First actual “Challenge Battle” I’ve seen yet!! That was great!! And as you mentioned, maybe a little easy for the Warband. And actually, that’s been the general consensus about challenge battles??! Makes me wonder what goes on over there in the play testing land at GW?!!
I can see some battle plans where it may be more difficult for the larger warbands, but it really comes down to the action economy. When I can attack 10+ times with a warband compared to the big guy attacking only 3, the big guys gonna have a bad time.
Instead of standing base to base with the whole warband trading blows if the monster uses its movement it could be a close fight. I think the monster has to kite them around the map a bit and pick guys off one at a time. Especially the Cygor since it looks like his big damage ability is throwing the rock from long range. The warband has more actions as a whole but the monster has more actions than each individual so he can bide his time since there is no round limit. Still really cool to see since I have not had the chance to play one of these challenge battles yet. I hope you do another one.
Yeah I have to say, monsters are vastly underpowered, unfortunately. While their offense is fine, they need the following: A) notably more durability B) some way to negate people just kiting them and waiting out their piddly three actions C) movement negation, whereby a monster can fairly effortlessly have its movement disabled and then waste the handful of actions it gets
Great!! Love these batreps, looking forward for more. Question for you guys: monsters can be targeted with "standard" abilities? For example, goblins' nets. Seems unlikely, but I couldn't found any rule excluding them from this possibility. If they actually can, challenge may be broken...
I couldn't find anything scanning through the rules that says the monsters cannot be targeted with standard abilities. So hopefully I didn't do anything wrong!
No, you didn't! I mean, this is a general question, since it's difficult to imagine a movement denial for these monsters because of a small net... Just wanted to check the community's thoughts on that!
@@aleixgagoxirinachs9377 There's nothing preventing you from doing that, and it completely breaks the encounter for people like GG, Untamed, and Splintered Fang. Gargantuan creatures should either be immune to such abilities, or have some resistance to them like a saving throw, or each activation, if affected by such an ability, have a chance of shrugging it off.
Yes I do. Makes for optimal conditions for better editing, and it's hard to convince someone to sit down for 5 hours when a game is supposed to last 30 minutes...
Your content is very good man! Keep it up! This is why I like Warcry!
Love the style of this battle report. Keep on and you will get your fame!Yes!Yes!
Thanks a bunch Andy!

The terrorgheist/zombie dragon scenario is super rough when the monster plays defensively and picks off stragglers. The other ones don't seem too bad

Great vide guys! We haven't used a monster yet, so it was good to see how it plays! Keep up the great work!
Thank ya much!

good stuff, love your videos.
Seems strange the toughness is so low on these monsters.

Welcome to the Action Economy.
Do you play by your self in your videos?
Yes I do. Makes for optimal conditions for better editing, and it's hard to convince someone to sit down for 5 hours when a game is supposed to last 30 minutes...
@@DiceChatter huh, neat! You ever predetermine who wins? and do you paint all of your own models?
I see. David wins with his bolas!
Cygor was so weak.
Chimera is, unfortunatelly, weak as well. You just need to wait for 3 turns and then do as much dmg as you can to lower it's damage dealing stat. :(
