I know its ai but summoning horseman looks cool af but once they rach the targets, they cluster and sit on top of each other, wish they stayed a bit far apart so we can enjoy the visuals
That was the exact problem with demonology pets, especially with the pitlord talent. Once the pitlord got to the enemy's feet, he would clip through the other 15+ demons that are summoned during the ability so you couldn't see him. It's just common sense stuff but for some reason blizz can't see it.
Technically a lot of the more well received hero talents are all passive. For example Diabolist and Sunfury. It’s about presentation. And summoning the Four Horsemen is a pretty cool presentation
San'layn gives a lower bound of 17.5% (10.5% + 21%(0.33 DT uptime)) effective haste buff, which is pretty close to a permanent PI assuming you can maintain all 7 stacks. Depending on how many death coils you can get out during DT, you can get over a PI worth of value. That right there solves unholy DKs reliance on haste early on in the expansion. Also, if you get funneled PI's, you will have around a 0.3-0.4 uptime on PI, which provides you an effective haste of 7%. So depending on your generative value of the upper bound of the San buff, you are getting close to 200% more effective haste over most encounters. The tree makes the haste buff seem minor given everything else going on in the tree, but its actually quite game changing for the spec depending on its uptime.
I thought that too but warrior condemn in SL actually spend your resources for big hitter, while we again have runic overflow issues with this wet noodle strike for yet another expansion, the increased 10.5% haste still won’t solve that problem.
Both look about as good as I expected. I’m just really hoping for a small rework where they put superstrain where soul reaper is, make reaper baseline and where superstrain is now put in Abomination. No idea why they dumped that talent post Legion.
I was so disheartened when I saw xero changes for DK, I really hope that they are working on something and just aren't ready to show it off yet, its gonna be a rough time in War Within if nothing changes.
As a long time playing UH DK. I am kinda disappointed with Rider of Apoc, its just more minions and dont add anything new. I always imagined they would get rid of the fact we had several little adds and gave us one Abomination in which we would feed our Runic Power into the pet during Dark Transformation windows. Which would allow interesting things to happen. Maybe even changing our abilities in said window.
At 09:23 did your blood beast just explode for 218k? If so and thats supposed to be uncapped aoe. That seems really strong. Also could there be a build where you focus on summoning as many and you can?
@@thelastspectre8141 Tuning and numbers can always fluctuate, especially since this is early alpha, and we have 6-7 months left. Hypothetically, by the time the expac releases, the numbers could be horrible. I think it's more proper to recognize and comment on the synergy the hero talents bring to the table.
My wet dream has always been for them to add a lone wolf talent for unholy. If they add that + the san'layn I'm 100% giving them extra money for the deluxe edition.
Underwhelmed by both for Unholy. Hoping for serious revisions before launch. Rider has fun features but I can imagine it's a bit bland after the novelty wears off, plus in a raid environment it's going to essentially be a series of passive buffs you'll scarcely notice with more clutter on the screen which the game absolutely does not need. San'layn just seems broken, I can't imagine that's what they intended - just spamming the hell out of scourge strike with zero GCDs spare to even spend RP because you're also using no runes? Come on. Unholy was nearly GCD locked as it is. Without serious work it looks like it's Deathbringer or bust if you want something new for DK.
I think for PvP, especially in the new solo RBG format, San'Layn is just going to be far superior. I don't think your Horseman will have enough uptime to be impactful and will likely just get caught in CC or scuffed by terrain/attack random targets, whereas San'Layn you're just going to be providing so much AoE and teamfight pressure ontop of being giga tanky through vampiric strike.
Honest question here (maybe if its too obvious) but did you have fun? :) Gameplay wise (don't care about the damage), which one was the most fun to play? I'm rerolling back to my DK just because of the 4 horsemans, but for real? San'layn have my attention as well so I was hoping they would be somehow equivalent to each other xD
Why blizz gives talents? Tbe illusion of choise? There is alway one build for tje class/spec. Hero talents isntje same stuff. That why players move to ff14 and gw2
They need to update those horses they are riding on. Come on, booty ass low rez horses from the wotlk xpac instead of the updated models they use in Legion from the battleground undead horse mounts...
Definitely not looking forward to San'layn in this form with current Unholy, hopefully there is a rework in the works that they are basing this San'layn off of and not live version.
When I play Unholy DK, i dont imagine myself as some rider of the apocalypse that calls on four other peeps on stiff, visually-dated horses...I imagine myself as a plate-claded necromancer. Wish they leaned into that with more undead. This rider of the apocalypse is a big miss to me.
@maxpowers4436 being a necromancer, which is summoning undead zombies/skeletons etc., is much different than phoning up a couple of guys riding horses to clip each other, in my opinion.
oh no... i just realized that On A Paler Horse hero talent says that you can mount in combat, but it doesn't say you can do combat while mounted... what if it really only means you can mount up, but not actually fight on mount...
Really dislike the play style for Sanlayn. Just ignoring wounds and RP to just spam scourge strike, talents just being rendered irrelevant, having to reapply diseases outside of DT. Really feel like my favorite spec got no good options for me with hero talents
If these are all the changes for the UDk, most likely War within will boring af.... I am really tired of the udk gameplay in keys.... the build didn't change for 3 seasons... UDK needs a massive rework tbh.
It still the same dk i dont see any difference what for they wont so much money no difference in look just so fu.. dmg what a piece of sh..... war within 😂

im surprised that this is the first TWW alpha video to pop up on my feed
Woooo
I'm not, Bicep delivers!
San'layn reminds me a little bit of Venthyr warrior from SL. Just spam 1 button ftw :D
I thought that too but warrior condemn in SL actually spend your resources for big hitter, while we again have runic overflow issues with this wet noodle strike for yet another expansion, the increased 10.5% haste still won’t solve that problem.
After seeing this, I think maybe San’Layn will be more interesting to play after some iteration. Rider is a bit bland.
Rider of the apocalypse looks cool on paper, but janky af in game
That's basically the feeling I've always had with DK. Looks and sounds so cool on paper, feels janky when in combat 😔
Both look about as good as I expected.

Probably working on it cause according to the hero talent dev post they mentioned dnd changes at least and thats not in alpha yet either.
They put out a post last night, they are working on DK changes.
So are we still a wheelchair class in raids and dungeons?
My only issue with San’Layn is the resource bloat. There’s got to be something else to help us spend more runes and rp.
this gameplay where you just spam 1 button repeatedly sounds really fun!!! bet it won't get old at all
Do you have any clips of mounted combat or the Death's Advance replacement?

They made Rider better for BoS as well. OOF
my dude is sleeping on death charger, actually insane mobility increase for dk in pve and pvp
If you have the talent Clawing Shadows, vampiric strike is range too ?
At 09:23 did your blood beast just explode for 218k? If so and thats supposed to be uncapped aoe. That seems really strong. Also could there be a build where you focus on summoning as many and you can?
even bigger at 13:57
@JabsYea 982k on aoe!, how is no one talking about the blood beasts over the diseases. That's 9 times stronger then when you consume all diseases

Yes
@@Bicepspump awesome cant wait for it
Does Vampiric Strike deal Shadow Damage? Weird with Clawing Shadows if not.
Will they update the death charger model?
I hope so because that thing is as ugly and low poly as the warlock Dreadsteed mount!

obliterate animation for the sanlayn scourge strike?
we need an easier rotation and istant damage..our abilities hits so bland
Won't you make a video about the trinkets to use this season 4 for unholy? i need list for Loot coucil haha, please :c
Soon

Sanlayn felt pretty cool, mostly because it was different
All I care about is not being a turtle while moving so rider seems more fitting to me

MoAR DOTS all iwant
At this point, all I want is doing good ST and AoE in M+ without having to swap 15 points or w/e.
Why they just don’t remove Festering wounds ? and give us something different instead of it 🤦♂️.
Just wht i wanted ignoring all other buttons so i can spam scourge strike in CDs, grand....
I just want the original trees from wotlk. Blood dps was the best.
Death knight really needs a rework, this looks so boring and I love this class and have since 2008
13:57 blood beast casually AoE critting for 982k, nothing to see here
PLZ can we ask to remove Purulent Strike for ever is just a useless hability and get wounds from other sources!!

oh no... i just realized that On A Paler Horse hero talent says that you can mount in combat, but it doesn't say you can do combat while mounted... what if it really only means you can mount up, but not actually fight on mount...
Could be, I was actually able to mount in combat
I think you can only use the acherus deathcharger for it to work and wont be able to work with other mounts??
