Excellent tutorial! TY! Know that there are more of us watching that do not know what to do than those who do. Learning from guys like you has helped me tremendously! Thanks again for your time!
Thanks Neil, I was a Testors spray gut for years, had a airbrush and used a few times, never happy with the results just a trial and error type thing. Back in the day there was no RUclips or anything for help except for books, after some time using different paints, found was working better and better, and here we are lol.. Thanks for watching and have a good one Neil!
Thanks again for fixing it. I really appreciate all the time we get to spend together and especially you taking the time to teach me how to paint better. It's beautiful, thank you! Awesome video and thanks for sharing! 😎👍👍
Your favorite part is my nightmare. I'm about to spray mcw for the first time on the 69 Camaro. That is why I went back to watch this video. Not only did you make me feel better about mixing the paint. But your technique was an eye opener for me. I have an Iwata with a non replaceable. 3 needle. But I also have a Gaahleri with a .3 and .5 I would have used the .5! Thanks for the information Kreg.
Thanks Joe, for checking out the videos, I have always had people ask on the mixing, can deter a lot, plus if it's not mixed ok your results may be discouraging not knowing if you mixed it right or the way you sprayed it. Once you get using this your paints will get better and better, one of those, just have to do it things. I would like to pick up a Gaahleri one day.. Have fun with it! Have any questions give me a shout..
Thanks Kenny, I enjoy showing others, that's the fun of the hobby is the share of info and to learn new tips and trick, I love watching how to videos.. Have a good one Kenny!
Well presented video . I like your method and you went in to just enough detail for somebody to do it like you do .excellent job on the video and the paint job
Thanks Robert, your a pretty good shot with the MCW paints yourself! You have some good looking paint jobs over there.. Yes that primer works nice I am out of there primer, I tried the Mr Color for my next go around, works good as well .. Have a good one!
Thanks Mike, I can not tell you how many times I have dumped a cup from those gloves lol.. Plus my finger tips don't have the felling in them like they use to. Have a good one!
Perfect timing, Kreg! I'm going to sand the body of my Chaser because I'm not happy with the paint on it. Going to let it sit while I run some errands and then give it another coat of paint.
Thanks JD, with the metallic paint I found the first few coats need to set and cure to fill in the gaps, I just did a second mustang in green and separated some, looks good though.
Thanks Scooter, I have been using this for about a year, I had a few mishaps the first few rounds, after some tweaking, has been working out good, Give it a try!
Thanks Alan, used the Testors cans forever, at first was just to time consuming getting the airbrush out and then clean up, now its just like second nature.. Have a good one Alan!
Love the Mr. Leveling Thinner. But I'm using Tamiya Acryls. I've been tempted recently to try the MCW paints though. What grit of sandpaper are you using to scuff the plastic prior to paint or primer?
Yes my favorite thinner. I have not yet tried the Tamiya Acrylics, normally I don't sand the plastic the enamel paint bits nice, this was a redo and the prev paint was sanded, I use 2000 for a repaint, and 2000 on the primer if I spray it first. I will always prim if I'm using lacquer, find it covers nice.. Have a good one!
@@kregskorner8851 Thanks for the info Kreg! I've been using the MCW paints with your mixture, needle size, and air pressure, and it is working beautifully!
Hey Kreg, I’m trying my first paint job with the MCW enamel paint, I bought some Blue metallic. Do I have to add a hardener to that ? Or just go with the leveling thinner. Thanks , Al
Hi Al, no you do not need the hardener, will just speed up dry time, I have found especially for blues give it a light coat of blue lacquer paint first, something close to your color. Wet sand if like, then shoot the MCW, will help fill in body lines without using a ton of paint.

Nice share here on your paint skills! The body getting color always seems very rewarding but I also like a well detailed engine bay.
Thanks Chris, I recently just started to detail the engine bays, and yes it is cool to look at sweet under hood detail job.. Have a good one Chris!

Great video sir. it's very helpful . i have spilled thinner before because of the gloves lol.

What exactly does the dehydrator do? What brand/model is the one in this video?

So, if I understand you correctly, you put twice as much thinner in the last coat of paint as the first mix?
I will add about .5 ml on the final coat to help level it better. you don't have to add anymore, more of a preference thing

What thinner do you find works best with The MCW paint enamel
Hey Jason, I have found Mr Hobby Leveling Thinner works the best, will give you a nice smooth coat..
Looks great! Do you clear over enamel?
Thanks John, Not very often, only if there is a lot of decals I might hit with clear.
Another long winded video.. get to the point!
