- Hand drawn animation sketched out by The Correspondents' very own Mr Bruce. He spent an age doodling away using an app on his phone and a dodgy bit of animation software....then he ran out of steam!

I understand how it feels to be committed to something like this and be frustrated when it's not finished, but you guys could've probably just taken pieces of the animation and just looped them. Most videos to songs look that way, anyways. This being said, you guys seem to put in more personal work and creative effort than a lot of people whose songs (not written by themselves) absolutely blow up, and I appreciate both the ethic and the honesty. Please keep at it!

It should be stated that in the animation industry, LOOPing and REUSing old animation is a given.
judging by the narrative of the song I believe the "unfinished" is entirely on purpose, it is what they call 'meta'

I might be reading too deep into it, but I feel like the animation being 'unfinished' was done on purpose, as it matches the feel of the song perfectly.

There's something weirdly more artistic about this than a finished animation.
Even though it's unfinished it's still dope as hell

I love both this song and the animation. I actually quite enjoy the fact that you ran out of steam and, rather than trashing it, admitted to it and still showed what wonderful work you had done. It always hurts to run out of creativity, especially for a project you have already put so much work and effort into. It's beautiful, just the way it is.
As someone who works professionally in animation, I just have to say that this is A Mood.
Mr. Bruce might just as well write a song about how he run out of steam.

That's a good honest reveal of the horrors of what animating actually look like.
Really, the fact that this is unfinished actually adds another layer to this song. I don't know if you intended it, but this is a really clever music video. I think there's some social commentary that can be gleamed from the fact that this is unfinished too. It's not unfinished. It can be interpreted as a statement about how society is pushing us to breaking point. It's art and it is complete. And it's brilliant. I almost fell off my chair at the brutal honesty of this video. This song has balls - the video has it too. Well done!

I'm surprised that you even *(successfully)* attempted animating with your art style. I'm seriously impressed by the fact that you can animate nearly a full minute of surrealism.
Hell, I was a Flipnote Studio user. I tried surrealism and got maybe a few seconds of footage after eight collective hours of neck pain. Scrapped it without a second thought.

I actually hear "sullen-faced", which makes more sence to me
When the universe ends, everything starts to render poorly, maybe some holes in everything here and there, and it doesn't go out in a bang. Everything suddenly is black and white, and all motion stops. Time ceases to exist. You were looking at the sky at the time. Then you see something being written in the sky. "At this point i completely run out of steam."
I remember listening to Fear and Delight years ago. Really sad to learn about Cole's passing. Love your music x
Honestly, if there was a song to run out of steam doodling a music video for, this was probably the one to do it. Thats not against the song at all, its more "I was animating a music video, but now I'm the only one not smiling."

If anything, running out of steam might be a fitting end to the video! Being the only one not smiling can be really lonely and emotionally exhausting.
It took me a moment to appreciate the subtle genius of the slow zoom in the rewound punch scene, seeing as it fills the screen when he says "phone."

Man, I’m always excited to see a new song! Doesn’t much matter if you didn’t manage to get the whole thing animated. The fact that you put so much effort into all your music videos is already a lot more than most a lot of music channels, really. This song’s a bop no matter how it’s presented!

From the first RUclips I saw on my wife’s recommendation, the time my whole family watched you live at Guilfest and all that has happened since, you have been an inspirational spirit with immense talent, keep going you are nowhere near peaking yet.
Its great to see how much effort you put into the things you do. This animation is amazing, and I appreciate that rather than recycling and looping some bits of it you just released it as is. Personally I dislike looping content, as it tends to get boring. The song is great too!

It looks awesome as hell! Unfinished or not, you did such an amazing job! 👏👏👏 Beyond talented on many different levels and ways! Also, you should do a video where the fans help animate it. Where a fan each gets a part and it's all in their different styles. That way you get a break and no one animates a entire whole video for once.

The first song I listened to by you guys was Alarm call. It was in my mix from youtube, and I was like. "who the poop is this?" And oh by golly how I'm happy to have remembered the name. Ever since my mix has blown up with all your songs and now I have the lyrics of a good few memorized. Love the style and the meaning. Even my little 8 year old brother almost begs for me to play your guy's songs.
i love this, for what was accomplished in the animation and the absolute relatability of the scenario.

This is amazing. I love every single thing about it. From the in progress stuff to the completed. The whole video's fitting so well with the music itself, and honestly you can take as long as you'd like with the video, as long as you need. Don't feel that you have to finish it now. I'm still gonna jam out to this song later and so will others. And we'll all enjoy when it's finally out.

so since there arent many comments im guessing this one will be seen. i must say mr. bruce in inexplicable and fear and delight look very different. it may be bc one video is ca. 9 years older than the other one but they look like 2 different humans i rly wouldnt think that theyre the same guy, im guessing this is mainly bc of the hair
Well, you have to consider that in Inexplicable, he was wearing enough makeup to make a video in full color look like it was in black and white, and he wouldn't have needed all that makeup for Fear and Delight, because it was actually in black and white.
