- Author and analyst Gideon Levy says the Israeli army escalating tensions with Hezbollah and fighting wars on two fronts would be a “terrible mistake”. “Israel has some very good claims, namely that 60,000 people are away from their homes in the north, and they have the right to return,” Levy, a columnist with Israeli newspaper Haaretz, told Al Jazeera.
Meanwhile, Ali Rizk, a Security and Political Affairs analyst, joins Al Jazeera’s live from Beirut.

Israel attacked Gaza and committed war crimes which are still being assessed. Gaza was inside Israel. Lebanon will be difficult if not impossible. People should remember Faluja during the Iraq War. Lebanon is a separate country, of multinational citizens. Where Hezbullah is only one part. Israel bombed Gaza's citizens but it will not be able to do that in any invasion. Israel has lost over 500 soldiers in Gaza. It will lose tens of thousands in Lebanon, And it will be stuck in Lebanon for decades unable to end militancy.
