Never ever least purchase a truck you will get bent over and it will hurt. Buy one when you got the money to walk in and pay cash for one.
I would agree with half of what your saying. Don’t get into a lease with a company. But incorporate your self. Then do a lease to own through a bank with a dollar payout at the end. You can write off the lease against your corporate income and get back your tax money. It’s better than buying it outright and depreciating it each year. Also all your fuel is a write off and any repairs. But right now I would just be a company driver. Let them deal with cost of fuel and repair’s. economy is in a bad way. Government seems to want everything to collapse. Good luck. And stay safe.
@@Streetbob-si8yj Is it possible you could do a video explaining all this? I would really appreciate your knowledge and experience. ✌🏽
You are semi living in dream land dude,
Never save your pennies and be a company drivers and out right buy a truck. Cause the interest rates will kill you your paying 180,000 for a truck they only paid 90,000 for
Good Point
Never
My personal opinion is that if you can't save for your deposit, you have no business trying to become an owner operator. You're not ready for business if you can not handle your personal finances.
exactly. hit that one right on the head.
Hello 👋 dear
Shush
This is what I came to say. Huge red flag if you can't manage to save the money in the first place.
@@GrimmCaptain dropping tens of thousands on a truck is poor money management lol
I have been driving with my CDL for about 2 months now . Being a company driver is the best for me . Less headaches and they pay for everything. You do your job the way it’s supposed to be without causing any accidents and eventually your pay will increase. I plan on switching company for more money once I have more experience.
Go LTL Bro. You’d make the most money. FedEx freight, sia, OD, XPO, etc
A- it’s not the time to try and be an o/o
B- don’t lease thru a company. Ever.
I’d never lease through a company!
I bout my older model truck for 9k cash. I put about 6k into it for overhauls and upgrades. I owe nothing, and own it outright, and have the peace of mind that EVERYTHING is working perfectly. Much better option.
Awesome!
Never.!!!! Its a dead end too.
25000 to 35000 really? As a down payment for a truck? I just brought a car worth that much and it is a 2017 car! More like 70000 to 80000 now
That’s the bare minimum ( 20-30%) down payment required to get financing for the truck in decent condition , of course you can pay the full price if you got cash
Never it’s a scam
If all these truck drivers are saying to not do a lease program, why is he saying it's good to do?
because he's a part of a company trying to convince you that these programs are ok. he's also saying you should lease if you're the LEAST qualified person to have your own authority in the first place.
Because if you have bad credit and can’t save for a deposit it’s a way to get a truck. Drivers saying it’s not good either got burned by not doing their research before getting into a bad lease or based off hearsay. It’s not the best way but if you have a plan and work hard you can definitely own your truck.after the lease. The key is making sure you understand the lease and choose a good company.
@@stayinyourlaneaudits5213 but if your in debt and have bad credit would it better to fix those issues before starting a company? Maybe just be a company driver for while? As a company driver at least in the north east you can easily find a job making 80,000 I've had three all ready with minimal experience. I also have a clean record tho
Walmart pays over 100,000 a year, why pay for a truck you will probably never own, plus if you have bad credit it will only get worse
Never. Find a company working under a Teamster contract. All off your benefits including a pension.
Never, never…no driver should ever sign on to any company for lease purchase program…..They can do better on their own because all companies are out there to rip drivers off. When drivers drivers figure out that they are not a commodity. Then they will stand up. Don’t work for a company. Become your own boss go out and buy your own truck. You don’t need a company to carry your lease. You can buy an older truck and make better money.
I most certainly don't trust any sort of lease-purchase deal. I'd rather get an old truck on auction, maybe get a brand new one later.
Never be a lease operator!! You'll make more money as a company driver!!
Dont lease a truck...save your money, buy your own secondhand truck at the auction..save tons of money
im a company Driver 💯
Another option like we did was find reliable used trucks and start off that way instead of purchasing a new truck with a big down payment .
To this day I've never heard a good thing about Fleece Purchase. The biggest complaint I hear is many don't get the miles to make a good check and make their payments. Some say they pay more in tolls than what they get paid for the load. If you piss off your dispatcher they'll starve you for miles so you are forced to quit.
Never, a lease is for people that suck with math and money!
@@curtisnoble. hello 👋 dear 🌹❣️
Hello 👋 honey 🥰❣️
The other reason is if they fire you they can't expect you to continue to make payments.
If you don't want to be a company driver forever, start setting aside money and buy your own truck.
I've heard many company lease horror stories. 2 that I never 4get. One company didn't own the truck no title. 2 they make reasons to fire you once the lease is ending. Do extensive research on the company you may want to lease good luck with that
NEVER
If you can’t save your deposit good luck saving for maintenance
Never…….it’s a last resort when you can’t get normal financing or feel like being a slave to a company and a dispatch
Thanks for the info Paul. I'm interested to become a lease operator how do I go about doing so. I'm from South Africa
How do I become a company driver apparently it pays better than lease operator
when hell freezes over🤣
If you can't afford the down payment and you don't have money in the bank for operating expenses you have no business becoming a owner operator also the lease purchase is a scam those trucks are never going to be owned outright.
I’ve know at least 6 people who got their first truck thru a lease purchase. It can be done.
Never...Highway robbery....If you are fat, it's a great idea since you will starve leasing a truck so the weight loss is a plus.
Never it's always a terrible idea
Lease operator's have to work for one company exclusively and get trapped into being treated with a low priority. It's going to be tough or impossible to make it in today's market as a lease operator. Best to get your own authority and work with a brokerage that you can walk away from.
Wow I never see so many “never” before until now.
Lease purchase is a RACKET
Aka Fleece Purchase.
Never ever do that ,unless you want to give out your shirt and pants , among all the rest you own !!!!
NEVER!
How can i be a lease operater if i live in California
