Such a lovely scene. Such wonderful voices. The golden age of Hollywood. I just wish there's a time machine to bring me to that era and I'll stay there for good.
This is back when people dressed elegantly when they went out in public. There were no pajamas and slippers and hair wrapped in a sloppy bun on top of the head. The irony is that they were far less affluent than we are. Look at documentary footage from pre-1960, it is amazing. Men actually wore jackets and ties to football games.
Incredible rendering with this TechniColor print remastered from 35 millimeters original historical Hollywood musical with two international beloved screen stars. Bravo and merci beaucoup from Paris France.
RIP Gordon MacRae (1921-1986) who had died same as Heather Angel and Scatman Crothers who had died and passed away in the same year 1986 and I'm sorry, it's life and it's nature's way and we can't control it.
Lyrics I'm discontented with homes that are rented so I have invented my own Darling this place is a lover's oasis Where lights where we chase is unknown Far from the cry of the city where flowers pretty caress the stream Cozy to hide in, To live side by side in, don't let it abide in my dream Picture you upon my knee, just tea for two and two for tea Just me for you and you for me alone Nobody near us to see us or hear us No friends or relations or weekend vacations We won't have it known, dear, that we own a telephone, dear They will brake and you'll awake and start to bake a sugar cake For me to take for all the boys to see We will raise a family, a boy for you and a girl for me Can't you see how happy we will be
Luckily, we had a Drama teacher in High School who appreciated the charm of a 1920’s musical (ignoring the NOISE of contemporary stuff) so we could appreciate performing works of another Time and Place!
Oh, honey Picture me upon your knee With tea for two and two for tea Just me for you and you for me alone Nobody near us to see us or hear us No friends or relations on weekend vacations We won't have it known, dear That we own a telephone, dear Day will break and I'll awake And start to bake a sugar cake For you to take, for all the boys to see (Oh, darling) We will raise a family A boy for you and a girl for me Can't you see how happy we will be? Picture you upon my knee Tea for two and two for tea Me for you and you for me alone Nobody near us to see us or hear us No friends or relations on weekend vacations We won't have it known, dear That we own a telephone, dear Day will break and I'm gonna wake And start to bake a sugar cake For you to take, for all the boys to see We will raise a family A boy for you and a girl for me Oh, can't you see how happy we will be? (How happy we will be?)
Doesn't mean women liked it -- my mom had to have all the neighbors on the look out in case they saw the PI newspaper truck in the hood. My uncle was like stalking her -- no it's not alright! Here here to the Me Too Movement and Women's lib in general!

I probably only watched this because of Big Edy but wow these two had awesome talent.
haha I was thinking about Big Edie, too, when they got to the part about the sh-sh-sugar cake ... what a lovable character
Eu amo Doris Day. Eu sempre a achei linda. E tinha uma bonita voz. 😊
Absolutely beautiful! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Back when singers actually had to have a voice
they still do - hence the term 'singing'
soooooo trueee
The pianist look like Zorro (Guy Williams) 😎
Really two great singers.
RIP Gordon MacRae

Remembering Gordon Mc Rae Doris Day and Gene Nelson
Oh, honey
Picture me upon your knee
With tea for two and two for tea
Just me for you and you for me alone
Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No friends or relations on weekend vacations
We won't have it known, dear
That we own a telephone, dear
Day will break and I'll awake
And start to bake a sugar cake
For you to take, for all the boys to see
(Oh, darling)
We will raise a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
Can't you see how happy we will be?
Picture you upon my knee

Gene Nelson has a great voice too
His singing dancing in oklahoma... Oh my!
Doris Day was the Julie Andrews of her time.
Fred Virtuoso So is Doris Day, didn't even know she did stage work.

WOW
In our weaponized " MeToo" witch hunting woke society Gordon McRae would have been jailed, next to Cuomo! Hahahahaha 😄
