- We are out hereeee on a pair of brand new SALOMON QST 98's!
In this video I give you a quick rundown on the skis and then take it straight up the mountain for its first lap EVER!
I shot this video on 2 different days. On the first day I split it up between trying these skis and the other new pair of Salomon skis, called the Salomon Blanks! I will have a video on these skis coming out shortly. On the second day I went up in search of the pow on Whistler and ended up getting it!
Overall the skis were a blast! Super fun and playful. Light but still charged in the more hardpack conditions. I can't wait to get my hands on a pair again and really put this ski through its paces.

Hi, where is your mounting point? I would like move to - 6 from True center. What do you think?
The recommended on this ski is -7 from true center. I usually have my skis center mounted but this time I went with the factory recommended settings. -6 would be fine
Are they great for a little bit of freestyle (360) with -7 ?

On the official website of salomon it describes these skis as all mountain (even though they are in the freeride section). I wonder how it does ON piste? Can it be compared to on piste skis? Can it carve nicely or it is useless on piste and it belongs to the powder?
works well on groomers. It isnt a narrow super stiff metal ski so obviously it skis differently but thats what the trade off it
Any idea how this compares to the BC 100? Seems like the new design is moving more in that direction
the rossi bc 100 positrack skis are little more touring orientated. the salomon 98 will ski way better, in my opinion

tails a different rocker profile, made it turn easier/slash and pop better. comparing to the qst 99 or 92 version
How would you say they compare to the qst99
pretty similar. slightly different shape and camber profile. beefed up the widewall for durability. if you were thinking qst 99 this would be the new comparable version!
