The interaction from the developers towards the community has been nothing but lies and dismissal.

Man, u are doing great work, dice cannot keep this double standard when they keep banning people who doesnt disagree with them. They are claiming they listen to the cominuty and when they dont add features comunity wants, they try to silence the oposition. Great vid, i think all creators should cover this. Iam baffled that jackfrags didnt said a single word about this yet. He is i think most liked in the creative network by DICE and this really afects him aswell.
I just canceled my annual EA subscription, and I'm thinking to stop to play 2042. And we all should do that.

It's astounding that they still think they have any goodwill in the community at all with this game.
It launched as a dumpster fire, has been patched at a slow rate to a launchable condition over a year in, and suffers from extreme content drought as well as any semblance of balance at all in any aspect of the game.
Incredibly sad that this is what the franchise has become and I have absolutely no faith in the future of the franchise or community under the current DICE team.

Bro.. I don’t know anything about your ban apart from watching your video on it. I don’t think you would have gotten banned if you didn’t undermine your apology post by blaming the toxic messages that developer received on their own decisions. You failed to take full responsibility. Doubled down by intentionally posting a video that would create more toxicity toward that developer-the same action you already apologized for doing unintentionally-turned this minor unprofessional event into a major one. Those missing features are beside the point in all this. Take five and check in with yourself. You’re a great content creator and you’ll be fine.

@@Logstickz I don't support fan communities harassing workers at a company because of a creator's attitude, and I also think it's really dumb when players frame every bad decision Dice makes that in the lens of culture war/sjw politics. However, Dice publicly announced that the kick/ban features were not going to be included, and that's the primary reason they were receiving toxic messages. I'm not of the mind that creators are unintentionally incentivizing their audience to go after developers. Catalyst for example in this video says don't go harass the devs. Some viewers won't hear that and will do it anyways... does that make their harassment Catalyst's fault? I don't think so. I don't really get this attitude that people are sheep being guided around by their favorite content creators... whatever happened to personal responsibility? People aren't watching Ender's or Ghost's videos and then being mind-controlled into harassing the devs.

It’s cringy to see this video & Ghosts video that are aimed to indirectly stir up hate toward the development team over nothing.
Glad to see the modern bf community take a stand for what has been pretty well known problem for awhile now. DICE and EA have been watering down the awesome Battlefield formula. It doesn't need to be static you can always expand it and include new ideas but when you use those new ideas as a basis for watering down the backbone of the game you ruin the whole. Modern BF players have been making excuses about this for awhile now its good for them to finally put some good points toward fixing what has been a flawed formula for awhile now. BF veterans, no not modern BF game veterans but BF veterans used to the standard bf2/2142 set have been sounding the alarm for a long time now. Maybe you don't agree with all our points but all of your points have been parts of our grievances. I spent so much time trying to make these games work out into the firebrand that was the well oiled machine of a game flow previous titles were even with minor bugs and issues. It's just sad to know that it is finally hitting the boiling point we all expected it to get to. Welcome to the club.
@@FragRaptor I'm pretty new to BF but have time in BF4 and have been playing shooters for 20+ years and have seen the entire genre go downhill. Unreal Tournament was more my jam back in the day. Epic killed that too now though. BF is in a strange and unique spot because so many of it's contemporaries have become copy-cat cookie cutter games (Battle royale games especially) that even a bad battlefield game feels refreshing. Not good per se, especially not in comparison to previous titles, but refreshing until the boredom and despair set in.
I don't think many people think about this, but if 2042 had been an excellent game out the gate, it could have sucked marketshare away from COD, away from Fortnite, away from Apex, away from Destiny and other big tentpole franchises. In today's FPS market, a successful Battlefield could have been earth-shatteringly disruptive for the industry. But here we are...

In all seriousness the last couple weeks have really soured my personal experience with the game. I got it for cheap during season 2 and have had fun with it for the most part, but the needless nerfs to Irish, the piss poor implementation of squad management, if you can even call it that, and the utter delusion to banning Ghost from EA creators and Enders from the game has really turned me off of even wanting to play.
When the weapons lead literally admits that he knew the G57 has been OP, but didn't want to nerf it until low skilled players starting using it, or they say Irish has a low pick rate so their logic to increase that is to make his best gadget much worse, or them targeting someone as a scapegoat for their own piss poor decision making because it was received negatively, you really have to ask yourself if they even play the game they claim to work on. I don't follow too many games these days, but I don't think I have ever seen a company softer at receiving criticism than I have DICE. At this point they are their own worst enemy and if that behavior doesn't change I can't see the franchise having any success now or into the future.
They wouldn't be nerfing Irish again if they actually played the game. Irish APS is countered by tank shell splash, explosive splash through walls (typically 30mm/40mm/50mm cannons damaging it through solid walls/surfaces via the splash damage), EMP grenades, Casper's drone (been a thing for a while, but they buffed it so his drone can destroy them with the EMP darts as opposed to temporarily disabling them) and more recently C5, and for a time it was also countered by Zain's airburst (still kind of is, but it's not consistent). If they're really worried about camping tanks, they could just give us a dumbfire and/or ground vehicle lock-on EMP launcher that the IPS Shootdown Sentinel can't destroy. Nerfing Irish's best gadget again is going to make the explosive spam in the game unmanageable, especially in modes like Breakthrough that have a lot of explosive spam (especially on certain maps like Stranded and Flashpoint).

This whole thing kinda crossed the line for me. We as a community have endured so much stupid decisions and lies since the game launched, and when there was a tiny spark of hope that they have finally started to listen, they hit us with this. I have no faith in the future of this franchise anymore.
I don't get this attitude from Dice and some commenters, it's like they think people watch a Ghost or Enders video and are then somehow mind-controlled into threatening individual devs. What happened to personal responsibility? Even Enders who can be pretty negative has never promoted targeted harassment or threats of violence. If someone watches a video and decides to send threats to a dev, that's awful, but it's their own responsibility, not the content creators'. Even if Enders was maybe a bit mean, it's still not Enders' responsibility.

Well said. I enjoy the game. I love the franchise but their decision making is beyond me. Very poor judgment on this topic by Ea/Dice. Its going to backfire way more then the cause of the bans. Very possible they will get even more toxic behavior from fans. Aggravate a situation they wanted to avoid.
There was no reason to cancel Voice chat in 2021 , all chat and there is no reason to take away the kick out options now. Just put in what is suppose to be in the game an that’s all.

This whole thing really put a sour taste in my mouth. It seemed like the game was slowly going in a positive direction, aside from lack of content. I didn't care about the missing squad features very much. It was kinda lame but also dumb on people to frame it as a culture war issue. But at this point I really don't feel like even playing 2042 any more.

Catalyst. Thank you for making this video. I could not agree more. Every point you make is spot on. Which is sad as this hammers home the fact -- once again -- how much of a shit company Dice is. Even if there are good and passionate developers, their effort is completely overshadowed/negated by their management.
I seriously hope to at least read some sincere apology by Dice in the next few days in which case I will try my hardest to actually believe in that -- not sure if I succeed. But I will not be holding my breath.

Wow, that is so on point! Your video mirrors my thoughts I had the last three days. I was especially shocked when I heard, that they kicked Ghost from the Creator Network. What a nice guy, I‘d say one of the most likable Bf Content Creator out there, true to this franchise for ages and they punish him for something he is not even able to do. Since they are the ones, ruining everything the franchise use to offer us and killing one of the most unique multiplayer shooter out there. They are killing this community and their own product.

If they're gonna ban us for voicing our opinions and criticizing them when they continue to do stupid mistakes, they might as well do it cus I don't want to play a game or be part of a community that gets harassed by the devs this much.
This dev team is nowhere near as professional as years past (BF-BF4). Ghost did nothing wrong. Dice is to blame for there lack of ability to make a proper game with ‘legacy features.’
I mean he did post a message from a private discord without permission. It stemmed from that ultimately.

100% agree with your take on this situation. It really made me think about being a part of this community for so long and just saying "Fuck this petty shit, I'm out." Not sure who made those official calls to ban both Enders and Ghost, but they need to FIRE that person because its going to cost them in the long term.
I’m still baffled that they took almost 2 years to implement an actual squad customization system. It’s like I cant imagine how incompetent the dev team has to be when handling a AAA title.

A very well delivered opinion. It's very sad that the community's opinion on the game, in general, was improving, players are returning and a more positive view of the game was taking shape. Then they do this, and throw all of that away. It wasn't the sharing of that screenshot that ruined things, it was their reaction to it all. Such a shame.
I haven't been involved in the BF community since the 2042 launch, but this feels a lot to no the "no scoreboard" or "no deaths in scoreboard" move they did with the game lmao.

Seems like DICE just doesn't have a lot to do from day to day. That's generally when petty conflicts happen in a workplace.
Not very well thought through and insightful from the community manager to choose to escalate the situation like this, and a situation like this in the wake of it all, is what a community manager should foresee.
The Glassdoor reviews if DICE makes sense. The best developers that represent Battlefield have left the company for Embark studios and others. Look at the style and quality of Arc Raiders and The Finals games and clearly see where quality is now.
I don't own Battlefield 2042, but my opinion with the squad kick feature seems to be discussed internally from a point of trying to control a "positive player behaviour" rather than give quality of life options: Manipulation before Quality of life.
About the bans of Ghost and Enders.
Time for the Battlefield community of creators on RUclips to get organized outside of any totalitarian "Creators network" so you can make your own official statements that align with the community values. These statements they post up on twitter as a "reminder" seems very totalitarian to me.
The Battlefield community should get independently organized.
It's normal to be organized within the professional field in labour unions to have balance towards an employer. Their creator network is a pyramid scheme they try to make creators aspire to, but it’s a tool for control. It's unhealthy for the community. Imagine if an employer also was in charge of the union.
That's what the EA creator network is; a union that is controlled by the employer. I've never heard anyone talk about this, but it's really ridiculous how EA tires to project this totalitarianism onto the player community. I recommend the Battlefield community gets independently organized.
Not being able to kick out unhelpful players who don't respond to or fulfill my requests for them to be more helpful in some way is something that is strictly counterproductive to cooperation and "PTFO behavior". If I'm not able to kick someone who's being uncooperative and useless out of my squad so that way they can be replaced by someone who is far more cooperative and useful, then what exactly is the difference between having squad management and having no squad management? "Squad management" becomes an oxymoron if you can't actually manage the players in your squad.
Don't worry everyone! We're getting Squad Management... without the management feature.

Bravo ❤ well said. DiCE expect a pat on the back for basic features that are EXPECTED. This is a FRANCHISE which means we as customers aka fans EXPECT a SIMILAR product to PRIOR products with only a context change e.g. WW2 to Vietnam to modern day setting with minor evolutions to mechanics. If DICE cannot provide this they should pack up the studio and give the job to someone else. Currently in my opinion they have failed controller players especially controller players with advanced settings for the last 18 months. Not to mention the PC MnK players with their dreadful input lag.
EA and DICE are solely responsible for any bad will regarding their design decisions and product delivery. I began with BF 5 and they have failed to regain it to this very day. Although Ghost was in the EA Creator Network for years he never once received an invitation to one their content creation events. In other words he got almost nothing from EA and DICE.
I am on board with all of what u said.. we need more of this tone from battlefield content creators, we need to stop to be nice
EA/Dice is a woke company with DEI values. This is the basis for all their actions that have led to these situations. They are muting their player base whenever their feelings get hurt. This is along the lines of what Twitter was doing pre-Musk. I think an organized boycott of the game over a day or 2 long period would really make them raise their eybrows and maybe realize that they are overstepping their bounds.

If Dice wants better PR, then they should just do better. And on the subject of squad kick. If I get kicked from a squad, I'm only sad for about 2 seconds. Doesn't make me want to stop playing all together. I just move on to join another squad, or I make another squad.
I just want 2042 to end and for the next Battlefield game to come out. All we want is a game that’s enjoyable, has every basic feature from literally every other Battlefield game and for the developers to not be born with glass bones and paper skin. I haven’t played 2042 for a while and I’m not motivated to ever play it again. Dice has lost any identity of what they once were many years ago and should just change their name and start over. Leadership needs changing, some developers need to be fired and replaced, EA needs to stop trying to abolish toxicity. EA and Dice have become what they swore to destroy, toxic.

Even if someone is harassing, banning them from the game wouldn't stop that, you would look to ban them from whatever platform they're harassing on.

Enders is a guy that can be hard for some people to watch , but he is always right on the money with his criticism about the game and passionate about the franchise. Being concerned that squad kick and ban features are "bad for healthy PTFO behavior" is also dumb, as if every squad leader in a match is some power tripping antisocial lunatic. If there are toxic players in your squad you should be able to kick them, if your squad leader is toxic you can leave that squad.
after sticking with 2042 for 18 months, I was heavily considering purchasing the s5 battle pass as a kind of "thank you for caring enough to try"...but after this bullshit from dice. Not only have I uninstalled the game, but I wont be purchasing or playing another bf title again. The behaviour of dice here is abhorrent and unforgivable.

You can just tell they have a release plan of new BF or something. They are paving the way for the new game, so any negative comments that could hurt the sale amount will get silenced.

Well put and I completely agree. This is all true and valid . And they should really not be able to do anything more than take it on the chin. They knew exactly what they were giving us at launch and that people weren’t gonna be happy. This is criticism of a product we paid for, and I feel in this case definitely not harassment.

It's a trend in gaming lately, developers don't play their games, they don't understand why it's successful (or was successful), ignore all the feedback, work on stuff nobody asked etc... Battlefield, World of Warships, Grant Turismo 7, CoD, Overwatch... amm these games are made by devs that litteraly have no idea what they are doing, because they are so far up their asses and always think they have all the answers and the community feedback is always wrong...
I sit back and just watch what's happening instead of voicing concern these days.

If they will not listen to vocal feed back on there game. We as a community need to voice our opinions with are money. No preorders, no deluxe editions, just wait till it’s available in store. I personally will not purchase the next BF till you, Enders and GGG say it’s a worth purchasing. If the next one is like 2042, I’ll purchase it for 5 bucks 6 months after launch.

We obliviously need a real squad management system, but i agree with Dice/EA that you shouldn't be able to kick players from a squad, you should simply be able to create your own with your buddies and lock it. It's the same topic as "pilot choose gunner" in BF3, this is a game if there is a gunner seat empty and i spawn on it who are you to tell me to get out so your friend can hop in ? Brother i've worked my ass off all day i got like 2 two hours of playtime ahead of me if you don't want to play with me then you hop out motherfucker there are 10 other guys on our team who'd like your seat.

Its a shame. since the feminism push in the beginning of BF5 to the "dont like it dont buy it" to the 1st TTK change in BF5 to the good pacific dlc to then be squandered by yet ANOTHER ttk change that NOBODY asked for, its been a rolorcoaster of out of touch, and dice was asked to stop these changes but did them anyway. Now an even worse game comes out with many missing features from previous bf games being called a "brutal expectation" and after almost 2 years later of still having less content and an even slower drip feed of content than BF5 we get the devs banning people calling them out on all the BS they brought us through that i just mentioned.
This time it was for a MINOR feature of kicking players from previous bf games that NEVER caused an issue the the degree that these devs are claiming. I dont understand how a dev team can shoot themselves in the foot so many times and still be running. At this point with this new DICE after bf1 was made and ended because bf1 is a good battlefield game, i hope they end up like Viceral Games and EA shuts them down even tho its probably EAs fault. They dont deserve to tarnish the name of DICE any further. Take it out to the field and put it down. They are LITERALLY getting worse at a VERY RAPID rate that is increasing every release. BF5 THEN 2042 the pattern is undenyable.

And it sucks for ghost, he should have been given another chance, but it makes sense with these big companies that one bad move can get you booted/fired/banned if it crosses the wrong person. Every big corporation is like this. I feel bad for ghost for stepping in it but when it comes to a big corporation, being forgiving isnt in their nature. They are a steamroller that keeps moving regardless of who gets crushed.

I just picked up this game again and holy crap I could not have gotten back at a worst time. What makes it even worse is I have been genuinley been having a great time! But this really ruins that. I have been playing games since I was six years old (I am 18 now) And I have never seen a company do this before. This is the most immature and "agenda" pushing thing and ruins videos these devs are honestly big babies and need to grow up

You do have to remember its not the same dice as it was when bf4, bf3 was made its a whole new team all the good devs from dice left. Thats why battlefield sucks now.
This is sad. Dice is killing the franchise in every possible way. Bad game design, worse changes to them, attacking the community.... They have good stuff even in this game which might be worst Battlefield so far. They had so many communication avenues with the podcast, live streams and interacting in Twitter. It's so sad because I know how this could be seen by investors who already ruined the game forcing release way too early. They end it, just like BFV. Which by the way is also next to unplayable with the rampant hacker problem with no player controlled servers.

the reason why you should not take out a squad member is for one reason he also paid for the game and has a right to play although if he does not go your way of thinking tough luck i also came to that point but i would not move him from the squad .
what right as a player should you have to take him out of the squad no right at all
if you as a player is not happy with the squad you are playing with , you should take out your self and move to another squad of your choice and that works and happens
so what they changed how the mechanics work you would find that those that got kicked out would be not happy neither being taken out of the squad .

To be honest, I think Enders very often crosses the line in terms of professionalism and socially acceptable behavior. I watch most of his videos (haven't stopped by the stream) and personally, I think he uses a lot of inflammatory language that is unnecessary to make his points. Would he use the exact same words if he were sitting in a room with the developers? He also doesn't seem to take similarly worded criticism of his content very well, so it sometimes feels in poor taste. However, he's a highly skilled player and generally does bring up a lot of meaningful criticisms (if poorly worded) that are still valuable in this time where a lot of the content around the game has shifted to be quite positive (my own included). The positivity could be misleading if that's all you see and having someone who will still spend the time to point out the issues is very valuable not just to the community, but to someone like me so I can reconsider my own depiction/coverage of the game.
With all of that, the ban was unjustified and what particularly rubs me the wrong way is the line about healthy dialog. Personally, I think DICE as a company needs to have a thicker skin and just ignore Enders if they really don't value his flavor of criticism. However, if he bothers them so much to the point of being reactionary, then I'd love to see them engage with him directly. Whether private or public, I think it would be perfectly fine for them to say that they value his insight, but would ultimately request he deliver his critique in a more respectful fashion. Personally I feel Enders often flies off the handle because he, like many others, feels unheard and unacknowledged and extending a peaceful olive branch could go a long way to having more meaningful dialog about the game and its development. However, I understand a huge corporation like EA/DICE generally won't engage in this way, so I'd rather they just ignore than throw around bans.
As far as Ghost, I was really sad to see this one. He's generally kind of how I think criticism and coverage should happen. It's clear and concise, but respectful and tactful. It's honest, but mature. It wouldn't have been as big of a deal (to me) if the reaction from DICE was something like, "Hey, I know you regret it and didn't mean to cause a stir, but it's the rules and we have to be consistent" and that was the reaction immediately with a kick from the server, maybe even just a temp kick. I understand that perspective. But giving the impression of a slap on the wrist only to then kick him as some kind of retribution when players didn't like DICE's reasoning for feature omission was lame, petty, and came off as a high school drama type of decision.
I agree with you though, there's something really wrong with DICE's PR approach. Plenty of companies don't necessarily engage with the player base the way the players would like, but most of them don't engage in such an emotional, reactionary, flailing way.
