    It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

    It's great to see someone with about my same experience post a build. Most of the posts are by master craftsmen, that I'm sure we will be some day. I'll be doing a similar project, making a pet feeding station. with a drawer under for the dog bowls. I've got the same saw too.

    Nice work Nick. I wanted to build one of these for a long time now, Also I lied the Kreg pocket jig, but they were always too expensive, so I got to looking on eBay and found a fairly good one somewhat like you had in this video for a whole lot less then the Kreg jig. So TY for the video and drawings and also for a push to find a good pocket jig.

      I have plenty of minutes, just lacking subs.
      Issue with my channel is diverse content, so it's hard to keep subs. I think 98% of my views are not subbed.
      Thanks and good luck with the channel, I'll have to watch more of your videos to push you up there!

  • @1quickgt
    @1quickgt 8 лет назад +1

    Nice!!..I see you have a cross cut sled..is that a craftsman table saw?..My craftsman has those same tabs in the slots..how did you avoid them, when you built your sled?..Thanks for any help and nice job!!

    • @MakeItMazzeo
      @MakeItMazzeo  8 лет назад

      Thanks man! Yeah I have the skil saw and those slots are terrible! I'm about to cut off the tabs to make building sleds easier I saw it in another video... What I did for that sled was actually cut the runners to fit with notches where the tabs are. It was hard and not fun and I'll let you know how it goes with grinding off those tabs lol!

    What size garbage can did this accommodate?

  • @crucialjosh5951
    @crucialjosh5951 8 лет назад +1

    Awesome project! Quick question, what're you using to hold the garbage can from falling off?

    • @MakeItMazzeo
      @MakeItMazzeo  8 лет назад

      Thanks so much! Honestly the only thing holding the garbage can in is its own weight. I have thought of just screwing the can into the bottom of the platform or making a little hold down for it on top but I've been using it for two months as my main garbage can and its never fallen over. Also it is prevented from falling out the back from the cross piece in the back. Thanks for the question!

    • @tonybp965
      @tonybp965 7 лет назад

      Make It Mazzeo what you could do is put a light chain around the can, hooked to the back of the pull-out face.

      would love to know when plans are available as well. Even if it's just rough estimates of the dimensions. I know you mentioned being new to this, but it looked pretty good to me. One thing you could experiment with that may work well for time-lapse videos is doing a brief voice-over about what you're doing at a particular point or maybe slowing to real-time and giving a quick explanation at certain points and then going back to time-lapse. Just some thoughts based on content I've seen from other youtubers. The important think is you're actually doing it and putting your content (and yourself) out there. You'll figure out what works best for you.

    Watch your clips before posting, then ask yourself would this be helpful if I didn't know where I was going with this. We can't drag this to the shop an stop and start to figure where to go next. Also talking and slowing down to explain is a lot of help to others who are trying to learn from you. And only then does time march on.

    I have no idea what you just did!!! No guidance at all! How about adding some words to explain all of the steps either via voice over or with text. I think this video is for entertainment purposes, not to teach someone how to DIY their own garage cabinet. I came here to learn, not waste away my time.
