UP1982 leading IOANP holds for ACE train

Quite the treat for railfans on this day, May 26 of 2023 for specifics. Union Pacific’s IOANP departed Union Pacific’s Oakland yard with UP1982 as the leader. UP1982 is the SD70ACe in the Missouri Pacific Heritage unit. The train rolls through the Tri-Valey in the afternoon hours, it rolls into the side track in the Livermore area and halts at F050 of the Oakland Subdivision as a ACE (Altamont Corridor Express) train approaches from behind enroute to Stockton. After a short wait, ACE 04 speeds by the IOANP when shortly after, UP1982 departs and gets back on the main to continue east.
