- I made this Garbage Cabinet for my family to have a place for the garbage can as well as some storage and a counter top.
I wanted to share my process and inspire others to make similar things.
If you have any suggestions for what I should make next please leave a comment. Like and comment, every one means a lot to me!

It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
I never really saw the need for a honey-do list... but let me tell you, I have one and now this is at the top of it!
Came out nice. Was helpful to see this built. Thanks for showing.
wwall2 thanks! Some rough plans are on my website makeitmazzeo.com thanks for watching!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing
I just bought one from the Amish and it was just like that .....good job !!

Very cool! I'll have to make one of these once we get a house!
Thanks! Lol we're still not in a house this is for my kitchen "area" lol
Looking good! Definitely more aesthetically pleasing than a garbage can. :)

Great job! Thanks for sharing!! 😃
Well done. Keep it rollin!
Thank you!
I have had one for many years and really enjoyed mine. i just receiently saw a 30 gal trash can lie yours and on top of it way a cabinet for storage. It was pretty cool. if I can find one like it i will by it. thanks for you sharing,
Awesome! Thanks for watching :)
It's great to see someone with about my same experience post a build. Most of the posts are by master craftsmen, that I'm sure we will be some day. I'll be doing a similar project, making a pet feeding station. with a drawer under for the dog bowls. I've got the same saw too.
turned out good man..thats something i need to make for our kitchen..keep our 3 yr old in check..lol keep em coming bro
Thanks man! Yeah this has already been useful keeping them away haha.
very good my friend i like it to :)
Thank you!!
No problem my friend :)
You are awesome! This is fantastic, looks so nice, love the style! Thanks a million!

Thanks Ken hopefully I'll keep getting better!
Congratulations!!
Nice job, man! I like it.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it
Nice work Nick. I wanted to build one of these for a long time now, Also I lied the Kreg pocket jig, but they were always too expensive, so I got to looking on eBay and found a fairly good one somewhat like you had in this video for a whole lot less then the Kreg jig. So TY for the video and drawings and also for a push to find a good pocket jig.
thank you man glad i could help! check out this kreg jig its 18 dollars so thats not too bad and its still all i have and works perfectly for me www.amazon.com/Kreg-MKJKIT-Mini-Jig-Kit/dp/B00065WPP2/ref=sr_1_6?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1536339128&sr=1-6&keywords=kreg+jig

Very nice job ...it should get alot of use.. just Subbed bro
Thank you! Means a lot :)
Liked the video but would like to see the measurements I'm new to wood projects and you make it look easy did you have plans? nice job
Honestly I went off a drawing I did and made the measurements work. If you'd like I can give you all the measurements and some basic instructions. Let me know. Also congrats on starting woodworking welcome to the club!

parabens adorei seu video,muito esclarecedor,
Obrigado!😁
👌👌
Nice little project. Subbed, need to make sure smaller channels like ours survive RUclips's new policies.
Hey thanks! I subbed back. Yeah I hear ya, I meet the subs requirements but my watch hours are at 3335 and need to be at 4000 I'm close at least.
Thanks, much appreciated!
I have plenty of minutes, just lacking subs.
Issue with my channel is diverse content, so it's hard to keep subs. I think 98% of my views are not subbed.
Thanks and good luck with the channel, I'll have to watch more of your videos to push you up there!
I would like to know what you used for runners for your table saw sled and how wide did you cut them
10++
Nice cabinet, but i think you should rename it "a cabinet to hold garbage".....lol.
Haha thanks! I don't think there's a great way to make a title include the word "garbage" lol
Nice!!..I see you have a cross cut sled..is that a craftsman table saw?..My craftsman has those same tabs in the slots..how did you avoid them, when you built your sled?..Thanks for any help and nice job!!
Thanks man! Yeah I have the skil saw and those slots are terrible! I'm about to cut off the tabs to make building sleds easier I saw it in another video... What I did for that sled was actually cut the runners to fit with notches where the tabs are. It was hard and not fun and I'll let you know how it goes with grinding off those tabs lol!
Thanks!!..I would really appreciate it!!
Do it yourself, go to woodprix and learn how to make it.
What size garbage can did this accommodate?
Awesome project! Quick question, what're you using to hold the garbage can from falling off?
Thanks so much! Honestly the only thing holding the garbage can in is its own weight. I have thought of just screwing the can into the bottom of the platform or making a little hold down for it on top but I've been using it for two months as my main garbage can and its never fallen over. Also it is prevented from falling out the back from the cross piece in the back. Thanks for the question!
Make It Mazzeo what you could do is put a light chain around the can, hooked to the back of the pull-out face.

Awesome! Very handy. Just curious though, why don't you like your kids throwing the garbage all over? I mean what a party pooper!
I know right! I actually don't mind the throwing it's more the eating what they find!! Haha
+Make It Mazzeo Oh you gotta let them eat that. Builds their immune system.
+ReaperWoodworks hahahaha true!
DIY? Sure, if you've got your own professional carpentry shop.
I consider this a huge compliment. Thanks man. you can definitely do this yourself.
woodprix has very useful instructions with all details I need
Yes indeed
I love that Corey

Good job ! Except for that annoying music
Jose Cantu thankyou! At least the only thing you didn’t like is something I didn’t make I’m good with that. Next time just mute
But it goes so fast it would be hard for me to follow, and it doesn't say what all materials you need
www.makeitmazzeo.com/projects-1
Made entirely from 3/4 inch white pine except the drawer which is 1/2 inch maple plywood with a 1/4 inch plywood bottom
Also check the second line of description.
Would have been nice to have given some measurements and detail especially so someone else could have tried their hand at it.
This is not meant to be a full instructional video. The description states this is to show the process and inspire. Also I am working on plans to be able to freely give out. If you are interested let me know and I'll let you know when they're complete. Still pretty new at all this. Thanks!
would love to know when plans are available as well. Even if it's just rough estimates of the dimensions. I know you mentioned being new to this, but it looked pretty good to me. One thing you could experiment with that may work well for time-lapse videos is doing a brief voice-over about what you're doing at a particular point or maybe slowing to real-time and giving a quick explanation at certain points and then going back to time-lapse. Just some thoughts based on content I've seen from other youtubers. The important think is you're actually doing it and putting your content (and yourself) out there. You'll figure out what works best for you.
thank you for the kind words and yes I am drafting up plans for all my past projects. they will be rough but i will definitely pass them along to you. You can message me your email address and I will send you a copy or e mail me at makeitmazzeo@gmail.com
www.makeitmazzeo.com/projects-1/
I uploaded very rough plans here.
www.makeitmazzeo.com/projects-1/
Thank you for the tips, you brought up all things I want to work on. :)
Lol
My husband uses these plans from Stodoys and is very happy with them. However. I love yours!
Watch your clips before posting, then ask yourself would this be helpful if I didn't know where I was going with this. We can't drag this to the shop an stop and start to figure where to go next. Also talking and slowing down to explain is a lot of help to others who are trying to learn from you. And only then does time march on.
just one criticism. there are hundreds of free songs on the youtube data base maybe use a couple? or at least one thats not one resemble of hold music. not tring to be a dick.
Thr3wal No dickery taken. Thanks for the constructive criticism. Music is one of my weak points at the moment but I'm still new and trying to learn soon I'm planning on doing more videos with better music! Thanks!
I have no idea what you just did!!! No guidance at all! How about adding some words to explain all of the steps either via voice over or with text. I think this video is for entertainment purposes, not to teach someone how to DIY their own garage cabinet. I came here to learn, not waste away my time.
No le pegai mucho a la weaita...
Ur video not helpful
not good
