I don't know how they classified Rock & Roll? I've noticed on the list people who are into pop, jazz, and even discos and yet inducted as a Rock & Rollers. I would say "Grand Funk Railroad" is the true American Rock & Roll Band.
The hall is broken down into 4 categories... Performers, Musical Excellence, Early Influences, and one is given the Ahmet Ertegun Award which is given to a non-performing industry professional who through their efforts, have had a major influence on the creative growth of rock n roll music. The hall's website explains it pretty clearly.

They announced Eminem 2022 is gonna be inducted - so this is not Rock and roll HoF anymore.
Also there still so many bands from 70's who's not there - Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Alan Parsons Project, Emerson Lake & Palmer, King Crimson ,Grand Funk - such a shame.

I totally agree . Dolly Parton she's not even rock n roll she's county. They have their own hall. Why not induct in that.
With the exception of Bread,Association, great list. Leslie West and Mountain, Nugent and more definitely should be in. Madonna, NWA, RUN DMC Tupac, rappers in general NO! NO SLIM SHADY!

sirvió para la creación del Funk rock/Metal algo así, el rap para el New Metal o Rap rock, y el pop pues para que se forjaran el New Wave, Pop punk ect. Yo lo veo así, porque, si nos ponemos a pensar más de uno no estuviera ahí. Para ser rock and roll puro, y ahí nos vamos a topar con: Jazz, Reggae, Ska, R&B, Rap, Folk, Country, Soul, Funk entre otros.
