    Jobs is all about money... A career is all about what you want to do or feel proud to do. No one is a nurse for the money when you work 12-14hr shifts with no breaks and you're legally responsible for everything etc, you become a nurse to help people and show love and compassion 🙏 jobs are miserable, a career is fun. I'm seriously thinking about being a PTA and going back to school 👍

    I’m so glad you expressed that you weren’t sure whether you wanted to do it or not! So many of these kind of videos lead to people saying “yes I’ve wanted to do this since I was a child” and it doesn’t help those of us that are seeking a rewarding, decent paying job in the health care work force and aren’t positive about it! Just because you aren’t sure doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea! I originally was going into nursing but decided on PTA instead and I know it’s going to be a great job for when I graduate. Awesome video!

    I am so happy you have these videos. I currently live in Ohio and I have been trying to decide if physical therapy assisting was better for me rather than becoming a physical therapist. I was just like you were, I did not know what I exactly wanted to do after high school. Thank you for making this video! I have gone through the same thing of just wanting to pick something and go for it. I went for broadcasting at first and went through a one year program and realized I couldn’t support myself as well. I have been interested in the exercise science field but for getting a bachelors degree in that it pays about the same as a PTA does! So that’s when I started getting interested in it! My husband keeps on telling me to make sure I like it before I go into it, but with everything you said I agree that if I really don’t like it at least I can still change and do something different while making a good living. And I love working with people, so I think you sold me!

      On the off chance you see this, I’m currently in a similar situation, got out of AD Air Force recently, I was a cop and thought that’s what I’d do when I got out, I’ve changed my mind, but I also love fitness and I know I like helping people, I’m really considering this but I’m still a little unsure, how has it worked out for you? Any input you have would be really appreciated. Also I did 8 years in the Air Force, I’m already 27 now and that’s making me feel the pressure even more.

    Very helpful! I'm 23 and now just thought about doing this. I've been jumping around majors like crazy and haven't figured out what I wanna do. When I got done highschool I wanted to go into PT but found it so difficult. I was nervous if I went down this path and spend all that money/time, I would maybe change half way through. Never thought about PTA until now and how much they made (a decent living). I'm getting double jaw surgery (dental problems held me back) hopefully this summer then after I recover from that, I'm going to finish up my associates degree in allied health. I have about 6 or 7 more classes then I'll have it which will help me get jobs for a PTA position in the future. Your videos helped a lot since you have good points such as if you spend the 2 yrs in this program and come out with the degree, you can always go back. At least with PTA, you'll be okay on your own to back to school if you wanted. Almost a year old video but gave me a good idea of where to go! Thanks a bunch! Hope you're doing well :D

I've seekd out advice and people tell me the same thing..."that wont pay you well" "its about who you know" and i was just soo torn between all of these different majors. I am huge into exercise and taking anatomy and physiology now soon I'll be done with liberal arts and I think I want to give PTA a try...If i don't like it, like you said, it's 2 years versus 4...and not a shit load of debt

    Thank you for sharing this insight. I got a BA in fine art and I don’t think I really want a career in teaching or graphic design which are the most common types of art jobs. I have a teaching position right now but I don’t want to pursue it. I love mentoring people but I hate classroom management. I’ve looked into ultrasound tech jobs which pay really well but I think if I did that I would miss out on working with people one on one which is what you can do by being a PTA. I’m going to check out my community college for more thorough info on the program. Thank you so much again!! :)

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts I been thinking about going back to school I’m 19 and a Certified Personal Trainer I like it but it’s not at all what I expect it’s more of a side hustle then a living and I want to make a living in the fitness industry kinda and PTA just feels like it I’ve seen most of your videos by now and I got to say I love the job the way you talk about it and how it’s like seem simple and good and I like that it’s fun cuz your training and helping as such. Like I been really thinking I got nothing going for me I did want to start my own online website own my own apperal and get great cameras for video recording workouts. And selling like routines and such but I don’t want to work at a warehouse just to make that extra cash to be able to buy the good camera and all the aperal and the good PC just to save up yeah I make 23 at personal training but it’s only like 12 hours a week or so that’s not enough. Etc just want to be an entrepreneur and want to have a stable loving job like this... what are your thoughts?? I want to know what you think

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  5 лет назад

      Well first of all, I'm glad that you are passionate at what you are trying to achieve! I can relate to what you are trying to do though,, I also have a desire to grow an online presence to be able to help people and I still love my regular day job of treating patients. I'm in the middle of my journey with this as well but it excites me to try to take the business to the next level. I think if you continue to work on your side project of video and personal training while you become a pta you might be able to grow and have success with it. But it is a challenge, I started my first videos recording off an iPhone and editing on my phone but I was able to grow enough to buy my own camera and stuff.

    • @santostuner
      @santostuner 5 лет назад

      Antonio Sanson thanks you so much I’m right now in the process of saving money for a good camera I want to start a bit regular not the best camera but I found a decent one for now around 400 so I’m going to start with something simple and basically we both are trying to do the same I have some experience with editing and thumbnail making because I help my close friend do his gaming channel so I’m now in the process of starting my own thing. Little by little but I also want to begin my PTA program I know I can get it done I’m just scared that if I got to drop my full time job and just part time as a personal trainer I can it’s just gonna take a big because I got to be able to pay for most of my course etc kinda like how you did you did the loan and part timed work to get there so I’m trying to do kinda how you did. I’m inspired for what you have done and enjoy your quality videos if I start the program because it’s hard to get into it here at my community college but if I do definitely purchasing one of your shirts PTA one lol for basically inspiring me to do more. Much respect is there any tips on what to do if the course is hard to get into and if the course becomes a full time type of deal I should definitely drop my full time job right? And much love and respect because we have a goal in common.

    20 years old. 2 years right now as an auto mechanic and I’m highly debating career change to pt. It’s everything I now enjoy, and the past year I’ve come to realize that I’m more passionate about health and helping people than cars. Cars and vehicles is my big hobby and passion but as far as a career it’s number my interest making it my job . I loved being a AAA tech because I worked directly with people in need and that was my favorite aspect. Now I’ve accepted that I’m young and can do anything I want and pt embodies everything I want out of life. Fitness, helping people get better, great pay etc and I’ve told myself what do I have to lose... and there’s no real logical answer not to pursue this

It will take two years instead of 4 ish. I plan on applying to the PTA program next year. I am 26 with a 7 year old daughter and a fiance. (Getting married after 9 years in Vegas this summer) so I can't stay in school for a long time. I need to start a career. But I am pretty sure I will love this :)

      Good luck getting a full time job with decent benefits. Medicare cuts have devastated the inpatient, and home care settings for PTAs. Medicare is only paying 85% of what a PT can bill for in outpatient clinics.

    Hi Antonio! I just subscribed your channel. I am a house wife. I been leaving in US for 7 years. I was struggling can’t figure it out what I want to do and what I want to be. Because, I want to do something and improve myself but I just know myself I love to help and take care of people. Now, I can figure it out want to be PTA and going to application PTA programs soon. Because , You are encouraged me to do what I want to do. I am 41 years old. Do you think I am too old to learn this program?? Thanks so much for great video. Hope you are well.

    Did you ever think about furthering your education with physical therapy and becoming a PT? Are there any majors that you suggest as an undergraduate before PT school? Coming straight out of high school, you've truly inspired me to pursue becoming a PTA and possibly a PT! Keep up the good work!

    • @AntonioSanson

    From a career aspect 30 years ago this was a good move but with the market getting saturated with more and more schools unfortunately the job window has gotten smaller. There are many PRN and home health jobs available but those aren’t necessarily consistent paychecks. If your looking to make a living I would look at your market near your area. This may not be a good move for many people.

I just feel like I won’t be happy with that and idk I just feel really pressured to decide what I really want to do. • @AntonioSanson

      ThatGuyFerny I’m just curious, if you already plan to switch over to go into to physical therapy then why spend time and money going into criminal justice?
      It’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out yet man, the important thing is to just keep taking steps forward to progress. And eventually the more steps you take the more you will understand if you like the career you are in or not.

    Or nursing. That it be a good fit for me.
    I been thinking maybe I should go back to school for it and try this major out. It seems really interesting. To be honest im kinda shy and been this way almost my entire life lol but not as much a I use to. Would it affect me if I get into PTA.. like I'm unsure of this job but I think I want to try it out. Hey Antonio, great information in all of your videos. Do you currently have future plans to transition to a dpt? Also, how long have you been a pta? I'm looking into both but leaning towards pta. I currently am not 100% sure what I want to do long term so I feel it would be smarter to start as a pta (less expensive and less schooling) instead of diving in head first and spending way more time and money on the dpt. Thanks

      Afra I think its still possible to become a PTA. I feel like the hardest part for you will be making it through the program because your not the best at English. However, if you finish the program I believe you could still make a great PTA because you can demonstrate the activities you want the patients to do and communicate in a different way like that!

    This is a lot later then the video was posted but I'm hoping you'll see it...I've been looking into becoming a PTA recently but I have discovered that PTA and OTA's payment will be reduced or perhaps jobs lost because of the Bipartisan Budget Act in 2018 about Medicaid Services. Do you know about this? What do you think? I was really bummed to discover this. I am an creative person (theatre major) and have done many things but I wanted to find something more permanent with a good job growth. This research led to the medical field...gulp...I"ve never wanted to enter the medical field. But then I started to look into therapy and really liked the sound of it. But I am concerned about policies changing and the future job market in this field. Sorry for the long comment, but what do you think?

    I am interested in becoming a PTA..i am very indecisive like you were mentioning. I started Nursing school but it didn't pan out like what I had hoped and I had to back track and "start over". So right now it is either get an associates in nursing or do PTA. I was super stressed out all the time at my university and I cried way more times this past semester than I have ever cried about school. Do you think you can give me some advice?

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  5 лет назад +1

      I can relate to the feeling of being stressed so your not alone! What motivates you? Why do you want to work in either of the fields?
      I think figuring out what it is you actually desire and what your interests are is the first part, if you can find purpose in what you do I think you will feel fulfilled.
      Once you can narrow down your passion and what you think you might enjoy then figuring out a step by step plan to do what it takes to graduate and become what you are looking to do is the next step.
      but its okay to make mistakes! don't feel pressured to meet someone elses standards, just do the best you can.

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  6 лет назад +1

      tigerkenshi it depends.
      Like if you are starting from scratch and don’t have a bachelors or anything then it will take you a while before you even get to the PT program so hopefully by then you would be more comfortable with studying and tests and all that.
      And you can always start at the pta program if you are nervous and then you can alway transition to a pt program later and then the PT program will be easier because you will already have a lot of experience.
      Hopefully that helps some!

    • @AntonioSanson
      @AntonioSanson  5 лет назад +1

      It depends what you want to do and what your plans are after you graduate. If you just want to work in a regular clinic or hospital or nursing home then you would probably be better off just going to PTA school. Also if you go to PTA school first you can always get a job and work as a PTA and then decide if you want to continue on to get your bachelors in exercise science after. Because once you go through the PTA program you might gain credits towards your bachelors degree in exercise science.
