Hi Pete, great video...thank you! This is my first time hearing about Podia after spending countless weeks comparing with a dozen other platforms. Didn't like Teachable's fees, and putting Wordpress pieces together for LearnDash gave me anxiety (no coding experience). I'm launching an assessment, training and development company that will offer an assortment of free and paid interactive courses with downloadable and fillable pdf's, workbooks, guides, and assessment/survey features for ongoing dialogue and feedback. Would love to have a pre-recorded webinar for workshops with a chat feature also. I'd agree - Kajabi is too expensive! So, what are your thoughts on Kartra in comparison to Podia? Thank you in advance.
Not sure! Kartra is one of the few I dont' have that much experience with. The only thing I really know is that I think it's made by teh same folks who make WebinarJam/Everwebinar--which I use and LOVE. So there's that. As far as your setup, seems like Podia is a great place to start though? Especially since they can do simple webinars really well.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a business that is ready to go to the next level with courses and I can’t figure out which platform to use. I can’t stand how complicated Teachable is to use and I hate the user view. It’s so clunky and outdated. Just subscribed and I’m excited to binge your tutorials!
😂😂😂 you really make me remember kajabi for life 😂 but so true, I went to check their pricing a while ago. Saw it and NOPE 😂 never looked back since... But now podia... I'm absolutely in! You're awesome, epic video!!!
Ehhhhh it's ok. Not fantastic. Video Engagement = don't even think they have. Course completion = really solid on a per-customer basis--but no general overview tab (Why, podia???) Sales = kinda basic.
@@DoYouEvenBlog Do you think it matters? Sometimes I, as a data person, get too attached to it.. but sometimes you don't even use it that much. I feel that's one point PODIA takes a huge beating from other players like Thinkific and Teachable.
To each their own probably? Doesn't matter to me one little bit. I just want to be able to see if students are doing the work--and how much--and it does show that :)
Create video! Would love to see an update for 2021. Is Podia still the best platform for courses? I'm actually looking for a platform so appreciate your review.
You're correct, I DO need an update video, and I'm still using them! They've put out some sweet new features recently, including an improved site editor, ability to sell coaching programs (with calendar integrations, etc), and lots more :)
Great video. Here's a question: Can I create a full website with multiple pages and Blogs on Podia? I want to sell an online video course, but I also want to have a full functioning website. I was thinking of creating the website on Squarespace, and uploading the course on Teachable, but then I started hearing about Podia and now I'm thinking of uploading the course on Podia. But I need to know if my needs require a full website creator like Squarespace or whether I can do everything on Podia. Thanks!
Believe it or not, yes! But there's a caveat. (here's a screenshot of my dashboard where I can create a new post/page share.getcloudapp.com/4guyQY4Z) Caveat = It's still mostly centered around your storefront, and you won't have nearly as much control over your site. Still, if you generally like the way Podia looks and feels, and only need blog posts, pages, and email capture--well, yeah I don't see why not :) P.S. I never recommend Squarespace for anybody anywhere. Only WordPress. Just my opinion though. It leaves SO many more options for the future!
@@DoYouEvenBlog Thank you Pete. Unfortunately I'm currently a Wordpress user and I'm fed up with how slow it can get. Admittedly I'm using an old theme, but I think Squarespace can provide better security and faster experience. I haven't used it yet, so hopefully I won't regret it!
It depends on how many features you need. Right now, Podia webinars are very basic, don't have other features other than an embedded video (RUclips live, or Zoom if you're on the $79/month plan), a text area underneath the video, and an accompanying email sequence. No embedded chat. No offers you can time. No evergreen webinar functionality, etc. If you're already a Podia customer for courses, and just need a simple webinar setup with no chat, it's great. Don't buy Podia just for webinars.
HI awesome video, but you did not go over if we can link podia to our website. meaning if we have our own website already can we link an online course?
Awesome content. Please what do you think 🤔 of zillearn. It's an online learning platform for creator as well. Wouldn't mind if you do a review on it. Thank you
@@DoYouEvenBlog Thats great. Thanks. Im checking the free trial, so far Im liking the platform. Do you sell your courses worldwide? If you do and you can comment, how does it work the payment for the final customer when they are not in your country, like international fees for example.
Great video! I'm curious how the sales pages work compared to Clickfunnels. Can you easily add the FB pixel and cart up sells? It would be AMAZING if podia replaced click funnels!
To me, ELEMENTOR replaced Clickfunnels long ago. I don't approve of CF, as it's old and clunky :) So, Podia DOES offer this, but it's on their $79/mo plan I think. Booo. But outside that, they do have a pretty nice setup w/ sales pages and upsells. NOT as customizable as CF or Elementor--but alas.
@@DoYouEvenBlog I'm not a techie person AT ALL, so once I'm in something I tend to stay with it for a long time just because the thought of switching causes me to sweat. ha! But appreciate your perspective and thoughts.

Hello, I want to have a website + newsletter + later on an online course and sell digital products (subscriptions to access some library of resources for example). I thought of using ghost for the newsletter and podia for digital products. Or perhaps I could just use Wordpress for everything (newsletters, digital subscriptions to digital products, or courses). Or use Wordpress + Sendfox + Podia for the online courses. What do you think from your experience? Any tips?
You can literally do any of those things, but I suppose that's part of the problem--there are so many options--it's all about finding what works best for you :) I like Ghost, but haven't spent a ton of time there. Sendfox is cool (and affordable), though it doesn't have many features at all (even far fewer than Flodesk, which is $19/mo for unlimited subscribers). I personally use WordPress for the website (and landing pages), Podia to deliver products, Thrivecart as a checkout platform (optional), and Zapier to integrate all that stuff. And Flodesk (and ActiveCampaign) for email.
@@DoYouEvenBlog Thank you for your answer. I hadn't heard of flodesk, thrivecart, or activecampaign. So I will go check them out. Any reason you use both Flodesk and ActiveCampaign at the same time? Regarding digital products and online courses, I stumbled upon acadle.com recently. They haven't RGPD support yet but they plan on supporting it in 2-3 weeks. Other than that the platform looks great. Is it possible to make a paid newsletter with Flodesk? I will go for Wordpress (website/blog/landing page) and probably go for flodesk. Later on I will decide between Podia, Acadle, and maybe woocommerce to sell digital products.
Question. Before the pandemic situation, I ran art camps and art clubs. I am a teaching artist, sole proprietor. Is there a online learning platform for people in my boat that is geared to families with elementary age students that you would recommend?
First, very cool! And keep doing what you do! Second, it depends on a few factors, MOSTLY A) free or paid? and B) what exactly are you teaching? Free = RUclips Paid = an online course platform like Podia would be great. We've watched quite a lot of art tutorials with my 5 yr-old in quarantine. Mostly "do this with me" sort of stuff!
@@DoYouEvenBlog Pete, thank you so much for responding!! I'm teaching 2d and 3d art. I was running 5 sessions a year at 5 elementary schools (1st-6th grade students, ninety students per session across the five schools) and 4 weeks of camp, in person instruction. All paid instruction. Projects range from, pencil, paper-maché, pen and ink, acrylic paint, clay, printmaking techniques, pastel, etc... I supply all the materials. The fees varied by length of program $75-130. Each after school program ran at or near full enrollment throughout the school year. Summer camps would fill by May. Our school district shut down on March 12th. I have really been struggling with a way to transition my business to an online platform that would, A) work for families with elementary age students, and B) have a interactive component where the kids could share the art they are creating and I could give feedback. My tech skills are moderate. :/ I have a BFA. I am a "teaching artist", I create interior murals, accept artist in residence gigs as well. I was one happy camper before all this new normal. I LOVE what I do, I mean did. Argh!! I admire what you are doing and have learned a lot from your RUclips videos so far! :) -Renée
You could do live classes via Zoom, where you instruct as they do it, but that may not work the best. My 1st thought was this: 1. Create tutorial videos, and use a platform like Podia to set it up (the non-techiest way to do this!) 2. Create boxes of supplies you could mail people! 3. Run the program as normal, allowing students to go through the instructional videos on their own time 4. Couple that with a weekly "office hours" or something on Zoom where they could ask questions or show their work. I know it's rough out there, and that's a different kind of "work," but maybe worth a shot?
@@DoYouEvenBlog First of all, you're the BEST! Thank you for your detailed feedback! Holy cow! I am making use of my Podia free trial to try to learn as much as possible before jumping in. I'm hoping the "Mover" plan will work for me. I LOVE the weekly office hours idea and the boxed supplies! This morning I cancelled all my in person camps for the summer. Offered credit or refunds to the families. The pressure of trying to get content up on Podia by June 22nd was kinda kill'in moi. Insert wacky face emoji here. I think it's TOTALLY worth a shot trying to get my programs on Podia. I'm excited, and anxious at the same time! :) Thank you!!! -Renée
Hey Pete, I feel a bit dumb asking this but how do people who want my type of course find me if I use Podia? If I go to Udemy I can search for what I want, preview the course and then decide. I tried to find Podia courses via search engine but no joy. What am I missing? How would someone find me and my course? Thanks Pete, great video :)
GREAT question. The answer is "your audience." Podia isn't a discovery platform like Udemy--it's more of a "host and delivery" platform. It doesn't do any marketing by itself. The real answer: You grow your audience (through SEO traffic, Pinterest, Facebook Ads, podcasting, RUclips, etc, etc), and you sell your course to those people :)
Hey Pete, thanks for the swift answer, I really appreciate it. I guess I knew that's how it works but i was sure I was missing something. All good. Thanks!
Just moving from Teachable to Podia... end user issues with Teachable is a big turnoff you're right! I'm finding the Podia trainings from the Matt aren't as good as yours, so I need you to keep at it!! Ps... yeah, I need new glasses, glare is a killer lol
Though I was definitely joking around in the video regarding price, I really do believe it's overpriced for what it is. I spent a hours in Kajabi creating stuff, and really didn't see a good reason to choose it over anything else. They're trying to be every tool and functionality for an online business, but they end up losing a ton of functionality compared to their more focused counterparts they're trying to replace. Just my 2 cents. :)
Haven't used it personally, but I hear great things! In fact, I know of one of my Online Impact students who just started using it and loves it. Gotta host your videos elsewhere though I think, like Vimeo!
@@DoYouEvenBlog A Banjo..? ...Move over Ed, there's a new sheriff in town! Btw congratz on your 2020 strategy.. "pssst.. its working". And might I add "Nice editing style on your vids". Love to know more about your process:)
Thanks for sharing so much knowledge and experience Pete. I have my videos and manual almost ready for my first course. My website is on Squarespace. Running a course from SS is possible with some membership plugins for security etc but you don't get the value a dedicated teaching site adds. I want my marketing efforts to direct traffic to my site and other non teaching products - not to some other platform. I see you use the $79 Shaker level, plus Active Campaign which can be very pricey plus however you host your website and that looks like it would get up to the Kajabi price range?
I just use the $39 Podia plan (I emailed the Podia team and asked if they'd hook me up with the Shaker plan for 30 days so I could make this video lol). 2 things: 1 - I rather pay $150/month using SEPARATE tools than $150/month for Kajabi. ActiveCampaign is 20x better at email marketing than Podia or Kajabi. More features, more power. I use Elementor for landing/sales pages on my site (similar to what you'll do using your SS site). Generally speaking, you'll have WAY for flexibility and customization using THOSE tools, rather than paying similar prices for an all-in-one platform like Kajabi. 2 - Some folks totally NEED all that flexibility and advanced use cases--or just don't care and would rather have ONE platform (Kajabi) to manage it, and that's totally ok! I'd suggest using your SS site for content, sales pages, whatever you like, and simply pointing people to your Podia sales page (you can literally link straight to a "buy" page URL, where it'll prompt them for their payment info). Hope that helps!
@@DoYouEvenBlog You are a legend Pete, thank you so much for your comprehensive reply. It is very generous of you and I appreciate it. You prefer dedicated tools that work better at what they do, than a jack of trades master of none approach. Can I just check are you saying when you say "simply pointing people to your podia sales page"? So I put a button on my SS site that links or redirects to podia and the user has to hook in each time they visit the course to my website? Does Google ranking treat that as traffic to my SS site? So I make a course called HT and the traffic comes to SSCelia and ranks as HT on SSCelia. I wrote to Podia and asked about all in one location and they sent me articles to read - not much of a response. If I go with Podia over Kajabi I would like to ensure that if you are affiliated you get the kickback so how do I be sure of that? Thanks Celia
First, here's Philippe's translation: Podia has stability issues with font settings that disappear after each update. It is necessary to watch the podia sites because unstable. Podia still lacks a lot of basic features and several bugs that have not been fixed for 6 months are annoying. 2nd, I haven't experienced this, but that's always a great thing to watch out for! I don’t think so? I’ve never encountered a core software that does this at all. You would need to record video presentations and upload them to every tool like this.

Pete McPherson DYEB I think for someone who’s ready to launch into memberships, Ghost looks like an enticing option! The user experience is very slick and a joy to use. But Podia’s draw is that it’s got everything built in. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the two compared when you get the chance!
Pete McPherson DYEB would also like your thoughts! I’d love to have Podia and Ghost work together. Sign up in podia and get access to a blog section in Ghost. FYI if you’re semi technical you can setup Ghost on DigitalOcean for like $3 a month! That’s what I did but ended up not using it but a great way to get ghost going cheaply. Pretty awesome!
Ok hero you just compared Podia to other expensive platforms but how about PayHip and GumRoad? unlike Podia which charge you a monthly premium, PayHip and GumRoad have a basic plan where they charge only upon selling. they take 5% only when you sell a digital product. But Podia gives you 14 free trial and after that it starts to charge you money even if you sell 0 product !!

Pete McPherson DYEB subbed....thank you!
Great video, thank you. I subbed.
You're more than welcome :)
This is a great video. very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a business that is ready to go to the next level with courses and I can’t figure out which platform to use. I can’t stand how complicated Teachable is to use and I hate the user view. It’s so clunky and outdated. Just subscribed and I’m excited to binge your tutorials!
Hey thanks! Happy to help :) :)
😂😂😂 you really make me remember kajabi for life 😂 but so true, I went to check their pricing a while ago. Saw it and NOPE 😂 never looked back since... But now podia... I'm absolutely in! You're awesome, epic video!!!
I am new to this but this was an awesome video. Thank you.
Pete, great video!
What about Podia's analytics for video engagement, course completition, sales? Is it good?
Ehhhhh it's ok. Not fantastic.
Video Engagement = don't even think they have.
Course completion = really solid on a per-customer basis--but no general overview tab (Why, podia???)
Sales = kinda basic.
@@DoYouEvenBlog thanks for the answer Pete
Create video! Would love to see an update for 2021. Is Podia still the best platform for courses? I'm actually looking for a platform so appreciate your review.
You're correct, I DO need an update video, and I'm still using them! They've put out some sweet new features recently, including an improved site editor, ability to sell coaching programs (with calendar integrations, etc), and lots more :)
@@DoYouEvenBlog Wow! I'm looking forward to your next video. Just subscribed to your channel so that I don't miss it.
(here's a screenshot of my dashboard where I can create a new post/page share.getcloudapp.com/4guyQY4Z)
Caveat = It's still mostly centered around your storefront, and you won't have nearly as much control over your site.
Still, if you generally like the way Podia looks and feels, and only need blog posts, pages, and email capture--well, yeah I don't see why not :)
I haven't used it yet, so hopefully I won't regret it!
im searching the same. All my website in Podia... Blog is important to give Value. I dont know if podia can do a good work as mi main website :/
Being serious, what do you think about Podia Webinars? Do you think is better than platforms like Easy Webinar? Regards
Subscribed, thank you. This is helpful for me starting up my online training business.
Welcome aboard!
Can you please do a comparison review of Podia and Heights Platform? Can't find that anywhere.
I Subscribed to you first off lol... i really enjoyed your video and look forward to more .
Thanks for the sub Penelope! and for the compliment as well :)
Pete! This video was thoroughly helpful and entertaining. Made me laugh and I learned a lot. Thanks so much!

hey you're welcome!
This is a great video, thank you for posting it.
Hey thanks!
HI awesome video, but you did not go over if we can link podia to our website. meaning if we have our own website already can we link an online course?
What do you mean by "link an online course?"
I.e. use your custom domain name for your entire Podia storefront/site/etc? Yes, you can do that.
Awesome content. Please what do you think 🤔 of zillearn. It's an online learning platform for creator as well. Wouldn't mind if you do a review on it.
Thank you
Never heard of it. Gonna Google it :)
Thanks for the useful information. How is the end user platform performance if you add 50+ videos (30-40 min each)? Does it get too slow or something?
Nope. Should be fine. All of their videos are hosting via Wisita, and are loaded on different pages.
@@DoYouEvenBlog Thats great. Thanks. Im checking the free trial, so far Im liking the platform. Do you sell your courses worldwide? If you do and you can comment, how does it work the payment for the final customer when they are not in your country, like international fees for example.
Had to pause video and make comments GREAT JOB THX
noice! You're welcome Jared!
VERY enjoyable to watch!
hey thanks!
Great video! I'm curious how the sales pages work compared to Clickfunnels. Can you easily add the FB pixel and cart up sells? It would be AMAZING if podia replaced click funnels!
To me, ELEMENTOR replaced Clickfunnels long ago. I don't approve of CF, as it's old and clunky :)
So, Podia DOES offer this, but it's on their $79/mo plan I think.
Hi! Great video!!;)) This is the best Podia review ever!! I am looking for an authoring tool and it's a mess out there, way too many! I'm not to techy so I'm escaping WP!;)) So I need an esay authoring tool that can crete interactivity. And also, how do you export them so they work on Podia, and will the interactive lessons work? I'm not sure they have htlm5 and how does that work anyway? I'm sure many people wonder about this!! A video on that would be amazing! If you have tools that you use, please let me know! Thanks for your great devotion and support to the Elearning industry Pete!;))
You're welcome Tommy!
And I'm afraid I'm not positive what you're actually asking? What do you mean by "authoring tool?"
Thanks I’ll take free trial. How’s podia for you now?
Still great. I'm still on it after 15-18 months now!
Love love love podia!
Very helpful video, I once tried Podia but I'm not happy with it that's why i switched to Vonza, because they got a complete set of marketing tools that is very helpful for my business
Always do what works best for you. No complaints from me here :)
thanks for the great info!
You bet!
Hello,
I want to have a website + newsletter + later on an online course and sell digital products (subscriptions to access some library of resources for example).
I thought of using ghost for the newsletter and podia for digital products.
Or perhaps I could just use Wordpress for everything (newsletters, digital subscriptions to digital products, or courses).
Or use Wordpress + Sendfox + Podia for the online courses.
What do you think from your experience? Any tips?
Subscribed btw! Great content :)
hey thanks!
You can literally do any of those things, but I suppose that's part of the problem--there are so many options--it's all about finding what works best for you :)
I like Ghost, but haven't spent a ton of time there.
SO good and so helpful!!!
So glad!
Free = RUclips
Paid = an online course platform like Podia would be great.
I have a BFA.
My 1st thought was this:
1. Create tutorial videos, and use a platform like Podia to set it up (the non-techiest way to do this!)
2. Create boxes of supplies you could mail people!
3. Run the program as normal, allowing students to go through the instructional videos on their own time
-Renée
@@DoYouEvenBlog is it possible to teach live Zoom from within Podia, instead of having to prerecord and upload videos?
Aw thank you for that Geraldine, and I will! Email pete@doyouevenblog.com if you have specific tutorial needs :)
Hi, do they have a plugin for WordPress ?
Nope. It’s a standalone product :)

Glad you liked it!
I got the anti-glare lens...it doesn't really work...OR I got ripped off 😁🤨
I 💗your presentation.......
Sorry, I didn't get it... what is your point of view about Kajabi? xD Nice review, thank you, you make it easy to choose. Regards
How do you feel about membervault?
Haven't used it personally, but I hear great things! In fact, I know of one of my Online Impact students who just started using it and loves it.
Gotta host your videos elsewhere though I think, like Vimeo!
@@DoYouEvenBlog . Thanks so much! MB also has a great FB group.

2 things:
1 - I rather pay $150/month using SEPARATE tools than $150/month for Kajabi.
Thanks for sharing.
Price doesn't really matters if you can have a good sales ,or if they can help you to reach potential sales .
I agree--but I haven't seen any evidence from anybody I know that this particular cost is justified in that way ;)
nice content
and thanks again!
Does Podia let you voice over presentations ?
I don’t think so? I’ve never encountered a core software that does this at all.
You would need to record video presentations and upload them to every tool like this.
@@DoYouEvenBlog I saw that thinkific does offer that option, Still leaning more into podia. thanks for the review
YO YO YO. What online course (or digital download) tool are you currently using?
Podia is my favorite by far as well! I'm working on getting my content together for my online courses so I'm excited to dive into it more when I'm ready! What's your take on Ghost.org launching built-in memberships? Looks intriguing to me!
WOAH WOAH WOAH WAIT. What is this, and why haven't I heard about it before now? Looks super interesting!
I'm definitely checking this out. Thanks Boomshiddang :)
How to download videos from podia to our pc ?
As a Podia user? You'd have to ask support.
As a watcher of videos? You're not supposed to do that (and it'd be super hard anyways)
awesome content
thanks!
This video (per the title) is about online course softwares.
Those aren’t online course softwares.

Why would you dismiss Kajabi on price alone? Maybe I can make that amount much more with it. It should be dismissed on its merits, not price.
Fair point ;)
Moral: don’t go to the “ dad-gum-too-expensive “ one.
Well, unless it's WORTH that price point (but yeah, I don't think this one is)
