I really love how respectful you and your wife are of other people's property. Some of the bigger channels from your area are very rude. They will just toss things around and openly comment how something is junk or not worth buying...it's very off-putting. Keep up the southern values!
I started out watching American Pickers, then found you guys. I really like the way you and Kayla work together yet have your own ninch. Very enjoyable.

Picked up a set of cheese plates with cartoon chefs on each plate, and the name of the cheese circled the plate. Paid $1 per plate, and sold them to a NY City restaurant for $95 plus shipping. SCORE!
Good job on those shoe trees!!!! I probably have 50 pair in different sizes and configurations. They come in handy for working on shoes and taking good pictures
@@lullysmommyify Some are adjustable. I have a couple pair from my Dad who used them for his dress shoes. Some will have small inserts which allow you to push the leather out if someone has bunions, bone spurs or something else like it. Very few younger people use them now since the cost of good shoes is not cheap. My son spends about $200 per pair for his shoes and he has four or five dress shoes. @@beardedthriftmachine One nice thing about good shoe trees is you can use a 180 grit sandpaper and very lightly sand them to bring out the scent. It really helps reduce the smell from your feet when you store the good shoes properly.
There's all sorts of hidden gold at yard sales if you're willing to take your time to look. These are the two best and most profitable items I ever found at yard sales. 1. A leather covered wood box with a metal miniature windmill inside, completely disassembled and each component in its own felt lined section. Everything on it was detailed down to miniature nuts and bolts. The guy said it was an old toy and wanted $50 firm for it. What I had bought was a salesman's sample, in perfect condition, of a Woodmanse windmill, a company that went out of business in 1929. It sold on an eBay auction for $7500. 2. A Green Hornet Airplane inflatable pool toy from the 60's, still in the original box for $5. The lady was OCD about her children carefully putting away their toys when they were done playing. (Thank goodness) It had been stored indoors and was in perfect condition and even still held air when inflated. It sold on eBay for $1750.
I don't trust when they say, yeah! it's brand new, never used....yeah right! The good thing is that it wasn't something expensive. The shoe things, great deal $4 for all of them.
I see “brand new” used loosely a lot in FBMP and Poshmark, as well. “Brand new-worn twice” 😂 We bought a metal first aid kit at Goodwill and the neosporin expired in the 90’s.
I'm leary of food containers or coffee pots, since I have visions of people cooking meth or heating dog food in them. Non direct food contact like a microwave where I use my own cooking pans no problem. It's just a phobia I have.
5 hours of buying not 5 hours of work. You still have to include packing and going to the shipper. Your hourly rate is off and doesn't include per mile cost of car which should include per mile cost of maintenance. This is a great hobby but if you are planning on making a living on it you are going to disappointed in how much you actually make. It's a fun side hustle though. I enjoy it.
im going to disagree with you on this 100% - i was a cop for 10 years and on my last day with 10 years in being a Sgt and a K9 handler and over training - i made more (not gross) but net only working 2 years self employed - if you hustle the world is yours - if you sit back and say it cant be done .... then youre right - you cant do it.
To all sellers, get your sale price right, if you can afford losing money, but need it gone OK. Bose, prime example how to get it wrong , compare it on ebay ,to reach the correct price . If not, buy yours self a big bunch of banana's. And clime the nearest tree . Don't get mugged .
It’s definitely hard to believe people at yard sales when they say “new” or if an electronic “works”. I make that mistake too often and I know better. I trust people too much.

Brand New Sawzall blades at a yard sale is not the same as @ the big box stores. 50 bucks may be what they originally cost, but, its a YARD SALE. She was 89 when she passed and she and a couple of sisters had gone out to the yard sales/garage sales a month before she had her final illness. I stopped going to yard sales since I still have too much stuff of my own which I need to eliminate from my stock.
