    Bakelite is made out of phenol-formaldehyde resin. They stopped using bakelite in most products in the 50s. Balkelite when rubbed with your fingers to get the "plastic" warm gives off a formaldehyde smell.
    A stereo radio that new is not bakelite.

    Bakelite jewelry was made in the 1920's and '30's. That gives you some idea of Bakelite's age. It never would have been used in the '60's, '70's or'80's on electonics. Better plastics were used then for durability. Just an FYI and reference for you.

    There are a couple of reasons you couldn't fond this particular stereo. MusicMate is Soundesign or at least they were when I was growing up in the 80s. This still isn't the exact thing but chances are because they were such cheap products then they just were never popular enough for many people if any to have really bought them. Even another of the larger named Audio companies are from the same Era and have secrets that alot of people don't know it's always funny to hear people arguing over certain companies' equipment nit even knowing they and 3 others are all under one manufacturer 😆. Anyway the point of all of this is it's basically the same thing just a different variation either meant to appeal to a certain size bank account or a specific social demographic either way at about that time the two companies and a couple others if im not mistaking were all under one manufacturer.

    • @jaymzgaetz2006
      @jaymzgaetz2006 2 года назад

      You missed 2 key words in my comment...way overpriced. If it's a business they're trying to rip you off because knowing the value of what they're selling is the only way to not fail. If it's a yard sale they're either trying to rip you off or completely out of touch with the real value of their items. Either way it will probably end up being a time consuming hassle that bears no fruit. Some people can make it work if they break the ice with the seller or use their knowledge of current values to spot a deal. I wouldn't even try. You can try to get the going rate for your items but you won't sell much. You'd fetch a better price online. I know prices, and if they're all too high they jump out at me and I'm out. Either somethings wrong or somethings up. Bargain hunting is all about knowing values and spotting deals. Nobody goes to yard sales to pay retail or more. Sorry to hurt your feelings but that's the way the game is played. But you already knew that because you've been watching froggy. Good luck to you.

    You may be making a living selling this stuff but I CANT HELP but notice the tons and tons of inventory you have on shelves in the background of your videos just tieing up $$$$ with unsold inventory. Why is that? It really doesnt help your cash flow if you have hundreds and thousands of dollars in stuff sitting on shelves. Is that normal for this kind of business? If so, i dont want my cash sitting on shelves doing nothing.

      Everyone was caught off guard when the world stop 2 Years ago- people couldn't shop, get inventory and businesses went under. No yard sales auctions estate sales etc. I now will always have some on hand if that ever happens again. That's my Choice you can run it however you see fit
