    I love my 05 corolla. I was the second owner I bought mine with 79k miles now it was 106k miles on it. They only things Ive had to fix is the axle and ball joints and the exhaust. The engine runs like a champ. Not very fast but fast enough to pass other cars and the fuel economy is wonderful . I get 34 mpg or better Best was 44.7 mpg on a 500 mile road trip worst was 28.7 mpg many short trips and stops and starting and idling in cold weather.

    A great daily driver. Reliability more than makes up for lack of sportiness

    I wish Toyota didn't change their seat design every few years and just made them like these. These seats are very comfortable. Comfortable seats, great steering feel, great suspension and automatic transmission sans CVT. Cannot ask for more.

    • @tieoneon1614
      @tieoneon1614 2 месяца назад

      After having a '10 years ago, then having a '16 I really preferred the newer seats and cvt. But recently just picked up an clean '11 and now feel like these seats are softer/ more comfortable, and the 4 speed trans works better at higher rpm on highway, more responsive. Im putting a TRD sway bar in immediately cuz after adding it on my '16 {same rear torsion bar} it felt like a completely different car. Toyota should have made that factory, the handling is 100% sharper without riding harsh. Doesnt get bobbly and blown around on highway, way less fatigue driving long distance or mtn's.

    A good car for the money. Lots of space for luggage, 3 people and a 60# dog for 700 miles went good. My only complaint was side wind; it doesn't handle it very well. The radio has USB issues playing music more then one at a time. There are several safety issues but not free!

    EXCELLENT review of this machine...
    My compliments!
    The more I try looking elswhere for a better economy vehicle the more I keep returning to the Corolla. This machine seems "bulletproof"...if U get my drift. Sometimes I fret because I think others will judge yours truly by the vehicle I drive...You know: "You are the car you drive" syndrome. I dig Corolla, and I've reached a point where I no longer care what others may think.
    Later for that...
    Anyway, well done mate!
    Peace!

    I came across this channel few days ago and I like it.
    Two years ago I rented a Toyota Corolla S and drove from Vegas to Phoenix. The ride was good and I really liked the car.
    The only downside was the absence of stability control, which made it a bit scary in high speeds.
    I don't mind the outside looks of the car, especially in S trim, but the interior needs to be updated. Also 5 or 6 speed transmission will be great.

    Not true. My 95 e36 318is does 6L-7L on the highway consistently, it is a 5 speed petrol
    My other car which i don't have anymore, was a 03 e39 bmw 540i 4.4L v8 6 speed manual petrol. It did 7-8L on the freeway! Massive torque, meant it never spun over 2k rpm on the freeway.
    Its all about the maintenance you do. Lambdas, no vacuum leaks, clean cats, clean injectors, sparks, proper rubber and proper oil and working mafs= crazy economy.
    That being said the v8 did drink 16L in the city.

  • @mi16t
    @mi16t 11 лет назад +1

    actually...i bought it 6 years ago @ $4000. I invested another $2000 into upgrades, and wear and tear ( $500 wear and tear, $1500 because i am a gearhead). So, just sayin'. If you can work a wrench and a spanner and want a car that rewards you with amazing road manners, then get rid of that fridge on wheels. If you cannot, then id never tell you to get what i have, as its a car that would financially ruin you. Parts are CHEAP, service is not...unless you do it yourself ( easy as pie)

    only BMW diesel not petrol. Actually the Toyota Yaris is extremely fuel efficient, 6.7 litres/100 kms city driving for automatic. Holden would be 14 L city driving. BMW petrol is around 10L/100 kms up to 20 L for an V8.

    @2Kriss2Kross 13 лет назад +1

    A beige Corolla is the epitome of boring and bland. I have to disagree with your comment about the fit and finish being excellent and above average. It's in the bottom of the pack and there are videos here showing interior panels taken off just by simply tugging them off. People who buy these cars hate cars and driving. This car is beyond vanilla, it's flavourless.

    so whats better honda civic or corolla (asuming both are same year)

  • @TheMichaelRN
    @TheMichaelRN 12 лет назад

    Yet corolla and civic can still reach or even surpass 40mpg hway without the need to put new engine under the hood and i believe the only cars in the compact segment with two glove box. So see your car in 10yrs if it's still running or after the warranty run's out.

    @Cce2902 no offense but I have driven a 2012 Optima, which is a bit bigger than tge Corolla, and if yours are anything like the Optima, I will take the Corolla. Had an 05 corolla and traded for a 09 xBox...neat, now looking for another Corolla. Test drove both over the weekend and handsdown the corolla rides better. And for 200hp and 6spd auto the optima was weaker than corolla. 6 out of 10 for reliability for hyundai/kia and above 8 for Toyota. Drive what you want, its your money

    Im not recommending a bmw over a corolla. In the perfect world, if everyone knew how to work a wrench, cars like a corolla wouldn't exist. I pay LESS for parts then someone would for a toyota, and nothing for labour. If i was incompetent like many buyers of the corolla, my bmws would of been in the scrap heap. Dealer work is anal rape, but, pelicanparts sells oem parts super cheap and i do my own labour. The reason why a corolla never breaks is because its so simple there is nothing to break.

    nah lol i just own one and yerh they are priced similar here in Australia its just, Ive driven so many corollas and they dont suit young people well in my opinion. Ive also driven a lot of sports coupes but Mazda 3 handles a lot like a proper front wheel japanese sports car. corolla just handles like a ordinary boring car. Im just speaking from my experience. plus i think they dont look attractive at all. But Mazda 3 being a chick car is non sense mate.. i duno where u got that from

Some kind of shit young people are into, OBviously young ppl would rather drive Mazda 3 not corolla. I rekon corolla is thre ugliest car out of all in the range.. Theyre over priced for what they are. As i said, good reliable car for families. nothing more than that. Mazda 3 is a sexy little car in the other hand

    lol try to make your self feel better for driving a corolla when i have a 2011 nissan maxima

    • @mdd47
      @mdd47 6 лет назад +1

      It's 6 years later and don't lie, your Maxima is probably looking like a ragged-out rusty piece of trash half ready for the junkyard. The Corolla meanwhile looks brand new. These things don't rust. They don't break. The interior holds up. They cost nothing to maintain. And they have the lowest depreciation of just about any regular car out there. I paid 11K for a used Corolla special edition a year and a half ago and it's worth $200 less now than it was when I bought it. That's why people buy Corollas. It's a shame that so-called "car enthusiasts" are so out of touch with what regular people want in a car that they can't seem to understand this.

Its more powerful, faster and has better handling and sportier feeling suspension which in return provides better and fun driving experience.. Ive driven heaps of corollas and they are boring as hell. Ugly, slow and boring.. Good cars that will last long for families that cant afford bigger mid sized cars.. Not exactly a manly or fun car at all. Mazda 3 in the other hand, is.
