00:26 From this angle, in slow motion, it appears that: A) clean on the cover. DB got a hand on it and jarred it, but Dez had it under control (first foot down while he was juggling)and got 2 feet and right hand down before hitting the ground. B) Shields and Dez tangled legs, so Dez and Ref both responded as if it were a completion and tackle situation. C) In which case, Dez had a knee and elbow hit ground before ball was jarred loose by ground contact. Conclusion: Dez made catch, and was down as soon as knee hit. Ground cannot cause a fumble. I watched this game. I had been rooting for the Packers because I hated the Cowboys then and always have. But I still didn't want it to end on that sort of call. Dallas got hosed.
Heisenberg at the NFL level: you can only determine if the hands were on the ball -- not if the ball was moving individually of the hands, nor if that meant there was no control. How long should control last? If I grasp a ball with one hand while holding it making me lose a bit of pressure with my other hand, making it shift a little... am I in control of the ball? Did I have control before I started squeezing? Did I lose control? Stop bothering with that stuff.
Even if he caught it and the cowboys scored, you're still leaving a prime Rodgers 4 minutes left.
As a Lions, I never been more furious over an egregiously bad call than I was with the Megatron overturned catch
yep that was an awful call
As a packers fan who didn’t care who won that game, that call was putrid
Underrated asl

This was the play that made me give up on the NFL
took the NFL years to get their act together on this one
*Dropped
dez did NOT catch it
um
It's so weird hearing non Americans talking about football 😂
my friends think I'm a weirdo
Also happened in the 1999 NFCCG with the Bert Emanuel catch. They changed the rulebook for that one.
yep mentioned that, I believe it was the first catch/no-catch controversy in this saga
