being a squad herself?
These are the types of details that I live about aot. Despite the Titans shifting race and all, the world is so……believable.
It’s kinda sad thinking that by the end of season 3 of all of these scouts only 9 remained. By that point nearly all of them had given their lives and……. their hearts.
1:12 mikasa solo
full gallop for days, i want that horse in horse race
