These are probably the evolutions and pre evolutions to pre existing pokemon that were released in gen4, like Munchlax, Honchkrow, Togekiss, Bonsly, Mamoswine, and such, but were scrapped for some unknown reason. My belief is that each gym leader and elite 4 were to have one new evolution each (Probopass for Roxanne, Lucario for Brawly, Magnezone for Wattson, etc) during rematch, but probably due to not being able to create them all, or evo methods or maybe not enough space, they were scrapped. So, the game just clubs Missingno with those and pops up that page.
They kind of had to. They knew some guy would try doung something like this with missingno and if they hadnt coded something like this into the game, the player could have their whole file corrupted or erased
@@G-B-F123 not really, missing no has zero data in every generation, missing no is a result of having a battle without a Pokémon triggering it, as a result the game attempts to pull information from anywhere it can to form information for the Pokémon you’re battling (generation one being the letters in your name) missing no is the game is attempt to artificially create a Pokémon with no immediate Pokémon information, hence why technically every game can do it (because the glitch isn’t that information it’s a lack of information)

It's a shame Nintendo sees MISSINGNO. as another glitch to warn everyone about. Honestly, I think that MISSINGNO. should at least be referenced in future Pokémon games.
I remember when I was a kid, I was messing around with an action replay on diamond and pearl. I believe there’s a part in the game where you have to go through a cave with a lady thy makes every battle a double battle. I was doing the walk through walls glitch where I was walking on top of water and I encountered a misingno double battle
wow, that’s cool! also, in gen 4, this missingno is known as Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur due to it having a Bulbasaur cry and always being shiny, aka DPBox.
I corrupted the hell out of my copy of Diamond using tweaking and managed to get myself stuck in a permanent state of being in partner double battles where my partner was invisible and sent out a "shiny" missingno before crashing the game. Really sucked too as I had around 400 hours in that save and couldn't find a way to fix it. The only areas I found that worked properly was the Trophy Garden and Safari Zone
I didn't wanna be that person who just goes on his videos and ask for other content, but I agree. I originally subscribed to this person to see more of Outlaw, and he said it'd air on Sunday (which now has been like 2 weeks since he said that). :(
The one in Emerald would actually be a cool concept. It could be a ghost Pokémon that has no form but when it interacts with another Pokémon it becomes it but instead of ditto with just transforming, the other Pokémon becomes it (of course when it faints it’ll give the Pokémon back). It could have its own moves too instead of taking the other’s moves. It’s like ditto, but with extra steps
I discovered the missingno at HGSS when I played a little with the cheats that came at Drastic and felt like a discoverer of something no one knew. I even showed it to my friends when I went to school the next day.
That gen 2 egg thing is pretty interesting. When the game starts up, it tries to detect what console it's on by checking a certain register value. But the "crash" caused the game to reset without clearing any registers, so the game ends up thinking it's on a normal Gameboy instead of a GBC so it doesn't reset the pallette.
2:40 its a glitch dimension. because of the sudden crash/restart it think its being played on a gameboy hence the colours spot how it is literally only two colours on different shades? Yes, that is also secondary proof it is this way
The blue and red is called a glitch dimension. This happens because of the sudden reset the game thinks its being played on a game boy not a game boy color.
I don't think so. The colors are all the same in this, and in a Glitch Dimension it looks like there are patches of color that change randomly. I think that the glitch Pokemon just overwrote the game's palette data. I could be wrong, though.

However if you go over that level limit with rare candies, or if you fight a battle and it levels them, they will go to level 1. @@daddadification Well no. Because the original Gameboy only had the power to run a green background with black pixels. But it would be a smart way to know!
Counter deflects the damage you lose by double. example, wobbafett takes 100 hp damage, then uses counter. The opponent takes 200 hp damage. It doesn't reflect the damage done, it reflects the hp the user lost
70 is the level at which you encounter a lot of legendaries, but level 80 is the level you'd encounter missingno (technically 'M) at because of how the game terminates name data. Other than that, an actual missingno (not 'M) is encounterable at any level.
Nobody: Not a single soul: Poketips: What happens if you give youeself negative amounts of money and leave your trainer in crippling debt in every Pokemon game
In Pearl / Diamond you can find a more traditional Missingno. by getting to the area beneath the bridge where you're supposed to have a partner with you and everything is double battles without getting your partner - walk through walls. Normally here you run into 2 wild pokemon at a time but without your partner the second is almost always Missingno. And it messes with the game hard if I recall. I liked the video but I was curious as to why you tested everything except levelling them up. In Red/Blue 'M' and Missingno. would evolve into Ditto or something like that (might have been Chansey - can't remember off hand.) . I'd be curious to see what happens to the games when it tries to process what to do when they level up and/or evolve if it's triggered.
For gen 4, I used action replay to go through walls, so I skipped getting your first Pokemon and went straight to a battle to see what would happen. You throw out missingno. If you try to attack it says you have no usable moves, then tells you you have no usable Pokemon and you faint
2:38 Fun fact: When the game crashed, it automatically thinks it's being played on an original GameBoy (even though it was made for the GameBoy Color) so it defaults to red and blue in order to make the contrast easier to see on the Gameboy. This would look totally normal on an actual GameBoy, and this is why it looks weird on the Color (something about the registries not being checked or cleared properly due to it crashing so it ends up matching up with an original GameBoy.) (jfb-1337 said something about it down somewhere in the comments, cause I can't find any mention of it online but I swear there's a video explaining it somewhere)

I can tell you what is very likely to happen in gen6 and 7 when encountering a mon with ID 0: You get that nameless bulbasaur from the "leaving town without a pokemon" videos again. Why? Because in most code, a value of 0 is treated as "nothing". When "nothing" is in your party, all the pokemon in your party technically have ID 0, and since the battle system assumes the first party slot is always filled (except in gen2), it forces to load the empty slot (i.e. ID 0) as a pokémon. Now, the newer games have failsafes when looking up pokemon-related data. If the game is trying to get the model for _any_ invalid ID (including 0), it'll load bulbasaur's, the name will be some placeholder, the base stats will be 0 and etc. It's not very interesting compared to the older games where the validity of a pokemon ID isn't checked and it'll load whatever data it happens to find. Just keep this in mind: a value of 0 usually means "empty". This explains why nothing is visible in the party of gen3 and 4, why you can't select it in the box (the game simply checks what the ID of the mon you're pointing at is, if it's 0, there's nothing there) why there's "no target" in gen4, and why it disappears from the party when moved in a box in gen3 (it simply removes all zeroes from the party). To be treated as an actual Pokémon, its ID has to be anything but 0. And yes, in gen2, when the game crashes on the gameboy color, it'll restart, but think it's running on a monochrome gameboy (since the value that's checked for this has long since been cleared). This means it'll never update the colors on the screen, since the monochrome gameboy didn't have any. This is affectionately called the "Glitch Dimension" (look it up), and doesn't work in Crystal since that doesn't run on a monochrome gameboy.
When MissingNo disappeared at 6:30, try moving your last pokemon from party in to the pc, let MissingNo disappear and see if you can just walk away without pokémons
I absolutely want to see this. My wildest guess is that the game might somehow spit out a Ditto egg even though Dittos aren't supposed to be able to reproduce, since the game doesn't really know what to do with the code of the Missingno.
In first gen I remember catching missingno and teaching it 4 HM moves then giving it a rare candy when it went up a level it would evolve to a kangaskon and I would have a kangaskon that knew fly and surf maybe you could give something like this a try and see if the different gens can evolve or something of that nature with a rare candy
In Gen 2 the game treats encounters with glitch Pokémon like link battles as an error handler, likely to prevent the game from potentially crashing. Also, after attempting to catch the egg, the game restarts in what is called a "glitch dimension" in which the colors are different.
Not in blue. Red and yellow were ok, for some weird reason. Blue versions would outright brick forever. A lot of people I knew had blue versions and I had yellow, and one friend had red. We tradeded with missing number, and our friends got really mad. Lol 🤣
Hardware failure doesn't make sense. I meant when I was a kid. I'm pretty dang old. Lol. I'm sure the surviving Pokemon carts nowadays were probably late production revisions and not early hardware, Hence aren't affected much, if at all. It stands to reason, too, that games that got bricked or were vulnerable would have been discarded. I sure wouldn't have kept a broken game.
@@daz1200 Only at the very end of the video and the title flat out promised "every generation" and there wasn't even a single hint towards it being a part 1. Sure the description didn't mention games beyond Black & White, but it was stuctured in a way that made it not easy to figure it out, and who the fuck even reads the description on a video like this.
When it said, "waiting", since it thinks you are in a link battle, it waits for the "player" to choose a move for their pokemon. But since it's not a link battle, it keeps saying "waiting"

Lvl 60 Heracross uses STAB Counter on Lvl 2
"It shouldn't do too much"
Counter just attack with the double strength if it got hurt from a physical move before.
@@Acacius1992 even more, it hit 8, when he saw missingno hp it had 12, so 8x2... xD
Counter deflects the damage you lose by double. example, wobbafett takes 100 hp damage, then uses counter. The opponent takes 200 hp damage. It doesn't reflect the damage done, it reflects the hp the user lost
that's still the damage done
So Imagine using Counter on a Pokémon with Sturdy so anything that would one hit gets doubled back.
70 is the level at which you encounter a lot of legendaries, but level 80 is the level you'd encounter missingno (technically 'M) at because of how the game terminates name data. Other than that, an actual missingno (not 'M) is encounterable at any level.

Pretty sure M or Missingno would evolve into Kangaskan
@@pikapower_kirby Yeah, which also makes Sky Attack kangaskhan possible to obtain.

2:37 I think it restarted into original Gameboy mode
The entire game has the color sprite of an Egg
Notice the use of only 4 on screen colours
Your gen 3 ruby MissingNo has shiny stars when you sent it out! It’s a shiny MissingNo XD
That's just the master ball
When MissingNo disappeared at 6:30, try moving your last pokemon from party in to the pc, let MissingNo disappear and see if you can just walk away without pokémons
Omg yes please make a video of gen 2 missingno!!

8:20 *Congratulations! You just caught a white square!*
What would happen if you put one of the glitch Pokémon you're able to catch in the daycare with a ditto?
I absolutely want to see this. My wildest guess is that the game might somehow spit out a Ditto egg even though Dittos aren't supposed to be able to reproduce, since the game doesn't really know what to do with the code of the Missingno.

Gear Time!!! Thank you for letting me know 👍🏾
The black and whites missingno’s stats appear to imply that at lower levels it would have negative stats which would probably crash the game
“Did my heracross just- *absorb* it?”
That made me burst out laughing
Payback for stealing his picture
In Gen 2 the game treats encounters with glitch Pokémon like link battles as an error handler, likely to prevent the game from potentially crashing. Also, after attempting to catch the egg, the game restarts in what is called a "glitch dimension" in which the colors are different.
It's rare for me to go ten seconds playing Gold without going into that glitch dimension
when you catch a egg, it goes into what i call "glitch mode" where it treats it like a gameboy color
:)

Not in blue. Red and yellow were ok, for some weird reason. Blue versions would outright brick forever. A lot of people I knew had blue versions and I had yellow, and one friend had red. We tradeded with missing number, and our friends got really mad. Lol 🤣
Missing.no doesn’t corrupt files
He was framed by worn down hardware!
MissingNo doesn't corrupt your file, MissingNo makes it better.

When it said, "waiting", since it thinks you are in a link battle, it waits for the "player" to choose a move for their pokemon. But since it's not a link battle, it keeps saying "waiting"
