It is criminal that this only has 1.5k views - this is such a fantastic walkthrough, especially for creatives who don't swim in tech stuff like this. Excellent work man.
@@TechnoRhino I’m new to all of this stuff so ….. from getting the right software & storage data hard looking to do an online business these would work especially with me just starting out I’m trying to be budget friendly but still have the right tools I need for my business . Going forward as I build & scale my business as it grows
Very nice! Although, with two NAS units something like a high-availability configuration is a good option as well. In the event of a catastrophic NAS failure of the primary NAS, the secondary NAS can step in automatically without disruption of service. Not sure if QNAP has that feature but typically you need the same model NAS with the same hard drive density/ configuration in order to setup high-availability.
It would be cool to see a video for what it's actually like using this beast, editing and exporting it with a full project. I built my PC with the idea of eventually getting a NAS. My MOBO is 10GBE compatible, i just need the funds to make this happen. :)
Have a great question….. can you have a home based nas for daily use and one remotely in another location other then your home or work……. If so how would you correctly setup since they’re not in the same physical location (like say Ur home and a Storage unit for example)
Another good option is LTO tape backup which apparently is an option for QNAP NAS units if you a budget for it: ruclips.net/video/PoFpibaSkf8/видео.htmlsi=N4t3g8Z8G9oTHVqD
@@JustinPorterMedia Justin, I hope you take the time to read the comment I posted. Curious what the reaction will be. Yes, Dropbox is a topic in it. I was also looking for the video you mentioned on it as I think you provide great content.
Storage doesn’t get talked about enough. I love this!

This is such a great video, I actually forced myself to look at Windows for an extended period of time! Now that's LOVE Justin! LOL 🙂
Oh you can do the same from a Mac. I have 3 pcs and a Mac all connected to mine :)
Truly appreciate you watching :)
I have qnap as well. thinking of investing in 45drives as a back up or having qnas as the back up
Thanks for uploading this man! Just got my nas and you were the first person I went to for help haha.

@@gregshanor669 yes you can. That was my original plan. With Qnap, you would set it up in hybrid backup 3 software.
Will 24TB WD Gold be compatible even though it's not listed in compatibility list with other 24tb drives? QNAP probably just haven't tested those yet?
🤯 when I think I got my NAS hooked up I had to add more elements
Welcome to the dark side of IT :D
Gotta send you a video of my setup
@@TrueEssencePhotography send it over bro. 🥹🙌🏾
@@JustinPorterMedia Going to clean it up first 😄 and get finish using Calman to calibrate these monitors and I gotcha. I'll send via instagram.

@@JustinPorterMedia Yes Sir, look for smiley face icon @clipperbob960 starts with "your positive attitude is contagious" . warning it is long.
@@JustinPorterMedia hi I replied earlier but it is gone. Look for smiley face icon and in the first line it says you positivity is infectious
