@No middle Ground 🙃 I already research for each artist or singers are passed away because so sad news about them and also I watch the graveyard of the final resting place of Robin and Andy Gibb, Marc Bolan, etc.
For all of us boomers, this makes us not only sad, but keenly aware of our own mortality. It also makes us thankful that we have countless teen and young adult memories engraved in our minds and hearts because of these most amazingly-gifted humans, who TRULY provided us the "soundtrack of our lives". Thank you so much for including David Cassidy. Many times he doesn't get the recognition that he so deserves. My heart breaks for the loss of all of these musicians. Their music brought me so much joy and I didn't even know that so many of them had passed away.
I agree. I can't believe David Cassidy's face wasn't on the cover of People or any of the celebrity magazines when he died. He was so famous, gorgeous and talented. I'm still shocked that they haven't sold a book/magazine telling about his life and career and family like they did for other stars that passed around the same time he did. He deserves to be remembered in a book all about him, besides the ones he had published before he died. He was a big part of my childhood. When my parents divorced in the 70's, I looked forward to watching The Partridge Family every friday night. Of course I loved the show also. It's too bad it didn't last longer. But I agree, Kathy that he deserves much more recognition, and it can still be done. It's never too late to honor our favorite celebrities whether or not they are still with us. I lost alot of my favorite celebrities in the last 10 years, and it really saddens me. I guess when you turn 60, that happens. But David Cassidy hit me the hardest.

Karen Carpenter was, in my opinion, the best female singer of her generation. Her voice was truly one-of-a-kind. Warm, smooth, sensual and rich. She “sang the song” without using any vocal histrionics or shouting. Her articulation of the lyrics, clear and precise. A very appealing voice that drew you close. Sadly, so many of the people I grew up listening to in the 70s are now gone. There's not a heck of a lot of them left these days. It really sucks to get old.
Karen Carpenter's death still breaks my heart. She had a voice of an angel, and yet she suffered so much behind the scenes. All she wanted was to settle down and raise a family. She didn't even get to do that, but instead her brother Richard lived her dream! RIP, Karen.
I was born in 1960 so all of this music I grew up with . HIV , drug and alcohol issues and for rather a lot of them , cancer .RIP and a special ❤️ for the beautiful David Cassidy who I had a serious crush on
i was 56 and our beautiful david cassidy wasn't even on the goddamn news here in australa,,, NOT impressed AT ALL! and the same goes for Richard Parfitt who passed away before xmas 2019,,,,,,,,,,, that wasn't on the news on tv either : /
OMG all singers that I've heard and their worldwide hits we were growing up with. A perfect clip to commemorate them and those unforgettable catchy tunes ! Thanks for this nice collection, I love it !
Karen Carpenter was not only an incredible singer-she was a very accomplished percussionist and drummer- accually she was bad ass - i don't consider her talent wasted- we are fortunate to be able to continue to appreciate it
Most people only talk about Karen Carpenter's vocals and rarely is her drumming ever mentioned. That shows that her drumming is underappreciated, as she was a great drummer. No less than Led Zeppelin's John Bonham said she was the best drummer in the world.
I grew up with these great singers and really feel my age right at this moment!!. Some of them l didn't even know had passed away. Gone but will certainly never be forgotten....
A collection of some of the GREATEST SONGS of ALL TIME!!! I LOVE THEM ALL! (THANK YOU - May YOU all RIP) You've ALL made This WORLD BETTER with Your Songs
Karen Carpenters voice and songs were a BIG part of my growing up years. I was born in 1960. She WAS and IS my favorite female vocalist ever! Sweet sweet lady with a sweet sweet voice!
I liked her bc I am usually a terrible singer, but I sound pretty good when I sing along w/her - we sing in the same key. I don't know which key that is, but I do sound okay when we sing together! 🤗
Their music will never age them, their music is their gift to us and the memories of their music and their personalities will forever Keep them alive.... thanks to all of them .... we'll never forget them...
R.I.P. to all those artists featured in this video. Your music brought me joy then and I still listen to it today. The lyrics were meaningful, soulful, motivating and stimulating. Thank you all!
Wow, this hit me on so many levels. First, I was totally unaware so many of these great artists are no longer with us. Second, although I knew several of them had passed away, I was unaware they were so young. Third, the fact I have already outlived 75% of them is stone-cold sobering!
@@davidcopson5800 Hard to say. I was just going by what he said. If he meant otherwise, he should have said it another way. Perhaps like this: "The fact that I have lived longer than 75% of them got to live," would have explained it.
So many of these great musicians passed away so young, it seems they have always been here… that they were here a lot longer than they were. They will never be forgotten. We love them. 💗 Thanking them all for making our lives happy & our hearts sing.
Bee Gees and Andy Gibb are the true legacy in music industry. Because the Bee Gees is the one of the 20th Century pop group that's why very talented and even I really miss their funny videos. Andy Gibb is the younger brother of the Bee Gees because his music is very entertaining that's why so sad about him. I like Andy Gibb song "An Everlasting Love". Thank you for sharing this videos and God bless you. Sending love and greetings from the Philippines. ❤❤❤
Billy Preston was such a huge talent, probably even under-appreciated. In addition to being a top session keyboardist throughout the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s, he was a Rolling Stone AND a Beatle. His credits as a guest/session performer are too vast to type here. And on top of all that, he had a successful solo career spanning decades and he wrote, recorded, and produced my favorite song from 1973 that has remained a favorite for almost 50 years: "Will It Go Round In Circles". Take THAT all you Billy Preston under-appreciators!
John Denver's death really shook me. He was my idol. Saw him in concert in 1976 and 1978. I was in high school. What a joy! Didn't matter that I needed binoculars to see him. Poor dad felt so bad he couldn't get closer seats. It was a dream come true to be there. It was far out! I had every record! Then they all warped.
i loved and still do love, David Cassidy, he was 10 years older than me, but, when i was 16,,, he didn't look or act that old. i will always love him, just like all of his fans.
Sammy Davis, Jr.. Because his career spanned six decades we forget that two of his biggest hits (The Candyman and Mr. Bojangles) were hits in the 1970s.
He was one of the greatest vocalists of all time, and it's a travesty that he never truly received the accolades he so deserved. His rendition of "If I Ruled the World" is incomparable (and a timely song that should be listened to by everyone who is so very weary of the state of our country and the world today...it will break your heart).
@@gj8683 He led a tough life, and was subject to the atrocities of the abject racism that enveloped this country during his early life to almost the end of his career. It's especially sad to know that he suffered immensely during his stint in the Army as he served our country during World War II. He was an immensely talented man, who deserved more accolades than he received throughout his career.
'Til my death, I will never get over losing David Cassidy and David Bowie. Loved both for such different reasons, but, imo, two of the greatest male singing voices, ever.
Omg…didn’t know so many of these stars died so YOUNG! Very sad - but sure glad to have this video compilation for memory’s sake. Thank you sooooo much! LOVE IT!
The music industry encompasses literally thousands of professionals over the last 50+ years. The talent and accomplishments of those sadly listed here are unimaginable. Being 68+ years old myself I remember many of the songs that made them famous. There are no promises for tomorrow. Get your priorities straight AND do what you gotta do NOW.
Thank you for this list. It has some of my favourite most loved performers. It also reminds me of how beautiful life was and how much I enjoyed the decades gone by. It's a blessing to have lived in those musical earas. Now I am on the wrong side of 50. All the old songs are on repeat. Everyone please Enjoy your life to the Max. We only live this life once. Lots of heartfelt love. Peace and blessings to everyone.❤️🌹
And that was the best pop music there was and will ever be. It's as if these artists had taken all the talent and inspiration there is to the netherworld with them.
Thank you all you singing artist who were part of my life through music that you created as I was growing up through the years may you all rest in peace
Karen Young, a phenomenal entertainer with an amazing range and beautiful generous spirit, needs to be added to this list of great 70s singers who left us too soon. She had a # 1 billboard disco single and album "Hot Shot," and died unexpectedly from an undiagnosed ruptured stomach at age 39 in January 1991. She was scheduled to appear with Evelyn Champagne King and other top disco singers at the Academy of Music in the spring of 1991 but didn't live to see that day. Instead she was laid to rest in her beautiful dress she'd recently bought for that occasion. Kar could sing anything, especially blues astoundingly well, but she was beyond all else a dear friend, who loved and accepted everyone as they were and befriended them without hesitation. She always brought the fun and made other people laugh and feel free. I still miss her and her kind, loving heart every day.
It is not how we die but how we live that matters. David Cassidy helped so many people in his lifetime. His humanitarian works are so numerous. He was Used by so many but helped others. Gif bless you David. You are peace now. No one can hurt you or cause you pain anymore.
Even if there were some mistakes, I appreciate you putting this together….I grew up with these bands, and this just made me sad! So many people dying so young….😢. Makes me appreciate still being on this earth.
At 56, I landed right in the sweet spot of the best music from before Me and the best of the recent/new songs that would become hits. How grateful I am.

I’ve enjoyed all these Artists .... Being born in the 60s and growing up in the 70s, these Artists were apart of my youth...
Rest in peace all 70s singers. 🙏🙏🙏
Hey Pretty how are you doing? I pray this message gets to you in a perfect state...
Ron Clooney talks about his latest novel, Mr Mojo Risin (ain't dead) ruclips.net/video/W8q0ZjBErB0/видео.html
Sadly, so many of the people I grew up listening to in the 70s are now gone. There's not a heck of a lot of them left these days. It really sucks to get old.
We are all along for that ride. Just think Geo. Washington died in his mid sixties and Abe Lincoln at age 56.
centuryrox I feel the same way too. From 60's soul, to 70's rock, I became familiar with a lot of artist.
Not one single god damn good thing about getting old.
Don’t forget mark e.smith(the fall),and mark hollis(talk talk ),two supremely talented artists.
hey,,,, it's okay, we still have their cassettes, records and c d's .......the bands we love will, always be with us, okay xo
Karen Carpenter's death still breaks my heart. She had a voice of an angel, and yet she suffered so much behind the scenes. All she wanted was to settle down and raise a family. She didn't even get to do that, but instead her brother Richard lived her dream! RIP, Karen.
Yes it was very sad. I remember it well.
She was always an inspiration esp. with her Christmas music. It was sort of majical.
zee
If Mama Cass hadda shared her ham sammich with Karen Carpenter they wooda both been alive today.
@@ekim049 you told that joke on another channel. Go troll somewhere else!
I was born in 1960 so all of this music I grew up with . HIV , drug and alcohol issues and for rather a lot of them , cancer .RIP and a special ❤️ for the beautiful David Cassidy who I had a serious crush on
I saw him first 😁
Did you overcome these health issues?
I had a crush on david cassidy also
I was born in 1960 and I don't remember you being there.
i was 56 and our beautiful david cassidy wasn't even on the goddamn news here in australa,,, NOT impressed AT ALL! and the same goes for Richard Parfitt who passed away before xmas 2019,,,,,,,,,,, that wasn't on the news on tv either : /
OMG all singers that I've heard and their worldwide hits we were growing up with. A perfect clip to commemorate them and those unforgettable catchy tunes ! Thanks for this nice collection, I love it !
I miss those days, people were different, music was great, the clothes the hair styles, It was fun.
So many great voices silenced too soon, yet their work lives on forever. RIP one and all.
I really enjoyed all the music clips. I'm 75 and listening to this took me back to some very happy memories. Thank you so much.
Hello Jamie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
I Love Please Mr Postman
I liked her bc I am usually a terrible singer, but I sound pretty good when I sing along w/her - we sing in the same key. I don't know which key that is, but I do sound okay when we sing together! 🤗
Each year, on the day she passed, I play NOTHING but Carpenters music. Her passing hit me hard, and still does this very day.
Karen was such a beautiful lady. Her voice was angelic in the truest sense of the word. I miss her AND the good old days sooooo much. 😓😓😥😥☹️☹️😒😒😢😢
Such great artists. Miss them all but most of all Andy, Maurice, and Robin Gibb.
Their music will never age them, their music is their gift to us and the memories of their music and their personalities will forever Keep them alive.... thanks to all of them .... we'll never forget them...
Can’t believe Elvis didn’t make the list. 🎤🎶🎼🎵
it's okay Robert,,,, every one knows that we have to wait till August

R.I.P. to all those artists featured in this video.
Me too. The pop music industry is not one that will give you a long life!
ok, so I'm not buying the 75% thing. If you're still alive, you have out lived all of them, all 100% of them in the video.
@@antichrist_revealed I think he means he has reached an age that is greater than the age 75% of these people lived to.
@@davidcopson5800 Hard to say. I was just going by what he said. If he meant otherwise, he should have said it another way. Perhaps like this: "The fact that I have lived longer than 75% of them got to live," would have explained it.
RIP Pete Ham - one of the most underrated songwriters of the 70's. Still enjoying your great music today.
Pete ham coulda been as good as 'the beetles'
So many of these great musicians passed away so young, it seems they have always been here… that they were here a lot longer than they were. They will never be forgotten. We love them. 💗 Thanking them all for making our lives happy & our hearts sing.
We've lost so many talented performers of the 1970s.
Graduated in "77" great times, great music. Miss them all ❤😢
Bee Gees and Andy Gibb are the true legacy in music industry.
@Pen BFDI It's a big Yes, because when Andy Gibb was successful solo artist and he was very talented like his brothers as well. 😊😊😊
Classic !! What a Collection !! Damn; they are ALL hugely missed !!
All part of my youth thank you for the music! Always in my heart and memory..💕💖
'I enjoy listening too the oldies and goodies. Because I hear all the great singers thats gone on. rest in sweet peace.love 💘 forever.
I knew he was considered an unofficial 5th Beetle but I didn't know he worked with the Stones too. Thanks for the info.
Just reading this now, ...John Denvers passing was tragic so sad, he was a lovely kind , gentle man with a voice that could reach right into your soul
@@sallybannister6224 well said.

The 1970s was the best decade for music.
Good music, good memories. Seems like yesterday to me. I am a proud 70's chick, and I miss it!

Awesome walk down memory lane
Such a cast of Great Singers! Some of those were once in a century performers. Brought tears to my eyes.
I didn’t know David Cassidy had passed away. It was great hearing some of my favorite music! Thanks!
Sammy was a very talented singer. Great vocalist.
He was also a very talented dancer and all-around showman. You could tell that underneath his affable exterior was a guy who was tough as nails, too.
@Daryl Wheeler ...Exactly!
RIP Les McKeown (12 November 1955 - 20 April 2021), lead singer of the Bay City Rollers.

'Til my death, I will never get over losing David Cassidy and David Bowie. Loved both for such different reasons, but, imo, two of the greatest male singing voices, ever.
Marvin Gaye hurts, too. He was shot to death by his own father in an argument.

I was into all of these performers growing up in the seventies, There will never be anything like it again.
I recognized most listed & their songs. Thank you for creating this tribute ☺😞
