    Most people would press the easy button, myself included, and use a spindle sander to refine the shape, while you take the road less traveled and use hand tools to give it that handmade feel and look. Outstanding as always!

    At least 3 times now, I make something at home that I wanted/needed. Then about 2 months later you post a video of the exact item that I made. Only difference is you make it a whole lot nicer than I do. I made some ping pong paddles sometime during spring break when I got bored at home. I didn't have wood enough to finish the handles so right now they are just flat boards in the shape of a paddle, but they still work fine.

    Have you ever tried to work with old skateboards? They usually have really neat colored plys put together. If you go to a skateshop and ask if they have some used decks they will probably give you some for free. The skateshop i worked at had a huge stack of probably 100 old decks in the back room. We gave some to a guy that makes weird art. He made some super sick frames out of the old decks.

    This is so awesome, you have inspired me to woodwork, and it has become a passion. Out of curiosity, how do you keep your chisels so sharp. I have a grinder but it doesn’t seem to get the anywhere near as sharp as yours. Maybe I am holding them at an incorrect angle?

    • @fisherofmen3336
      @fisherofmen3336 6 лет назад

      I think the trick is to sand them with sandpaper using something like 100 and working your way up to like 7 or 8 thousand. The grinder is gonna be pretty rough and leave those little imperfections that take away from the sharpness.
