It’s all about options and once again, a good video providing those options for us. 🎙

I have a bike maintenance tripod from LIDL sturdy as hell and cheap. The top part (used to hold onto the bike) is basically a super clamp and so can be removed and used as such too if required. I also use a auger screw-in into the ground spiky sun umbrella thingy-ma-jig. It works pretty good too, you can even get metal ones and that would be better as it doubles as a ground nice spike. The bike tripod (technically, it has four legs) is the most stable and can be pegged down or weighted down if needed, 73!

Another option for the DIY fishing rod holder mount - 10" landscaping anchoring spikes work great where the larger (less sharp) pegs/posts won't penetrate hard or gravely ground.

When Chuck sees that, he hides.. because it's doggo shampoo! :D. I did have some Honey Vinegar stuff for my throat, but definitely no wine/liquor. :D

Thanks for the video. I’m always interested in ways to get antennas in the air. . . . I just made two mounts for my POTA 20 and SOTA Beams Carbon 6, from 1.75-inch OD PVC pipe and 3/8-inch aluminum rod (both form Home Depot). The two item were about $12 in total and I made two mounts with enough PVC pipe left for a couple more. I attached the pipe to the rod with a combination of strapping tape and then two layers of large heat shrink tubing (I already had the heat shrink). The pipe is about six inches and the aluminum rod is 18 inches. I left the rod extending an inch or two above the pipe so I wouldn’t hit the pipe with the hammer. I use a one-pound dead blow hammer to drive them into the ground.

A mast mount idea I had was to take a cheap hanging bike rack, cut it down so it won't interfere with opening the trunk, strap some PVC pipe to it that the mast will slip into.
Objective is a 60 second or less antenna deploy since I can not/will not permanently mount HF in the vehicle.

The real trick is to have a couple of Gear Ties from Home Depot on hand. You can often fine a shrub or something already in the ground that you can easily lash to

@@JonathanKayne it's true. In a pinch, 550 cord will do. By the way, I got my key kit

Dude, I went to my local Goodwill, they were out of stock on those tripods. 😢 I guess your videos creates demand for those things.
