I downloaded the elements thinking it would just look like the picture, not realising it was just a plugin - what software do I need to get it looking like in this video?
So does it matter how much headroom there is in the mix before adding and using Ozone to master? Or is it okay, as long as it's not clipping and you can just get it to the levels you want with Ozone? Been looking ar many video's but no one seems to mention anything about it. Does it matter in rhis case? Thanks!
If the file is digital, Not really to be honest. There's this concept of leave -6dB etc thats been passed along. But in digital you can use a gain control to give yourself headroom if needed an the signal is exactly the same. if its been bounced extremely low say at 16bit that could be an issue as its not using the bit depth.
@@UndersThanks for the quick reply! And what if there's a lot of headroom, like if there's say 12bd or more of headroom, will this matter when adding Ozone to it or not really?
@@UndersAnd by gain control, you mean like adding a gain plugin put on the master bus and controlling the volume from there to get your headroom? I know some do that, but others just use master bus fader directly. Many said it's technically the same thing as using a gain plugin. Thanks for your time. Great video too.
Learning from not so much, it gets pretty good starting points. But you definitely need to know where an what to nudge in the direction you want to take it. In DAW they stopped the standalone version.
I know this is a dumb question: but you hit the button to switch to master assistant, i don’t see the button for switching back? Like back to the master rack i set up so i can see the difference
@@Unders Gotcha, Thank you so much for responding, and I'm learning a ton from your channel. If I am understanding you correctly, I am exporting it to like a single file (mp3 or something), open it on a new project, drop that export there, then add the ozone plugin to that individual track, correct?
@@TommyGunzzz It's best to export your finished Mix as a WAV file then import the stereo WAV file into a new project. You then insert Ozone 11 onto your main output buss then run Master Assist.
What does Ozone 11 do if volume of different vocals tracks differ, so part of the vocals are softer than other parts but the beat and rhythm stay at the same volume? Does Ozone 11 modulate the volume of the vocals? Does it raise the volume of the section of vocals when the volume is softer? thnx
Hi i think i messed everything up, cuse i put ozon on every track.. but i just notised that u bounced out your file to one track and added ozon 11 is that how u do it?
Yeah it’s not designed to go on everything but more to bring everything together at the end. However there’s no rules and if what you did sounds awesome roll with it.
@@Unders thank you for the quick reply i will deff subscribe and like your channel ! I did this instead One bus with ozon 11 only instruments And an other for vocals. It works well for me 👌
Ok I can't find the vst for the main app to use Master Assistant. I see the main apps for 9 and 10 and each individual module for 11 Advanced but nothing to click on to open the main app. I'm using Reaper and 9 and 10 work perfectly but 11 is nowhere to b found outside of the individual modules. Any suggestions ?
🤔 nope sorry. For myself it’s worked like any previous version. Literally shows up as an individual plug called ozone 11. Maybe check reapers plugin database see if it passed verifiable?
For some reason I had to re-scan the vsts after some head scratching. Re-did a song I had done in 10 and after a few tweaks to MA it sounds really great according to my "fans" in comparison to 10. Thanks for the reply.
It’s by no means perfect and it’s definitely got limitations on what it can do. So if you have a very artistic mix or big sonic changes. That NEEDS a human to touch it.

I’m using it in Logic Pro. But as you don’t have a DAW there’s free for non profit options like Reaper you could use.
@@Unders smashing, worked great with Reaper, many thanks.
@TheBlokeNextDoorMusic happy that was what you needed.
So helpful! Can you get away with using ozone 11 for your mix/masters for DSPs vs hiring a mixer/masterer?
Absolutely. But I wouldn’t just trust the AI blindly, it’s more of a starting guide.

Sure. Plug-in 1 could be a gain knob. But most tools you’re using will also have their own input gain anyway.
Are the custom targets your own creations? I have nothing in that section
Yes they are created by me.
Is Elements worth buying and trying to learn from?
Is this a plugin in your DAW or standalone software?

I received a free code from focusrite to authorize Ozone Elements 11 good until January I believe, in case you own any focusrite products.

the option directly next to it.
Newbie here, do we need everything combined to one single track and then add ozone to use mastering assistant?
You would either have a stereo export if your track. Or the more modern workflow is to place it on stereo / master bus in your project.

@@TommyGunzzz WAV is the standard file format in all DAWs so it's best practice.

How do I open ozone 11?
@@IgibotsLot as a plugin in your DAW
Where is the button - Process? when you are happy with the mix to process it. I see the bypass but not process.
You would bounce it from your DAW.
Is it just me or is the master assistant way better than ozone 10?
It’s way better. Actually worth using for a fast set up now.
Apart from its insistence on using the impact tool in stupid ways.
It’s so loud the mix now
So dial it back to where it’s right for the music. Unfortunately everything is loud. Loud won’t the music war b
Just disable Maximizer
Super!! Shall we be friends?
because you no context spammed a comment.......
It doesn't work for me. It makes it sound worse
Make sure your mix is not clipping, ozone can't save that..

Witchcraft 😂😂😂😂😂
I said in the live "its actually VooDoo" the fact you can add saturation, to just the transients of just the percussion if you want to.
