- In Episode 41 of the collection I take a close look at the new Phantasm II Sphere from Paragon FX Group. I also compare it to every other version of a Phantasm sphere I own including my screen used one from Phantasm III.

Hey Sean, I was Steve Patino's FX assistant on Phantasm 2 and I helped create all of the spheres for that film! I also created that memorial plaque for Patino that you show a photo of in this video! I still have all of Patino's original production designs from P2 and I have all of the actual specs and drawings for the spheres, I am the only one in the world with those. So I can say with some authority that although that P2 sphere replica is really nice it is definitely not accurate. Not trying to hate on it because they did a great job, but you were asking if anyone knows if it is accurate or not. So just thought I'd chime in. If you ever want to chat about it or if your buddies at Paragon FX want the actual specs let me know, I love talking about creating the spheres for P2! Cheers!
Love to chat with you sometime. Message me through IG if you can.
Hell yeah!! Steve's the focking man!!!
@@CobwebsandCandlesticks Haha!! Thanks Keith, and right back at you buddy!!!
That would be cool if they got the specs right, with some help.
Hi. I just ordered the screen used sphere from phantasm 2 through propstore. Any info you can provide on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I bought a replica online about 6 years ago for $140 and the following year I met the remaining original cast at a Scare-A-Con and had them all sign it!! PHANTASM is one of my favorite horror movies.
Phantasm the most underrated horror series..great characters and weird story..Tuning forks and floating spheres with Jawas..the music is also epic.
Hi Sean. I just ordered the screen used sphere from phantasm 2 through propstore. I will be taking it to the phantasm reunion at scarefest in Kentucky in October. If you would like to correspond or meet up to do a video let me know.
Why phantasm is important to me, because the film was shot at the dunsemere house in Oaktown CA when I was a kid. When it came out I was intrigued after reading in one of the movie monster magazines that the dwarves inspired George Lucas's Jawas 😂❤🌎
Am I the only one that notices the Paul Stanley autographed Iceman on the wall ?
Is the Kubrick carpet from Middle of Beyond?
Enjoy all the Collections video's Sean - The Phantasm films were great, I now need to go have a re-watch session.
Sean!! You did it again!! Spheres were totally bomb! I loved phantasm as a kid! It scared me and made me love horror movies ! I just searched all of your grabs on eBay and now I can have all the dvds and spheres for $197.78! Unfortunately no COAs we all need those COAs if signed or prop used DUH! You the man!
Watching you confused to wether you’re “in business” or not has been the highlight of my day 😅
Hello Sean great Chanell I love it and I was trying to workout where I have seen that pattern on the rug/carpet you are sitting on 1st I thought maybe Clockwork Orange and then boom it hit me with the whole conspiracy theory when you see the pattern in reverse and one of the all greatest films of all time The Shinning . The documentary film Room 237 explains a lot of this. If I am talking about the greatest horror films of all time always have to mention Dawn of the Dead. Thanks again for all your great content and collection of items you have 10/10
I can clearly remember the TV spot for the original Phantasm and how much it scared me and really intrigued me and gave me this need to know more about it..also unknowingly to me i had become a fan of not only that movie but the entire franchise,a franchise that sits proudly at the top of my horror movies fandom.
I have the Anchor Bay DVD sphere as well as the Arrow Blu-Ray with the latter being one gorgeous set
I’ve got the P2 sphere from Nightmares Unlimited, liked the drill bit used in that version better. Mine is rock solid, no shaking or looseness at all, no change out weapons thought. Heavy and fully metal. Base that came with it is the same as what you showed.
Nightmare's Unlimited has made a amazing base for them. I'm sure you already know. But they are impressive and a must have for my spheres.
Big Phantasm Fan, more so because of the Cuda' but would love to have a sphere for my collection. Great video as always man!
Great video as usual. I really enjoyed watching you play with your balls.
Hey Sean. I don’t know we might be around the same age. But if you expire out before me please will your collection to me brother!!!
I hate the WellGo packaging...I like keeping the sphere in the box but in order to get the blu rays out you have to take out the sphere. I got a six disc case and made my own cover art based on the box art to put the discs in and I left the disc case in the box
Great video, man! Is that the original old man mask from Terror Train I see to your right?
Yes it is but not screen used.
If I had a collection of spheres I would make the box that was like the one in the film where the priest opened the box and touched one of them which hurt his finger that with the spheres would look amazing .
That is what Paragon should try and do next. With the Gold sphere in the middle. That would rule.
Hi Sean, do these replicas float? :)
I’m sure you’ve probably answered this a time or two but do you by chance remember where you got that overlook rug at?
I still have my UK set here of my balls lol pardon my pun lol i also have the USA set as well. nice video mate
Are you going to get the Gold sphere as well that saws into the mortician
Really disappointed with my Phantasm Sphere from Paragon. First, it is not made out of metal as advertised it is made out of wood and was covered with vac-metalized chrome. You can see that it is wood inside where the prongs and drill bit stick in. Mine is also not perfectly spherical it is slightly warped and deformed. Also when you try to display it on the acrylic stand the weight of the prongs and drill pulls it down. Also there’s a round discoloration mark or stain on one side in the chrome where the acids from the styrofoam packing touching it caused it to discolor an orangish yellow stain in the chrome. I’ve tried everything to polish this out: chrome polish, emory cloth, white vinegar and backing soda… nothing removes the discoloration stain in the chrome. Really disappointed and wish that I could have returned it but the retailer I purchased it from had a no return policy on open box collectibles. My first and last purchase from this company.
First off it isn't wood. Every piece is metal including the sphere that is chromed steel. If there are issues with it send it back and I'm sure they will take care of you.
@@malfuncsean oh it’s wood alright. The prongs are metal as well as the $3 drill bit you can buy from Home Depot. Light weight and hollow and you can actually see the wood that was painted black where the inserts go. If it was metal it would certainly have more heft. Just knock on it and you can hear the difference between metal and wood. It’s a cheap cost-cutting corner they made. If i had bought it from Paragon directly I most certainly would have returned it immediately. I made the mistake of buying it from a vendor who wouldn’t accept returns of opened collectibles after the manufacturer’s seal had been cut. Next time I will read the fine-print before placing my pre-order. Truly disappointed by the quality of this licensed item. Should have purchased a much better fan-made prop replica instead.
@@decadentdave Sounds like you may have been screwed by the seller. There is no way mine is wood.
Yeah I am not sure where you get wood from. Mine is metal as well. I noticed the weight issue, but you can position it on the stand in such a way it doesn't drop down.
@@malfuncsean nope not by the seller by the manufacturer. Btw why did the Prop Store ban you?
Phantasm didn’t rip off Star Wars! It was a tribute to Star Wars.
The gloves are a nice touch for a collection like yours
Getting that thing in your head is what I call the ultimate headache.
we all live together on this little blue ball.. love from the UK
Letttts goooo....Boi.so stoked.
Boooooyyyyyy!!!!- The Tallman
Dude u have such a dope and incredible collection! Great video btw absolutely love Phantasm!
Thank you.
Bro i love that area rug it really ties the room together.
Have you done a reveal video of the Freddy glove ?
Looking very slim lately
Where is the sphere from the original Phantasm?? BOY!
I'd like to think Don Coscerelli has it.
Can you write off any props you buy for your RUclips channel since it’s used for production in your videos?
I need to look into that...
That's totally cool I like that
It's all about the colletch.
I went to grab one of these from Paragon right away and they're already gone. On a waitlist now.
Wow! He just told me they didn't have many left. I guess my video helped!
I bet Shawn has the 71' cuda diecast too. Lucky duck.
I actually do.
Big Phantasm fan here, but I don't have any collectables outside of the films. I haven't found a suitable figure of Angus Scrimm yet that didn't suck. This sphere from Paragon looks perfect though.
Great video! Love the collection! As I always say, What Coscarelli don't know, won't hurt him. And as far as your new ball not being numbered; then it's number 1. Are you lying? No. Are you misleading? No. Are you crazy? Well... See you next time.
Prop store gloves lol.
Love the video, would love to see a video about collecting in the 90s.
Great to see all versions & sizes of the Spheres! I definitely do love how Paragon FX’s version is clearly the shiniest of the group! 🤘
I need sum Silver Balls 4 Christmas tree ornaments.
They are really nice.
Sean that was awesome to see the different collectable spheres out there.
But you forgot the most important thing, the one thing that you have to remember, and the message everyone must to know.
The Funeral is about to Begin....SIR!!!!
Screen used Phantasm sphere, Halloween 3 jack-o’-lantern T-shirt and The Shining rug!? Just wow!👍🎃
Thanks to Sean for making me aware of them . Got my Creepshow ash tray and it was everything I wanted . Truly excels at holding morning vitamins I lay out night before . Seriously it looks and feels great . I’ll be watching them in future for replicas .
I got one too after seeing Sean's! It's awesome! I use mine as a book end.
@@stuntmanmike37 the beauty of the ashtray is most will think it’s tacky riff raff and say nothing . But the awesome people will spot it in your home and flip out and now you know who is truly in your tribe !
Sean, the “collechh is superb!! When is was basically a kid I saw that movie freaked me out, that flying sphere was the coolest part for me!!🔥👍😎🎃
One thing this guy gots so awesome artifacts
It’s so awesome that you own a screen used sphere! Great video Sean, i could stop checking out all the awesome items you have in your toy room. What are the tin Halloween 2 things on the floor to the left (facing you)? You got so many cool collections, love the Randotti skull in the background bunch of nostalgia. Thanks man.🤘🏻🎃🤘🏻
Collec-Shawn
Love your videos Sean!
I'm coming over to Santa Cruz to do my own Lost Boys pilgrimage!
I'm also hoping to visit other film locations but it may need some more homework!
I'm in the UK but it's a trip in the making for almost 40 years!
I got my Phantasm sphere from Paragon about a month ago and am super happy with it. Their customer service is top notch as well. Had a small issue with the original order online and they were right on it with a direct call to me and very friendly folks wanting to help. Cannot recommend them enough.
So cool man 🤘
Very nice collection. Love the Phantasm series. Received a signed cd/dvd from the Regman himself for one of my birthdays.
Hell yeah 🤟🤟 Happy Tuesday indeed!! Love the prop vids.. who am I kidding, all of Sean’s vids kick ass!!!
A most excellent video on the Phantasm Sphere and have you seen any think on Miramax developing a Halloween TV series
is that a nightowl creep in the bottom left of the video?
Night owl Thrasher
Still have the Christmas ornament spheres?
Do I? Yes of course. I believe they are still available for sale on their website too.
🤘❤️🤘
Awesome collection, but the absence of talcum powder is concerning.
Are any of the newer replicas made of metal? I know you said the blades were metal, as well as the drill bit.
Yes they are metal. Chromed steel to be exact.
@@malfuncsean awesome. What about the screen used one?
The only problem? No ball powder.
All balls were powdered before the cameras started rolling.
Do you ever give tours? And how Do you keep your collection dust free?
Superb video ! Love me some Phantasm ! Nice collection !
there's also a sphere replica in the Region B Arrow bluray set.
Fantastic! Truly great showcase.
About time Sean lol! Me and my fiance have been binge watch all your stuff especially the two heads! Excellent content sir, I'm sharing your stuff with all my friends! Chris and Erika, Spokane Wa. Tell Chris we love him too. Take it easy !
Much appreciated!
You're a $$RICH$$ man Sean... cool we finally got to meet you this past Friday in KC... Hopefully again sometime at a future Crypticon where we'll have a little more time to chat a bit... 🍻
Great to see you this past weekend.
Thanks for this guide. Also i like the remixed otro music.
Been trying to make one on the cheap. Cool collection
I've met Angus Scrimm, I actually met him in an airport lounge! He was such a lovely gentleman, and was delighted when I mentioned I love Phantasm. When I said about his past career of writing album liner notes for bands like The Beatles, he chuckled! So sad he passed. It's so cool that a film can have an iconic prop that can actually be easily and relatively inexpensively replicated.
I was fortunate enough to have met Angus on numerous occasions. You couldn't meet a nicer man.
Very cool man alot of awesome stuff in there Sean.
Manythnx! Amazing stuff..
Side note: where did you get that rug????
Middle of Beyond
@@malfuncsean thank you!
Truly an impressive collection 🤘
Saw you at KC Comicon! Wanted to say hi but didn’t get a chance, love your videos
You should have stopped me and said hello.
Thanks for the video.😊
Love a good old collection video 👌🏽🎃
My absolutely favorite channel.
You have great taste btw. ;-)
On your intro what is the Bub display?
It's a replica bust made by Russ Lukich. I've had it for close to 15 years. I'm actually considering parting with it to make room for more screen used stuff.
Yooo
great collection
That could be fun.
1:08 I bought that in a London HMV years back for only £5. The plastic stabbers snapped off so at least it can't attack me, I guess.
Great video , Sean! Very cool collection🩵 and you were on the set of Phantasm 3 ?! That's amazing! The sphere that I have is for the arrow blu ray set
Yes very lucky to have been on set indeed. And we did videotape a lot of it so I will be working that footage into my Phantasm 3 filming locations video and I'm sure fans will love it. It will be kind of like I did with my Dawn of the Dead episode using the old footage with the new.
@malfuncsean that's awesome look forward to checking it out
