Doris Day and Gordon MacRae star as a 1920s heiress who aspires to stardom and the attorney who falls in love with her. Nanette Carter's (Day) wealthy uncle agrees to finance a Broadway musical starring Nanette--on the condition that for 24 hours she answer "No" to any question. This one little stipulation leads to a whole host of romantic complications in this jazz-age musical. Loosely based re-working of the Broadway hit "No, No, Nanette"
Directed By David Butler
Starring Doris Day, Gordon MacRae, Gene Nelson

Such a lovely scene. Such wonderful voices. The golden age of Hollywood. I just wish there's a time machine to bring me to that era and I'll stay there for good.
This is just such a beautiful, beautiful scene.
When men were men, and girls were babes.

This is back when people dressed elegantly when they went out in public. There were no pajamas and slippers and hair wrapped in a sloppy bun on top of the head. The irony is that they were far less affluent than we are. Look at documentary footage from pre-1960, it is amazing. Men actually wore jackets and ties to football games.
Doris Day had - and still has - it all. Her smile is easy and glorious.
Yes RIP Doris Day who died and passed away in 2019.
Two of my favorites together! What could be better?
Such beautiful song...such beautiful voices. Such beautiful stars..so sad how McRae ended
She is just sheer elegance
I miss you Doris Day 😔💕
Ruhe in Frieden 🕊

Dang...Gordon MacRae were such a hottie and that voice...
Incredible rendering with this TechniColor print remastered from 35 millimeters original historical Hollywood musical with two international beloved screen stars. Bravo and merci beaucoup from Paris France.
Gordon MacRae was gorgeous

GORDON MACRAE , UNA DIVINA VOZ Y UN GRAN Y GUAPÌSIMO HOMBRE . ERES GRANDIOSO .
I probably only watched this because of Big Edy but wow these two had awesome talent.
haha I was thinking about Big Edie, too, when they got to the part about the sh-sh-sugar cake ... what a lovable character
Absolutely beautiful! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Eu amo Doris Day. Eu sempre a achei linda. E tinha uma bonita voz. 😊
RIP Gordon MacRae
(1921-1986) who had died same as Heather Angel and Scatman Crothers who had died and passed away in the same year 1986 and I'm sorry, it's life and it's nature's way and we can't control it.
At least we have our memories of them. Kodak moment!
The pianist look like Zorro (Guy Williams) 😎
Really two great singers.
Remembering Gordon Mc Rae Doris Day and Gene Nelson
This is awesome!
Back when singers actually had to have a voice
they still do - hence the term 'singing'
soooooo trueee
Luckily, we had a Drama teacher in High School who appreciated the charm of a 1920’s musical (ignoring the NOISE of contemporary stuff) so we could appreciate performing works of another Time and Place!
Gene Nelson has a great voice too
His singing dancing in oklahoma... Oh my!
Clássico!
Lyrics
I'm discontented with homes that are rented so I have invented my own
Darling this place is a lover's oasis
Where lights where we chase is unknown
Far from the cry of the city where flowers pretty caress the stream
Cozy to hide in,
To live side by side in, don't let it abide in my dream
Picture you upon my knee, just tea for two and two for tea
Just me for you and you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations or weekend vacations
We won't have it known, dear, that we own a telephone, dear
They will brake and you'll awake and start to bake a sugar cake
For me to take for all the boys to see
We will raise a family, a boy for you and a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we will be
That was great but......Where are the tap dancers?
Oh, honey
Picture me upon your knee
With tea for two and two for tea
Just me for you and you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations on weekend vacations
We won't have it known, dear
That we own a telephone, dear
Day will break and I'll awake
And start to bake a sugar cake
For you to take, for all the boys to see
(Oh, darling)
We will raise a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we will be?
Picture you upon my knee
Tea for two and two for tea
Me for you and you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations on weekend vacations
We won't have it known, dear
That we own a telephone, dear
Day will break and I'm gonna wake
And start to bake a sugar cake
For you to take, for all the boys to see
We will raise a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
Oh, can't you see how happy we will be?
(How happy we will be?)
Want to see this. When will it be put up?
Doris Day was the Julie Andrews of her time.
Fred Virtuoso So is Doris Day, didn't even know she did stage work.
I'm a fan of both. Both had incredible voices.
Helen Vivas ‘Tea for Two’ by Avalon - is a gem also

In our weaponized " MeToo" witch hunting woke society Gordon McRae would have been jailed, next to Cuomo! Hahahahaha 😄
Doesn't mean women liked it -- my mom had to have all the neighbors on the look out in case they saw the PI newspaper truck in the hood. My uncle was like stalking her -- no it's not alright! Here here to the Me Too Movement and Women's lib in general!
Ich hab sie immer bewundert bis ich das mit Kennedy erfahren habe. 👎
