Just my two cents, this is probably the most durable and versatile bait I've ever used. I spent the last 3 days here in Canada fishing with all 3 sizes of the GOAT exclusively. One of the best fish catching weekends I've ever had. Used one of each for all 3 days and caught about 50+ of bass and pikes without the plastics tearing at all. Pikes were chewing on the Billy Goat for me and I can still use the same one for my next trip. Caught a 6lb green monster with the Baby Goat on a 1/4oz jighead. The action just seems to trigger bites regardless of lure size. I used to go through at least 10 packs of lures for these 3 day trips. I used 1 lure from each pack lol. I'm 100% sold on the Z-Man elaztechs. Also, a lot of great tips in this video that I'll definitely put to use. I learned about the weight vs buoyancy this weekend, you really have to go heavier than normal for these elaztechs to get that fast fall.
The goat is so versatile. Billy goat and regular are good for buzzbaits and heavy flipping. The baby goat is killer for Ned rigs and chatterbaits. Though the regular one can work very good for a chatterbait.
Yes it is. I use it on everything. Spinnerbait, chatterbait, swim jig, TR, Tokyo, drop shot …. Just wish they make it in the purple demon or purple rain color.
I tried the goat as a trailer on a chatterbait. The tail did not even move. No kicking whatsoever. I took it off and put on a Yum Christie Craw. It kicks. Not a crazy amount because the chatterbait blade disturbs the water which affects the tails. That is why TacticalBassin suggests if you use a paddle tail as a trailer to put it on upside down. More kick. But for me on a chatterbait, I will use the Christie Craw. I will use the goat on a buzzbait or on its own. But I don't think I will buy them again. Only Z-Man product so far I am a little disappointed in. Just a little.
I’m not sure why it didnt have much kick for you. Sometimes they get deformed if they aren’t perfect in the pack. Chatterbaits do create a lot of turbulence that affects the way trailers normally act, so I definitely dont see as much kick from baits on a Chatterbait as i would expect by themselves.
I have my order of the GOATs, in all 3 sizes, on the way now! Minnesota C&R bass opener is only 2.5 weeks away. I know you southerners are going "????" but the ice just came off the lakes here a less than a month ago. Looking to try them out in all the ways Miles mentioned and then some. The baby GOAT should be an awesome trailer for my compact flipping jigs?! As Miles mentioned, the elaztech baits are much more bouyant and the fall rate is slower than a comparably sized and shaped standard plastic bait. My rule of thumb is to up size the weight, jig, etc. one level (1/4 to 3/8, 3/8 to 1/2, 1/2 to 3/4, 3/4 to 1oz. etc.) to get the same fall rates.

And despite just getting my bass pro order... I now need these.
Thats what the advertisement video is for :)
Have you tried it on a swing head jig aka Biffle jig.
I’ve been crushing the largemouth with the Billy Goat as a Trailer on the Crosseyed Chatterbait 1/2oz and can’t wait to put it on my buzzbaits.

That would be a good addition to the lineup for sure!

Definitely try them out.
What size line do you recommend to buzz around on Topwater? And should I use braid?
I use 50lb braid. Braid is definitely the way to go.
What size hook? 4/0? 5/0?
your hat is beautiful.
