Amazing timing I dropped a backpack in the mud recently back in March and still needs detailed cleaning so this video was absolute god send good on ya mate!
I just turn the backpack inside out, wash and dry. Ink stains come out really well with isopropyl alcohol. My daughter's pens leaked all over the bottom of her bag last year, so I treated it with alcohol and then washed in in cold water, treated it for a second time and washed it again; it all came out.
You can also use dawn dish detergent, baking soda, and peroxide. Mix it together in a paste and store it in a dark area when not in use. This has taken out some of the worst things I’ve ever had!!
Unfortunately I dont go to school anymore and have no need for a backpack but however I do have younger siblings so thisbis going to come in handy Thank you!
Question; does this affect the waterproof coating? ...or "how do I reactivate the waterproof coating after washing?" Is maybe a better question.. (Baking soda and regular detergent are not destructive cleaning agents.. So the coating should be (relatively) intact) "Something something -> clothes dryer." - I forget the details every time ;/ (It might differ from brand to brand... Not sure how valuable it is to answer this question. But I was wondering if there was a 'works on most backpacks' type of method...)
I've used the pillow case method for over three decades (mom showed me when I was four) to clean stuffed animals...why did I not think about using it with BAGS?? Not just back packs, but fabric bags of any kind really?? This is great 👍
