Probably not.
100% when ever I see a "food made fancy" video, the food always looks super good until they add caviar, truffle, and gold flakes EVERY TIME just to up the price. I'd be much more interested to just see expensive versions of the legit ingredients used well.

Somewhat dismayed that apparently there's a level of pointless excess now beyond even edible gold---both were onto something to an extent on the pizza fundamentals in terms of the saffron, cheeses, etc...but both went awry once leaving the oven for all the cringing inclusions. Truffle/caviar/Metals is just...played out.
I was hoping to see a higher effort red sauce, high end lard or some such to bolster a detroit or chicago style's pan crust, maybe one of those cost per ingredient counters sourcing something insane. Probably the only episode in the series yet that just went off rails in such a direction.
Yep. When Nicole said she didn't want to just pile on random stuff, I was puzzled, because that felt like exactly what was happening. They ended up throwing on classic "status symbol" ingredients instead of using their funding to make a high end but still cohesive pizza. If you go into a Michelin starred restaurant, you don't get dishes with gold leaf and caviar just tossed on (well, maybe you do); you get a dish with high quality ingredients used meaningfully. If you put something like this up to something like Sean Brock's cooking, you realize the difference between buying expensive food as a status symbol and buying expensive food because you're paying to experience art.

Yeah if they had done it more like fancy fast food on mythical and went nuts with base ingredients it woulda been way better. I'm dissapointed with nicole, because she does this regularly and FFF is 10x more entertaining and mouthwatering. And apparently Im not the only one that feels this way because, for those of you that cannot see dislikes, this video currently has 1.9k likes and 2k dislikes.

Throwing expensive items on a pizza won't improve the quality or flavor. Liked the girl eating the pizza, she was honest and on target.
But also a bit off an odd choice to judge this. If you're gonna put truffles and caviar on something, maybe don't let someone judge it who doesn't like either?

This felt like a blowout. Nicole from MK seemed to have a much better understanding of what works with what. Comte, chanterelles, and the speck would have been amazing as is. The added burrata is the excess I would have liked. Also, aside from her (both of them) undercooking it, the saffron dough sounds amazing. PW Nicole's pizza was just stuff piled on other stuff. All the salty ingredients and truffles probably hid the flavor of the wagyu. Also, cooking black truffles hides the aroma and flavor.

I have basic B**** palette and a plain straight-up nothing fancy NY cheese slice will always be the first choice for me. Have you had Dave P from One Bite Pizza Review be a guest judge yet? He can be pretty tough to impress.
