No one will believe me, but I knew Rene when he lived in Louisville, Kentucky. He was, by far, the most down to earth wrestler I ever encountered. He was humble and more than willing to talk wrestling with anyone. He was made for the wrestling business. I'm glad he's still in the business and doing well.
I really felt bad for Rene Dupree and the way he was treated in WWE, He gets called "French Faggot" by JBL, gets his ass kicked in the ring by Bob Holly, had backstage problems with Sylvain Grenier and was pretty much bullied by everyone on the roster
He pretty much said that. I think the taunting, etc really hurt him. He said he was just a kid, and implied that it was wrong of them to treat him the way they did.
I am a waiter and I waited on him back in 2005 at tgi Fridays in Memphis ,tn he was cool , but I knew he had too be on something cause he past out at the table after he ordered but when he came too maybe 30 seconds too about a min 1/2 later he reordered his food again like hadn't done it already
this possibly my favorite shoot RF interview ever. Hell one of the best for sure. Rene Dupree one of my favorites from the last 15 years. definately go try to find the full thing. cheers folks.
Interesting thing he said about Shawn Michaels. "You shouldn't bump to certain people." He said something very similar to Rey Mysterio "you should never like to job for anyone." So not only was Michaels a prick but he have some horrible advice to young wrestlers.
I don't know, Daniel Bryan praises him till the end of the Earth. I guess HBK still had his moments even after he was "saved". However after hearing many people talk about him in shoot interviews, I do appreciate that Shawn, regardless of how they took what he told them, was always brutally honest. Despite still having remnants of the past, this clearly wasn't the old pilled out HBK who would stab you in the back and throw you to the wolves with no remorse whatsoever, this was a guy who was simply honest with you when you asked him for advice, given what he went through in the business. He wasn't going to feed you a bunch of bullshit like he probably would have done 18 years ago. That being said, I do get why Shawn Michaels might not be the best role model for young wrestlers. I think a role like that should always belong to someone like William Regal. Guys like Regal will teach you how to work your hardest and truly respect the industry, while a lot of others might teach you politics.
+aaronrus not that far-fetched...especially when in the actual interview he says "this is purely speculation with some specific facts behind it" or something along those lines. He never says he knows what happened, but honestly, with all the provided details of the crime, probably a fairly accurate description of how that piece of shit murdered his family.
+UpDownLeftRight What about the fact that his doctor said he had the brain of an 85 year old alzheimer's patient? That he didn't know what the hell was going on at the time? It would explain the texts he sent to chavo and the phone conversations
UpDownLeftRight No it doesn't, but if his doctor is right about that, then we know he didn't mean to do it. Those with alzheimer's usually have it along with imagining things that aren't really there or didn't really happen. For example, my grandma told me there was a floating head trying to get in her house looking at her from the window.
saw him wrestle in Dublin, Ireland with WWE a few years ago, he was great, got involved with the crowd and everything before taking a sweet chin music from HBK, which he sold like a pro, great to see Rene doing well these days!!
I don't know the guy personally, but I live roughly about a 10 minute drive from him. My cousins went to high school with him and I went to school with his cousin. He shops sometimes at the grocery store where I work, while his father comes in bright and early to do some shopping at the grocery store as well. For those who are confused, Rene is Acadian, as am I. He's from New Brunswick, Canada. Rene and his father are currently planning a summer tour of Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling!
This guy is so expressive and Joe Handsome to boot. He should go into acting especially in action films. Any casting agent with any brains out there should check him out! He's a natural and has a sense of humor and the camera loves him!
Much love for Dupree! I was never a huge fan but I loved his in ring work. I definitely want to see this, he's hilarious! Jonny Ace is a douche! People power can blow off. Haha.
Rene Dupree is and always will be my #1 favorite wrestler of all time, no matter what he does, Vince K. McMahon please have Rene sign a new contract, please!
you're god damn right, I used to hate on this guy alot too lol but there are some good stories he can tell us about o.0 and yes JBL was a fuckin idiot by that time, he used to make fun and bullyed Mark Henry lol he used to beat him up, and I don't know why, Mark is huge, but JBL was huge too by that time :S now he's just a skinny bastard, Mark should beat the shit of that old man LOL
Adam H JBL was an idiot back in the day, he had Taker's protection, he was really good friends with Chris Benoit and Taker, and these three guys would put their hands on everyone that they would feel disrespected by, there was a lot of disorder in the lockeroom, believe it or not, even Cena was seen as bad for the business just because the way he dressed himself, not using boots and regular wrestling clothing, there were many guys that disliked Cena a lot, but he sure always worked his ass off every single week, the dude gives a lot of himself to the company, but about Henry, yeah bro you're completly right, Henry is known for being a softy guy, and a really friendly person, always very nice to everyone, lool and the guy is huge, so about Henry's troubles with JBL, with was really JBL that was a big douche with him, bullying him all the time, and I am sure JBL wouldn't pick on guys like The Rock or Stone Cold, or Triple H, or Kane, or even Brock Lesnar (I think Lesnar wasn't there at that time though), cuz he would got smashed the fuck out by guys like that lol
CM Punk was over the moment he came into the WWE, it was 2006, there's an undeniable portion of people at everyshow who are smart marks, who were not only enthused with Punk but waiting to see him in the WWE. He won casual fans over every match he had, and in Survivor Series that year, one month before all Heyman protection left the building, they interrupted the freaking DX intro four months after they first reunited , to chant CM Punk.
Who would have known that a guy like Rene Dupree would have walked that thin line between dirty and sober, most wrestlers at one time or another will abuse narcotics so it should not be a surprise but this was a great preview for his shoot interview. Left me wanting to hear more!! JBL being a dick is no surprise, hazing the new guys, Johnny Ace no-one seems to like, Bob Holly being labeled a snitch telling the office on young guys, man.... PURE POLITICS in wrestling! The life of a wrestler!
I've seen Bubba say in interviews that Dupree was green but a fast learner whereas Sylvan was green and disrespectful. In 2003 at 18 Dupree as part of La Resistance was in a pretty high profile match with the Dudley's and considering that most guys are 32 or older when they get such a push, I've no doubt there was animosity.
Johnny Ace was big on hiring the models. Sylvan was close with Pat Patterson who still had some agent duties and was the reason he was kept around so long. The former football players that I can think of are Monty Brown and Joe Anoai.
I feel like these guys as champs in their early to mid 30's constantly, reminds me of that era of champs from savage in 1988 - Bret Hart's win in 1995. I think from that time the two youngest wwf champions were Warrior at around age 30, Undertaker at age 26, and Yokozuna at age 27. Everybody else was at least 35+ when they won it and were huge stars
Boy, from all the stories back in that ruthless aggression Era, if you were a new guy or rookie you were going to get hazed. That was just automatic, then if you stood up for yourself and did something about it you were either getting fired or getting fucked with twice as hard depending on what you did about it.
Had no idea dupree was that guy when he debuted in 2003,i remember jr refering to him as a 21-22 year old,and i was still wow,i knew Gowen was only 20,and looked it,and dupree was buff, and looked more mature in the face,it turned out that many didnt know.An interesting thing i read is that he was trained by the age of 13,and he dad had him when he was 47.
Funny that Johnny Ace wanted to fire him yet Dupree ended up in All Japan Pro Wrestling ;). Ace only got a job because of his brother, Dupree earned it.
I had forgotten about Dupree's new gimmick in ECW, and I was rooting for him at the time, That gimmick didn't stick though and it wasn't for lack of them trying to get his ass over for along time, they cut their losses and reformed La Resitance instead. He wasn't getting over at the time ,he's throwing stones at CM Punk for having alot of hype surrounding him at before he even came to WWE.
i bet at the time this guy was the best looking and technically skilled guy in the wwf at 18years old. i can imagine most of the other wrestlers hated him for that
i swear WWE constantly fucks up young guys and puts all their stock in dudes already 30 when they start, Sheamus was 31 when he made his ECW debut, he is 35 now so he has at most 10 years at the top of his game before he either retires or goes part time and has shorter runs, Dupree was 19 when he debuted, imagine what kind of legacy and longevity his could have had with better booking and the right people behind him, atleast 20 years at the top of WWE, because he had the natural attributes
Have you seen Batista bump, he was still better than a lot of the guys back then, now they have a much more technical roster, I'm not sure Cena would make it was a rookie today
The odd thing is that Sylvan was kept around longer than Rene but WWE seems to do that often. Clearly Sylvan was better at politics than Rene was. The company really needs to change it's employment model to actually hire people that want to wrestle instead of women that want to model and guys that want to be football players but got a knee injury. Since WWE now has Total Diva's and it's training facility I don't see it happening anytime soon.
His Lauranitis impression is awesome
No one will believe me, but I knew Rene when he lived in Louisville, Kentucky. He was, by far, the most down to earth wrestler I ever encountered. He was humble and more than willing to talk wrestling with anyone. He was made for the wrestling business. I'm glad he's still in the business and doing well.
And he’s still doing well! Such a good guy, really cool story about knowing him back in the day
I really felt bad for Rene Dupree and the way he was treated in WWE, He gets called "French Faggot" by JBL, gets his ass kicked in the ring by Bob Holly, had backstage problems with Sylvain Grenier and was pretty much bullied by everyone on the roster
Getting roughed up by Bob Holly was his own fault. He shouldn't have thrown the parking ticket he got with Holly's rental car.
@@billyrouse4813he offered to pay for the parking ticket, but Bob declined.
People like Bob want an excuse to bully people.
Don't you guys agree that Rene Dupree has the best taunt of all time?
Did he do the jumping side to side thing with his arms out? That was a good taunt
IKR Is so funny to do that taunt in the SvR and WWE 2k games
the french tickler
YES!!!!! It was epic back then
He admitted he took it from Rick Martel
At first I thought he was douchey but here he seems like a cool, honest guy. Maybe he just in too young and was in way over his head.
ya 19 and on the road with all the shit will fuck most people up bad.
But when he was in WWE his character was a heal and annoying. All the story lines behind his character.
Young good lookng guy gettin oppertunities in the wrestling business........guys like JBL woulda been jealous af
He pretty much said that. I think the taunting, etc really hurt him. He said he was just a kid, and implied that it was wrong of them to treat him the way they did.
Exactly, me too man, me too.. he's got this new podcast that makes him seem more likeable.
Wish someone would upload this
Dupree worked a raw main event at 19 im 19 right now that pretty cool
Now youre 29
I am a waiter and I waited on him back in 2005 at tgi Fridays in Memphis ,tn he was cool , but I knew he had too be on something cause he past out at the table after he ordered but when he came too maybe 30 seconds too about a min 1/2 later he reordered his food again like hadn't done it already
This actually looks like a really good shoot interview - it's been awhile for RFVideo to get someone fresh and new. Happy to see Dupree, again.
Renee is cool. He has a RUclips channel, cafe de renee
this possibly my favorite shoot RF interview ever. Hell one of the best for sure. Rene Dupree one of my favorites from the last 15 years. definately go try to find the full thing. cheers folks.
Same here! This is a great interview!
Man I miss his french villain gimmick he was amazing
This was always one of my favorite RF releases ever.
I'm abput to biy it
Interesting thing he said about Shawn Michaels. "You shouldn't bump to certain people." He said something very similar to Rey Mysterio "you should never like to job for anyone." So not only was Michaels a prick but he have some horrible advice to young wrestlers.
lmfao we just on the happy trails of Rf video shoots
He was a good roll model & Inspiration to Daniel Bryan trainee of Shawn Michaels D Bryans was also big Chris Benoit
he also said that to The Hurricane. Shawn was a douche but I'm pretty sure he's changed.
I don't know, Daniel Bryan praises him till the end of the Earth. I guess HBK still had his moments even after he was "saved". However after hearing many people talk about him in shoot interviews, I do appreciate that Shawn, regardless of how they took what he told them, was always brutally honest. I met Rene on the indies as an announcer he was a really cool dude down to earth willing to share advice
Renne is a great story teller... he tells the Benoit incident as if he was there.. very imaginitive guy
MrFallior Doesn't change how it happened...
UpDownLeftRight No it doesn't, but if his doctor is right about that, then we know he didn't mean to do it. Those with alzheimer's usually have it along with imagining things that aren't really there or didn't really happen. His John Laurinitis and Jim Cornet impressions were spot on
saw him wrestle in Dublin, Ireland with WWE a few years ago, he was great, got involved with the crowd and everything before taking a sweet chin music from HBK, which he sold like a pro, great to see Rene doing well these days!!
love HIS McMahon IMPRESSION
Renee dupree is hott!!!

Seems like this is going to be one the most interesting shoots in a while, cant wait to watch.
Rene Dupree was WWE's best superstar. #BringBackReneDupree
Now hes got a podcast called Cafe De Rene with Paul London and James.
I was working for Rene's dad in 1997 and Rene was 14 going to the matches every night- I was training him in OVW when he was 19 .
Hey Rip miss you wrestling tell rene I said what's up
Rene Dupree seems like such a smart man, and a nice guy.
He has some good impressions
Wish someone would put up the whole interview
Still shocking that he's STILL not even 30 years old. He accomplished a lot before he was even 23.
It is the best explanation I have heard.
This guy is so expressive and Joe Handsome to boot. He should go into acting especially in action films. Any casting agent with any brains out there should check him out! He's a natural and has a sense of humor and the camera loves him!
I miss Renee Dupree
Didn't realize he's still young, about 29. I can see him making a comeback
Much love for Dupree! I was never a huge fan but I loved his in ring work. I definitely want to see this, he's hilarious! Jonny Ace is a douche! People power can blow off. Haha.
I'm on my ass cracking up at that "RENE, IM GONNA FIRE YOU, I CAN FIRE YOU ANYTIME, YOU KNOW?" johnny ace impression omfg hahaha!

Surprisingly this could be a good one. He's shown more character and charisma in this than he ever did in the wwe
I used to hate him back when he was in the WWE (2004-2005) but it seems like he's a cool guy in real life.
Was just thinking that.... lol. This looks like an interesting shoot...
Why would you hate someone when he’s playing character
@@uzib239 I meant at the time when he was playing a heel I hated the character. But in hindsight, and hindsight is 20/20, he was poorly utilized.

they really missed the bopat with Renee Dupree... the dude is good looking, and a hell fo an athlete, he really couldve legitimized today's WWE
aaronrus He would've been buried by Cena the moment he stepped back in the ring
Rene seems pretty cool and real !
I feel like these guys as champs in their early to mid 30's constantly, reminds me of that era of champs from savage in 1988 - Bret Hart's win in 1995. I literally thought he was a real Frenchman from France!!!!
Brown & Anoai are recent. I certainly see your point though. Same thing applies to Kevin Nash & Sid. Ultimate Warrior even.
Rene Dupree is still young 25 debut in 2003
COOL SHOOT INTERVIEW !!!!!
He minds me of Dolph Lundgren as Gunnar in The Expendables movies! Seems a cool guy, can't wait to see it all.
He's sooo hot. His personality in www took away from his looks. But I wish his accent was real, or still had it
Bianca Marie WTF is www
thats The Best Johnny Ace Impression EVER! i laughed so hard at that!
His English is waaaaaaaay better than Sylvain Grenier's (both of them being Francophone),
He's from New Brunswick, you're brought up bilingual.
Funny that Johnny Ace wanted to fire him yet Dupree ended up in All Japan Pro Wrestling ;). Ace only got a job because of his brother, Dupree earned it.
"I got heat for blowing my nose."

No, he's Canadian, but he was billed from Paris, France.
I love his accent.
Yeah Rene Dupree is a good ring performer and as far as JBL hating him dude he's french canadian

He seems like a kid who wasn't ready that's all. Product of the system
his accent is barely even noticeable now i wouldnt know where he was from if this was the first time id seen him speak
That Cornette story is so fucking funny
haha his impressions are great
You gave it a hit so it gave him credibilty. You think they care why you came as long as you came. Thanks for helping Dupree
And yet you watched his preview for his shoot.
does he talk about his run in southside wrestling in the UK in this shoot?
Who is the guy he is talking about at the start?
Interesting vid.
Everybody can do a great Johnny Ace impression.
i bet at the time this guy was the best looking and technically skilled guy in the wwf at 18years old. i can imagine most of the other wrestlers hated him for that
Rick James had an ora!

because he's canadian dumbass
+l'enfoiré à lunettes So is Pat " They went Banana " Patterson
where can i watch this
Who is he talking about? When he says they hate this company?
Did he bring up Chris Benoit ?
Yeah, thats who he was talking about, when he brought up the guy who killed his wife, choked his kid, than hung himself.
as far as we know
Nick Perkins
He literally killed his wife and son.
I still doubt it !
Why do you doubt it when all of the evidence points to it happening? Sorry your hero turned out to be a psychotic murderer.
finalyyy!!!!
how does he look old? He doesnt look older than 25?
