  • Gnawa music is a rich Moroccan repertoire of ancient African Islamic spiritual religious songs and rhythms. Its well-preserved heritage combines ritual poetry with traditional music and dancing. The music is performed at lila, entire communal nights of celebration dedicated to prayer and healing guided by the Gnawa maalem, or master musician, and their group of musicians and dancers. Though many of the influences that formed this music can be traced to sub-Saharan West-Africa, its traditional practice is concentrated in Morocco.
Traditional Music Channel is for everyone who has a passion for music.
Music is an expression of human creativity. UNESCO reports that among all the performing arts, music is the most universal and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art forms and other domains of intangible cultural heritage.
Traditional forms of music are considered carriers of cultural heritage because they represent expressions and traditions transferred through generations of a community.
With recordings from more than hundred nations our collection of traditional music offers a staggering diversity of our humanity.

That‘s unfortunately a misconception. Bob Marley never was in Essaouira. His Band, the Wailers came.
Tourism just changed the story a little bit. Similar with Jimmy Hendrix. He was there but only for a day or two and definitely hasn‘t written Castle of Sand there. That song had been published before he came to Morocco. That are urban legends to ramp up Tourism.
Led Zeppelin spent a lot of time in Morocco to make music with moroccon musicians.

Algeria has gotten it from Morocco. Read about the history of Morocco and how come there are black people in Morocco. Don't forget that also Tindouf and Bechar were Moroccan until 1940 when France decided to annex those region to the french department in North Africa called "French Algeria"

      Lazaar 😂why you are mad
It's not copying it means that this kind of music was in big large places and this is good
For example if we see in Europe the art of music of Italy started there and also in France Germany
      ...
This is so beautiful and helps the music to stay for long time 😌
So calm down no one is copying you
