Very nice indeed Al nice bit of kit . Nice walk through on the set up it's definitely a very lively one but slow control it's pretty good also now you can crawl 😂 They might have a point 😂😂😂😂! Keep that way from you 😉🤣 . Superb air!! Keep up the great videos and laughs 👍😎💪🏼
Hi Fonzie, thanks for the wonderful comment, I really appreciate it and the support. The FireTeam was due for a new makeover and upgrade. This is what it needed to keep it interesting, the new esc and motor is quick to respond, now I have to learn control with the throttle. Take care and best wishes to you and the family💯💯💯👍👍
Hello Robcanthandlestupidy, thanks for stopping by to watch the video and for the comment. I hope everything goes well with the install. If you are going to run any pinion gear higher than 18/19 make sure you have at least one fan on the motor to keep the temps down. Let me know how it goes when you are finished, really would like to know. Take care and stay safe.
It was ripping out there! Those high speed wheelie to backflip chaos was crazy! That is some serious power! Poor thing went home with a squished booty! I am sure the rebuild will get it all right and rocking again! Take care Al and have a great weekend!
I really didn't expect the new combo to give it so much power, those high speed wheelies was only at like 75% throttle. I have to learn to control the throttle input, the esc is quick to respond to how much or how less throttle you give. But this is the perfect setup for my FireTeam. Thanks you for watching and for leaving that awesome comment, means a lot to me.💯💯💯💥👍👍
JoevsRc, thanks for that awesome comment, and for watching the video. I think this is the best combination motor and esc for the FireTeam. You can fine tune the esc and motor on how you run. 💥💥
Thank you ReadySet, now I just need to control my response with the throttle, this system is quick to react to any input. I think the new Max6 G2 combo is great for any 7th scale RC, that's just my opinion. Thanks for taking time to watch the video and for leaving that awesome comment. Did you see the new 7th scale street truck from FSR, Model DT. I just ordered one. Truly appreciate your support💯💯💯
RCplaytime, thanks for that wonderful comment and for stopping by to watch the video. I think the FireTeam has new life in it now. Take care and best wishes to you💯💯💯
Hi Dirk, I think it's a great combo also, the bluetooth makes it easy to adjust on the go, without having to plug in a program card or fiddle with the set and on/off button. Thanks for watching and for leaving a wonderful comment. Take care and keep the Crawler Course going. (LOOKIING GOOD!!!!!!!) 💯💯💯💯💯💯
From what I understand, this new 1650kv motor is OFFICIALLY capable of 8s now. ?? Definitely my cup of tea. This is even better for 8s runners like me with a heavy M2C upgraded K6 who likes the sensored stuff. Going sensored was smart on HW's part, because it certainly does make ya' want the proprietary waterproof sensored motor with temp sensing and all that. Anything built up and heavy for 1/8th, or even stock 7th scale runs with less strain and heat with this upgrade. Great for Fireteam, the new Big Rock, and X-Maxx with the larger motor option.
All-is-Grass, welcome back, yes this new combo is capable of running 8s. HW did their homework and listened to their customers, I like how much control you have with the throttle, but I will tell you this. This new setup is quick to respond to any throttle input you give it. For the 5th scale Max6 5960, 1250kV would do the X-Max justice. I ran this hard (fist and last time) just to see if I could actually get it to go to thermal shut down (didn't happen) but I'm glad LVC stopped me. I will be venting the new panels to get air to flow better in the FireTeam. Thanks again for watching the video and leaving a awesome comment. Hope you take care and best wishes to you.💯💯💯💯💯
G'day Al, What a mean looking beast👌😂. That new system is awesome, crazy power. Thanks for sharing your video mate, We hope you have a great weekend👍🦘🇦🇺
Hi Outback RC, Thanks for watching the video I really appreciate it. Also thank you for the wonderful comment. I hope that you and Ingrid had a smile while watching the video. It's may take the place of Arrma Notorious as my go to basher. I hope the two of you have a wonderful weekend. Take care and best wishes to you and Ingrid 💯💯💯💯👍👍
@sparetimerc Thanks Al, We definitely had a smile watching your video, hearing you laugh even brings a smile 🤣👍. Ingrid also sends regards . Keep smiling👌
I have had this since it came out and really have not had any issues with it since. This is the only major upgrade I have done with it and it has been through some tough driving. Granted not skatepark action or 30 feet launches but it has had it's share of rough landings
Hey Peter, I'm so sorry, I thought I had commented. Thanks for watching and for leaving that wonderful comment. I think this is the perfect setup for the FireTeam. It does rip for sure💥💥💥💥💥
Hi UrbanLegend, thanks for watching the video and for leaving your comment, I think this combo from HW is a game changer for any 7th scale vehicle, especially the 7th scales that have a little more weight like the FireTeam. 👍👍
Great run! I can judge the quality of the combo with your level of enjoyment, that’s great! Those temps though, sheeeesh! A fan on the can would take care of that though.
Hello GillyboyNY, my opinion this is a game changer for those who want more control and power on their 6th and 7th scale RC. You are absolutely correct concerning the temp, it did not go to thermal shutdown, but yes to high. I have a heatsink on order and I already have a fan ready to install. I really appreciate that you took time out to watch the video and for leaving a awesome comment. Take care and best wishes to you.💯💯💯💯💯💯👍👍
It hit LVC, I got back to the workshop and put the batteries on storage. Both batteries were at 2.75 to 2.73.. I honestly don't know why it didn't go to the thermal shutdown. But everything is working as it should.👌
Hi Milt, thanks for watching the video and leaving a great comment, Max6 1650kV combo is the best setup for the 7th scale RCs. Gen1 is still a awesome. I just ordered mine! Whenever it gets here, it's going into my Mojave. I also ordered the Max5 g2 with the 800kv for my DBXL E. I'm looking forward to both of them.
Hello Diaszurana, I apologize for the late response, The Mojave is going to be a total beast on road and off road with the Max6 G2 combo and your DBXL E is going to be out of control once you get it in there. just a little advice, do a break in period one battery pack, for 20min just to get everything meshed up. then you can rip all day everyday.
Are you talking about the Mojave 6s or 4s? If its my 6s Mojave I would run 18t, perfect for bashing (temps) since the body holds heat. Temps should be manageable. Do this, put an 18t pinion gear in, run it for 5 minutes, then check the temps are reasonable, and it is performing how you want it 👍. Just need to play around with different gearing. Hope this helps. Take care and stay safe.
Hi Al, that’s an impressive ESC and motor combination! I really like the Bluetooth connectivity to set the ESC parameters, I also like the control of that sensored ESC, oh and yes…you are dangerous with your rigs 😂😂😂I think as soon as 12s and above become fashionable, your going into the realms of 007 territory 😂😊😂 flying with 4WD 😂😊😂 awesome video, loved listening and watching you put that Arrma FireTeam through its paces 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 😊
Thank you JF for that awesome comment and for watching the video. I am only going to run 8sm for a speed run but other than that I like how it handles on 6s for back 40 bashing. Now I need to learn throttle control since this esc is quick to react to any input you give it (007 territory) I love that one. Take care and best wishes to you and your family as well.💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is really nice, Al! I'm definitely interested in following along on your Fireteam project, also the other parts will be interesting for me! I got the Integy slow plow for it the other day, haven't managed to fit it yet, looking forward to try it, see how insufficient the stock motor and gearing is for pushing snow, he he... Have a great weekend there, my friend!
Hi Mads, thank you for watching the video and for the great comment. I still am keeping the FireTeam look (new cage and panels) painted for street runs and getting new panels for the old roll cage for backyard bashing. If you get the Max6 combo get the 5960 (1250kV motor) but I'm not sure it will fit unless you get a different motor mount (I have very to no room from the bottom of the motor to the chassis) a smidge if that. You take care and best wishes to you and the family my friend.👍👍👍👍👍👍

Temps at 170 to 220 are close to the tolerance level but you should be good. But one thing I want to point out is that you should measure your center diff temp as well..I upgraded to these motors too for my Kraton and my center diff got up to 230 degrees after about 3 runs 20 minutes each. So I upgraded to metal center diffs to prevent any plastic melting.
Hello Rogerrabbit, I like that. You are correct about the center diff temp, the metal center diff is included in the upgrade, it will be here when the new body and roll cage get in. I like when others keep me in check, really appreciate it. Take care and best wishes to you.👍👍👍👍👍💯

Hello 10krms54, I am sorry to say that the programming box will not work with the new Max6 esc, there is now port for the program box. It is all Bluetooth. Sorry 😞
Hello Speedchaser, This motor esc combo fits great inside the FireTeam. I didn't have any issues with it at all. Even with the 40x40mm fan. Hope to see more from you in the future. Take care and stay safe out there.
Hello Damaylaphoneix, Thank you for stopping by to watch the video and for the awesome comment. I ran the FireTeam with 3 battery (roughly 45-50min run time) pack with the cooling time of the battery change. I did put a 40mm fan and heatsink on it and the temps are good now. I wanted to see how far I could take the new Hobbywing Max6 until it went to thermal shutdown (didn't) like I mentioned in the video that is the first and last time I do that with the FireTeam.
If you run that system on 8s an 20t pin it would run cooller an be just as fast. Im looking forward to trying this same sysen in my Mojave/og big rock body custom rig. It running old max6 with a rocket 1100kv 4585 an its fun. But i have to run 8s to keep it cool an have good top speeds. And still want more top speed. So time to kv up to the 1650 g2 syatem.

I wanted to see how far I could take the new Hobbywing Max6 until it went to thermal shutdown (didn't) like I mentioned in the video that is the first and last time I do that with the FireTeam.
Did this work with stock motor mount?
Hello Redreefbud, This will work with stock motor mount, no need to change unless you want to.
Hello Mike, I wanted to say thank you for stopping by to watch the video and for leaving me a great comment. This run was to see how far I could push the new HW Max6 G2 combo befor it went into thermal shutdown. I will say I like this combo, and my plans are to put it into other 7th scale rc after I have ran them with stock electronics. I'm going to head over to your channel and check it out. Take care and stay safe
