I have a 2015 North American Fiat 500 Abarth I bought in 2020. Still in decent shape. It's survived my attempts to mod it within the limitations of my insurance policy. 😁 He's right that it isn't a very good car. You need to pay close attention to the maintenance otherwise you could end up with a catastrophic failure. But when this car's running in Sport mode with both exhausts blaring, it's just an incredibly fun car to drive!
When you want to test some abarths of the right ones, whistle in Italy, there is one with 440hp in map 1 and 505 in map 2, we are talking about a 100-200 in 6,05s .. if you want I can give you the link and contact him, in addition to him there are many with 300-350-400hp, when you want I am at your disposal ..
Hi, had an Abarth 500 for 1 Year and yes, at the beginning the seatng position seems kinda akward, but it is there for a reason. It is more a city / twisty road car, so you have definetly more overview in the city. And i think in that case partically the seating position is just right. It is definetly not a dragmaschine but a dramatic one and i loved it!
@@amadeusturbat8567 honeslty would rather own ur car even if its twice slower in all aspects, i have driven an old abarth 2012 felt all good, positioning did not like it much went bonkers on it took a few turn around my city which i do normally going at 150 170 in rwd cars i own ,,, took with fiat at 120 130 felt terrible and about to loose control on fwd but either than this all my passengers had a good vibe with the car its awesome city car, but it just feels like a golden golf car lol Edit : golf as a club / golf electric car not vw golf lol

People who complain about the seats have no idea what they are talking about. if you lower the seat to the ground you won't be able to drive the car because of the pedal placement, dashboard design etc. You might be able to lower it an inch or two but that's it. This is a FIAT 500 underneath and you can't change the ergonomics without moving all the other bits and that would make it way more expensive to manufacture.
40 years old and amid life crisis! I had the fiesta St 180 in 2015 and missed it since, bought myself a Honda fire blade hrc kids are 6 & 10 got a a class AMG diesel 2.1 YAWN bought the Abarth 595 convertible 2018 kids are laughing in this car wife rolled her eyes! Sounds great and very nippy! I wouldn’t say fast but certainly fun! Imagine a fun drive every time you go somewhere! The Abarth gives you this!
I do own a Fiat 500 Abarth serie 3 and it is so much fun to ride for the city. The curious faces when you drive through the streets with the Akrapovic exhaust system.

My mrs has an Abarth 595, '18 (S4 shape) - it's easily one of the most fun cars I've driven. It's such a laugh - as you say, a smile everytime. It's a turbo-charged rollerskate but I love it.
i think the main problem is that they had to create a base from which they could make both the 500 and the Panda, and that they had to achieve the roundness of the original model, making the roof and dash taller
Dear Max, the Abarth 500 with the small 1.4 liters engine, is a pure fun car, without expecting much. So You love or hate her, because can't be compared to any of the other little hothatches. For me it's a car with separate category 😉
The big yellox part with the scorpion on top of the engine is not the valve cover but rather the stock airbox. It's left there for aestethic reasons since if you remove it you just see the bare engine. That's also why you see two openings which aren't connected to anything coming in and out of it.
I've always thought the stock panel filter sitting on top of the engine is a bad design. I've removed one of the DRLS on mine and have the intake there
I used to dislike this car a lot, I thought it was quite abnoxious and pointless. But I've recently started to like them and I now love the way they look, sound and the point of them. Great review on a great car
The engine area is literally packed, the way how they squeezed the engine under the hood is impressive! I am not sure if is easy to fix for a mechanic if something goes wrong.
My mom have a 500 900cc 2 cylinders (something like 85hp) and it's a lot of fun on small mountain road. So i can't even imagine how this thing can perform on these roads
honestly there is a rental company just next to my house where they rent abarths , this is quite annoying , like 20 abarth that accelerate every day ..
Wanted an s mini but this lil car stole my heart , just so much fun and i love the sound of it. And it’s pretty comfortable i had a 10 hour trip last summer and it was surprising me how great it was, in my opinion more comfortable as the mini s or the bmw 1 series. + you can smoke a gti and surprise some bmws and audis as well:) i will recommend to buy one from a abarth or Fiat directly sometimes they have some models already to buy with a great discount if it sits there for a few months and you have the full warranty as well. Oh yeah and the bigger lcd displays is a must with apple carplay😀
sorry, but the GTI stock says 0-100 in 6.4, this one says on the website 6.7 (stock), so "smoke" is a huge word. Also yes, if someone buys a bmw or audi with the least powerful enginethey can found, you'll probably beat them, but in the end you're still sitting in a minuscole tuna box, while they're sitting in a bmw or audis

and I said the seats are high in my Focus RS. Ford did change it for the later production models and made it available to change out the seat rails for the new lower ones. They are a real must have lol
In Germany Abarths really aren't cheap. I think it's just the lack of space why it has no locking differential. Those cars have soul, either you hate them or love them.
The yellow cover is where the air filter sits. The pipe is missing because the air filter has been attached directly to the turbo hence the pipe is missing from the original intake.where it is missing.
I hate that they are discontinuing the 500 in the USA. I love my Abarth 500 and I wish we could get the 595s here... but unless you drive a truck or big ass SUV then you aren't an American apparently. I live in rural Kentucky and people ask me if my car is a Smart Car lol... I guess because it doesn't say Fiat on it, they don't know what it is.

Way more complex than that, BHP is a measurement of power, torque is a measurement of turning force. BHP is a function of torque at a given engine RPM. Traction, gearing and aerodynamics are almost equally important for high-speed & high acceleration. How the torque is delivered across the power band also is incredibly important. Peak torque that breaks traction is pointless.
I have a normal 500 as a work car and it is absolutely horrible to drive over 130kmh and at any speed in snow. Only place that car shines at is in city, small and nimble and easy to find parking space for.
I’ve owned an Abarth Turismo some years ago. Then a Lancia Delta 2 Hf Turbo. Then a Bmw 325ti. Man ! This little car miss me so much ! This is now a couple of weeks that i’m thinking to sell the Bmw and return to the Scorpion. This review definitively stops me to think and go into action !

I'm 196 cm tall. I'm going to book a test drive for a 2022 595 Competizione to see if I fit. The stock seats are apparently better than the optional Sabelt GT seats that are in the sports pack unfortunately as the bodykit option does look good. But we will have to wait and see, I'm not super hopeful it will work out haha.

But I'm very leg tall, so moving my feet comfortably within the pedal box was not possible, my knees hit the back of the steering wheel when trying to heel-toe downshift, making it practically impossible to do it accurately. I think I need a car that's more leaning back with a longer pedal box for me to move my legs around down there. Best of luck!
Its not for 1.85 large people, it was made for a 1.75 italian pilot, seat positions are like rally car seat positions they are perfect. And the car with only 900kilos and 210hp with just a remap and 30+ NM of torque makes 0 to 100km/hour in 6 seconds, a vw gti weights 1320 kilos and 240hp with a stage 1. Abarth Is pure fun and adrenaline its impossible to drive an abarth without smiling and having fun.
Believe me, when we see a little Fiat with Dutch Licence plates pass us that fast, we are scared shitless 🤣🤣🤣 Only thing missing is a camping trailer lol

You are wrong, typically that has a hose and clamp. It’s because the yellow intake and air filter are aftermarket.

I have the exact same model but with the factory fitted Mechanical LSD and trust me its a must! cracking little cars.

It's a bit tricky just to change the oil filter. And if you ever need to change the alternator, you're in for a world of pain!

If this car has the performance pack then it has a front plate slip differential, they can be fitted aftermarket too, Bacco or Quaife 👍👍
New steering wheel, hub extension and lower seat rails. That’s it, perfection.
Problem is if you lower the seat it makes it more difficult to see over the dash, because its also high. There is no real fix.

Dude that's the air filter housing not the valve cover. The black part is open because the air filter has been replaced with an after market filter.

This is a Competizione, so it DOES have an LSD.
Not all. Only some have a mechanical diff. most have a basic electronic diff which just brakes the slipping front wheel during hard cornering
There is an aftermarket kit that serves to make the seats three centimeters lower...
