► In the world of Pokemon Games, there are mysterious things called Eggs. Eggs are usually produced from Pokemon Breeding when two compatible Pokemon are put in the daycare together. However, what would happen if you modified the games to allow you to encounter eggs in the wild? How would the games react?
Today, I'll be playing Pokemon Gold/Silver and Crystal, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire and Emerald, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, Pokemon Black and White, Pokemon X and Y, and Pokemon Sun and Moon to allow us to encounter EGGS in the wild. Will they hatch? How will the games react?

I believe the rom hack Pokémon Glazed has something like that, where after getting Surf, you can go south of the starting town to get a Lapras egg just sitting in a cave out on the water.
I've never played that game but it sounds like you could think the parents had just been poached and you were rescuing the egg from being all alone or from more poachers

@El Joshi De Peluche that would be very very mean? Like it's basically killing the parents (I know you faint them but still!) and stealing their child?!? I think you can only steal eggs who's parents have died.
You know, my sister made a bad egg after hacking Pearl version, and eventually traded it into Heartgold version (it crashed dozens of times before it worked). After which, she used it in the Pokeathlon. That egg broke the pokeathlon so bad, that she had the highest score possible on every course. Lamp Jump, all Pokemon get stunned, all lamps get hit for 5 points, and repeat as soon as the lamps turn on again. Relay race, if you run into a certain rock, it will teleport you to lap 99, and if you complete another lap, it goes back to lap 99. That's just the tip of the iceberg with what happened.

I wonder if the step counter for that Gen 2 egg actually had a limit or if it was just bugged out entirely. Meaning either unhatchable or had a step counter of something like 999,999.
Wouldn’t it limit at like 255 because the game boy games are 8-bit?
it would probably dedicate 16 bits for the step counter so it would max out at 65,535

What may be worth testing is hacking other eggs in to your party in R/S/E. Like the Wynaut egg from the hot springs functions like a normal level 5 Wynaut. So would an egg thats destined to hatch in to a Torchic do the same? And if so what happens when the egg pokemon gains XP or levels up?

Absolblogspokemon did a similar glitch in emerald using the pomeg berry and leveled the egg to level 100
What if you managed to train the Egg Wynaut somehow? It would be difficult, as it can't learn any damaging moves until level 15, but I would be interested in seeing what happens when you evolve it before it hatches.

Have you tried using Ditto to transform into the wild Egg in any generations? It might be worth a look.
The eggs weren't fertilized so they couldn't hatch. You know what I mean..

Cool vid, couple things to note you can encounter a manaphy egg in gen 4 and 5, also I'm not entirely sure how but you can encounter an egg with the egg sprite in gen 6 as shown in videos from other youtubers who have used PKhex. Finally I've heard that if you hack the gen 2 glitch egg into your party it is possible to make it hatch but will always hatch into another egg and cause its level to reset although I've not been able to confirm this

I did some action replay hacking in my emerald version. Months after the fact, i came across the daycare having an egg for me, despite only having one pokemon (ditto) in the daycare. I took it, and it functioned like a normal egg, except it took ages to hatch. Once it finally did, it hatched into a male egg. a level 45 egg named - with the move thunderpunch. Its summary was viewable, but ability and xp were glitchy and unable to be deciphered. and its sprite would hatch into nothing. The egg worked in combat just fine. I think its in battle sprite was the decamark. or the hatched egg (blank). I even bred it with a ditto. That egg had more normal hatch times and it also hatched into a level 45 egg, although this one was female and knew thunderpunch and one of the kick moves. Figured this would be a good video to share this on.

For the glitch dimension, it’s got the correct shading and for NPCs and you, it’s actually close to a normal gameboy’s colours. And yes, I know this video is a year old.

The reason the color palette changed in gold and silver is because the coin case causes the game to think it’s being played on a original gameboy
