That looked a tough one Matt but nice to see you stuck it out and aren't just a far-weather hiker. To be honest that tent did better than I thought, I thought you had only put up the inner part :)
Thanks Rob mate. Haha yeah, out in all weathers 🤣 the tent is decent, made from a dynemma material so pretty strong and very lightweight 👌🏻 thanks buddy, atvb, Matt 👍🏻
Don’t think it was a failure, looks like you’ve pushed the bathtub outside of the fly, probably with your sleeping pad. Easily doable with floating floors.
Oh man this is beautiful. Where in the world is this. Great post and adventure as well. Are you a pluviophile by any chance? Take care and God Bless. 💖
tent is small but beautiful stand near by the river , riverbis so calm beautiful n clean seems inviting someone to taste the to swim sorroundings so lovely
I really love camping like this, how free it is! Most people are so busy with city life that they rarely have time to relax. Do what you want to do while you are young and have time! I appreciate you sharing your videos so that those of us who are busy at work can also experience the life of relaxing visually.
The respect I have towards campers, since I was young my uncle took me hunting went through many life threatening situations even killed a wolf. Taught me the fundamentals of masculinity of not being comfortable which leads to weakness in todays society. The complete serene peace you feel in wilderness is only explained by experience. Now I go alone and it takes balls for everyone that does the same. Love your videos keep it up!
Hi Matt, 77 yr. old Northern Canadian Bruce.== I still truck bed camp in the middle of nowhere.== Rain makes memories stronger. I enjoy your adventure with the freedom of life.
How great it is to be out in nature! It's so beautiful, there's nowhere you can rest as much mentally as in the fresh air, away from civilization. I think everyone would agree with me)
What a great vid but that weather in the morning!! Ugh!! It’s nice when you’re snuggled in bed listening but not so great when you realise you’re in a puddle!! Thanks for sharing!! 😃
Hello Matt, I always find your videos so relaxing. What it is to be young and fit, I remember them like it was yesterday. Where was our beautiful little Poppy, you would have lost her amongst all that fern. Take care of yourself and keep safe lovely man. 🌲🌲🌲
Love the vid..Camping in the wilderness is something that I truly love.My ancestors lived in Scotland..Wallace's.Very beautiful scenery. The rain actually made you vid even more lovely.Thank you..😍
Awesome spot and good adventure bud! Beauty trout that was! Maybe too shallow for fishing in the loch spot? Looking fwd to getting out there again with you 🤙
What a beautiful, solitary spot. So unspoiled! Nice to get a sense of what camping is like when the weather turns cold & rainy. Thank you for the video.
Another great vid pal! Was out out with Ben recently, as soon as the rain hit the tarp I was gone at 9pm, out like a light! Best sleep ive had in years!
What started out as a reasonable afternoon turned into a nasty wet night and morning. But you handled it well and made the most out of a wer situation. Lucky no Poppy along this time with that troublesome leak but we miss her. I'm watching you in the rain and meanwhile we've got major flood problems here. Thanks for sharing Matt. Bushyboy Oz
If it weren't for youtube videos, I'd have forgotten what rain looks & feels like. Everything here in Northern Nevada U.S.A. is all dried up, the ground is hard as a rock. Be grateful for rain whether it's light or a heavy downpour. You are the 1st youtuber I've seen that collect rocks to put over tent stakes B4 starting to pitch a tent same as MEeee. Smart, to have big heavy rocks to put on top of stakes as soon as the stakes have been pounded into the ground, especially if you expect strong gusty winds. I believe a saw & recognized a Soto Windmaster stove with 4 plex pot holder, same as mine. Please, make & model of your tent. I like to pre-cook bacon & cut it into bite size pieces, put them in a ziplok baggie & have them in a pouch in the waist belt of my backpack to snack on & to add to my cooked meals which normally are Freeze Dried Peak Refuel meals. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Love the videos. That setup looks cozy. This body of mine is too broken to try laying on hard ground all night. Thank you for letting some of us live vicariously through your videos....
Looked a wonderful spot Matt, better evening than morning by the video.hope the hike back to car wasn’t to rough for you.Never pleasant when you find small puddles inside tent also.Great watch as always.VBW buddy.
Amazing greens, then the heavens opened! I guess thats why the grass is so green. My son has recently got into fishing down here in Swindon, Its pretty land locked and seems catch and release and fisheries. We have caught a few carp and dace, but I miss catching trout up in Scotland. Catch a big trout in Scotland you have most of the Loch to fight it, catch a big fish in a fishery, it looks like you catch everyones lines! Will check out your link to Rigged and Ready to keep us supplied :)
Love all your videos Matt. Am new to your channel and you make everything look so effortless ( I'm sure it's not). Keep making the videos so you can keep inspiring
Just came across this video while binge watching on youtube. I gotta say it's a really nice video made, simple and very adventurous feeling. Looking forward to see more of your camping ! 👍
Did anyone else think they were going to witness Matt slip off the rock into the water at dinner time? I leave my bloopers in but Matt, well, he’s flawless, thanks for the video bud, I’m now late for work 🤫
Another great camp Matt. Shame about the weather conditions, we have all been there, I remember my first snow camp and the first time using a down sleeping bag woke up soaked! Look forward to your next adventure
Hi Matt, I stumbled across this film and really enjoyed it. Great location for a well put together film all the makings of channel I would want to see more of. Cheers Matt, new sub here!!
Just a bit wet!! Bugga about the leak though, probably a good thing Poppy wasn't with you on this one. I think you caught all the fish in the last few videos! 🤣😂
Haha that’s a grim morning to wake up to! Lovely spot before the rain came though. Shame there were no more fish putting in an appearance at the loch. Great vid as always mate, atb 👌🏼
Looking out from a dry tent when it's heaving it down, knowing you have to leave soon 😢 I bet poppy is glad she sat that one out 😂 Looked like an awesome spot though, perfect when the sun was out 👌
Not yet mate. I don't think it was blowing through tho. I think there must be a hole or tear in the floor somewhere. Going to put it up in the garden next time it's raining and see if I can figure it out 👍🏻
@@ADVENTUREISMADE I did wonder if a puncture in the bath tub and if it is hope you get sorted Matt. You don’t really expect those sort of things to happen with a top spec bit of kit like Zpacks - obvs hope it isn’t a puncture tho. ATB Chris 👍🏻
Haha yeah can't beat it 😁 Decided to leave her at home on this one, mainly as I knew it was going to be difficult terrain on the hike in and with the bad weather too thought it wouldn't be much fun for her. Also with these trips I do to Scotland its a good 3.5 hour drive for us and want to give her a bit of a break from them as shes not the best in the car on the longer drives 😁
@@craigbolton9649 cheers mate, no she's ok thanks. Just noticed she's been getting quite stressed in the car on the longer journeys so wanted to give her a few weeks rest from it. But tbf, she still wanted to come, she knew my bag was packed haha 🤣👍🏻
I think it was probably down to how much rain came down and pooled up on the beach he was on, as he got out of the tent and looked round it looked like a mini rivulet there.
Cheers Andy, no not yet mate hoping to put it up next time we have a serious down pour. I've looked over it at home but can't seem to find an obvious hole or tear yet 👍🏻
Yeah that spot did seem to have plenty of water collect around it with the rain. But the tent is made from a dynemma material, wouldn't expect it to come through the material at all 🤔 I'll have to see if I can figure it out in the next down pour we have 👍🏻
