They first target the most vulnerable of the groups of people they hate (these days, it's usually trans children). If they are successful in marginalizing (or in this case, killing) those people, they pick the next most vulnerable group (in this case, other LGBTQ children). They start with targets with less public support, but will continue onward, targeting abortion access, marriage equality, immigrants, voting rights, social services for the poor, atheists, progressive protest movements, labor unions, mixed-race marriage, non-Christian religions, higher education, science, women who work outside the home, etc. It's a process, and Christian nationalism seems to be the ultimate goal.

That's always been the plan. Conservatives have used the same game plan over and over again. They first target the most vulnerable of the groups of people they hate (these days, it's usually trans children). If they are successful in marginalizing (or in this case, killing) those people, they pick the next most vulnerable group (in this case, other LGBTQ children). They start with targets with less public support, but will continue onward, targeting abortion access, marriage equality, immigrants, voting rights, social services for the poor, atheists, progressive protest movements, labor unions, mixed-race marriage, non-Christian religions, higher education, science, women who work outside the home, etc. It's a process, and Christian nationalism seems to be the ultimate goal.

A kid that is contemplating suicide (42%) needs the right to talk to whomever they feel comfortable with to keep from making that terrible choice, regardless of issue, affiliation or relative status. Some parents won't listen.
Kids often trust a teacher to tell the truth about a question they have when they’re unsure how their parents will react, or if they’ve started to question parental omniscience. When they’re old enough to ask a question, they’re old enough to deal with a truthful response from someone who knows how to respond with age-appropriate information - like maybe a trained child educator.
