Fitz, Great video! This is the best way to watch a video like this! 34:00 Great music choices. Nobody hurriedly talking over the background crowd noise. Bravo!
Congratulations to each and everyone of the fellow builders of each and every single model in this beautiful footage! It’s just amazing all the time and effort involved into building, painting, every beautiful airplane, vehicle, and other’s shown here. They are all masterpieces! Thank you very much for shearing with us!
I've only built a few models in my life, and these are an inspiration to behold. Absolutely amazing works of art. Sadly there's no guilds in my country, but thankfully there's a few hobby shops, and the one store owner is a nice guy. Have to show him this as soon as I can.
I've been painting planes for 58 years and I think I'm good, but these beauties are out of my league! Love the F.16s, the most amazing plane ever built!
Thank you for a superb presentation. I watched it in three parts as I played it at half speed to dwell a bit longer on the models. I watched the first part at full speed though as it would have been sacrilege to spoil one of the finest pieces of music ever written! Hats off to all the modelers who displayed their work, absolutely stunning stuff on show. Regards from the U.K.
Amazing talent! This post motivated me to double-down and reduce my unbuilt plastic model inventory collected over 20 years. Need to get them out of their temp. controlled bins and out for others to experience for me.
Boy I miss model building. Unfortunately my eyesight has deteriorated and arthritis has limited the use of my hands now but still enjoy looking at others works.
Oh someone please tell me where the Pilot Busts at 1:56:15 can be purchased, who makes these? They are stunning. I want two of each. Does anyone know? Thank you.
@@HobbyView Aye, thank you. I think next years IPMS National show is in Wisconsin? Guess I need to book my flight soon. I'm a big WW1 Aero nut and those Pilot Busts with their aeroplanes will look so nice in a wall mounted display. Thank you.
What about the average modeler? Why are we left out? There are so many works of art here it is truly incredible. Each and every one deserves to win in its own way, bravo to all of you ! That begets a sad problem. The people that enjoy the hobby but do not have the time to build a beautiful scale replica are universally left out. Where is the category for us average builders? Those of us that only have time to work on rainy weekends because of work and have to many other bills to pay first. Those without the latest airbrush and decal technique. Mostly out of the box, but we do a good job with what we have. I have never understood why model companies leave this portion of the market left out. (Make no mistake model companies, in some way, are the driving force behind contests.) So why leave the average modeler out of the contest? I encourage anyone that I talk to about how fun it is to model. I love to show off my average looking, but far from super detailed models and some become interested. Then they see things like the masterpieces here, and say "no point, I will never be that good" and pass up a great hobby. There are hundreds of scale replica builders, how many more thousands of average builders are giving their money to other hobbies that are not so exacting. Everyone is poorer for the lost participation and companies from all facets loose money. If I can figure out how to do this average category, certainly somebody else can.
Average modelers are not left out. There is nothing stopping an 'Average' or even a poorly built model from entering the show. In fact, most shows have a box stock category and youth categories as a more entry level category. Many events even have spaces for just displaying models and not be judged as part of the competition. No model show turns away anyone that wants to enter their model. There is no screening or vetting of contestants. That said, do you go to a car show or beauty pageant and ask for average cars or average looking women? Lastly, many of the local modeling clubs collaborate with their local libraries for occasionally displaying models. Again no barrier or restrictions to display average models. The only restriction is you... Last thought, how would you judge the most average-y of average models? Sounds like a Monty Python skit. "You sir have won the award for extreme excellence in being just average, well done ole chap!" :D
@@HobbyView , on my personal opinion, been there, even if i did not win , is the experience you feel and see, not matter how good you think you are, there are better than you but that inspire you to do better, i was an experience that you will remember for years
Your production is the best I have seen, blurred walk by videos don't do justice to the artform. Maybe training Videos would help. The builds were great,I could tell! Thank you.

Fantastic video, great musical accompaniment! Thanks for sharing so many beautiful works.
Wow so many excellent models, great video, really gets me motivated to do better.
Very good coverage of this event. Unlike some videos where they just walk down the aisle, you really took the time to show off each model.
Thank you

Outstanding works of art and each model have different piece of history.
I love those early biplanes. A thing of beauty. Very nice. Good job to all the builders.
Amazing, simply amazing. the attention to detail shown here has always been my issue with my scale models.

Scratch and Conversions was always my favorite. I miss the old Revell, Monogram and AMT kits from the 70s.
Great builds all around! That UN Defender was awesome! I hope one day I can enter my own models in the IPMS Expo's

Yes, what is wrong with a best of the average? Other than snobbery? @@HobbyView
@@tankertom3243 , Nothing at all wrong with average models. Just nearly impossible to quantify in a competitive setting.

Nice video, music too.
That singing has me thinking about starting a Pig Latin quartet. It'd have to be better than rap.
Savage bobber maiden please 🤩
The albedo among the participants seems to be rather high. I wonder why that is.
2:01:48 😮
I need to pull out some old plastic models and get to work.
Yes, you do.
Lots of talent for sure. However, there was a bunch more air racing planes and we only saw 1 example in this video.

So beautiful I want to eat them
that music
It is Luwig van Beethoven's "Ode to Joy." You have great taste!
I'm sure there were ships at the show. Guess you're not interested.
Err, what? Look again: 1:07:30

I think that, for accuracy sake, all the Russian military equipment should be shown as burning wrecks dioramas.
The music is so aggressive and very annoying . . . I watched on mute, lots of nice models.
You lost me at Texas.....'y'all. Byeeee.
`THAT MUSIC MAKES THIS UNBEARABLE
The music was obnoxious.
Lol
First time I've heard Beethoven's ninth symphony described as obnoxious. Still, each to their own.
