Oh, marvellous! It’s on my plan for...2026. Thanks for this wonderful videos from Camino San Salvador.
That's an amazing stage. My kind of routes 🤩🤩🤩. That's why this year on the French Camino I did Dragonte Route, instead of the usual stage heading to Herrerias. And if all goes well next year I'll be there also: Camino Lebaniego->Camino Vadiniense->Mansilla de las Mulas->Léon->Camino San Salvador->Camino Primitivo->Melide->Fisterre 😊
I walked the Dragonte route on my first Camino, and I really loved it! Not a commonly traveled path… if you liked that, you’ll love the San Salvador!
I am so jealous right now! I walked this stage, like, four days before you and apart from the beautiful climb to the cross I was in a cloud and then in such thick fog and heavy rain I actually took the busy road down from the pass to where the camino goes off the road and splits for pajares. Definitelly telling me to come back (but come on!).
the views are incredible!!!
Wow. Spectacular views indeed. Thanks!
The views were so amazing, I could walk this stage over and over and never get tired of it!
What a stunner of a stage! It actually looked more like hiking than walking in some parts. Being a big fan of mountains, that was probably the best-looking landscape of any Camino videos I have seen!
Yes, I agree- these stages definitely feel more like hiking than walking!
Fabulous scenery!
It was just breathtaking!
Oh, yes!! The perfect view's from San Salvador! I walk to San Miguel, and more in that day. But it was just amazing! Thanks for the remembering 😊
One year I’ll have to walk to San Miguel to see what that’s like…
I love your music choice 😊
Thank you!
Fabulous, thank-you
Beautiful day!
Absolutely amazing, it must have been awesome to be alone in that space and landscape.
Yes, it really was!! So much beauty at every turn :)
Thank you for sharing. What scenery there is to be had. Glorious vista's.
Glorious is the perfect word!
Aye, this one was certainly a stunningly picturesque route. Adventure on and Cheers!
It helped that I had perfect weather for it, too!
I would be freaked out at the gate with all the arrows. Did you go through??? I making notes!!! BTW are you Canadian??
What a stunning walk, glad you took the time to enjoy its spectacular beauty.
As a solo traveller do you ever feel unsafe, there are various stories around about isolated strange happenings ?
I greatly admire your adventurous spirit and abilities on the tough terrain.
Cheers🇦🇺
I’ve very, very rarely felt unsafe, and always try to listen to my intuition. Overall I find the Camino to be a very safe experience for a solo female; that being said, bad things can happen on the Camino, as they can anywhere. But luckily these incidents are fairly rare! And generally there are enough other people around to help, to look out for you, etc.
The best yet! Do you have the entire route documented somewhere?
Not yet- I’m going to keep posting my daily stages here, maybe afterwards I’ll make one video for all the route, we’ll see!
Loving the videos Nadine.. will be there next week and am now convinced day 3 should "just" be to Pajares so I can take the time to enjoy the scenery on the way. Just wondering where you ate and was it ok?
Hi Phil, I hope you have a wonderful time on the San Salvador, I'm sure you will! It's such a great route :) And I think a shorter stage to Pajares will feel just right (plus you can enjoy the beauty of Pajares, too!). The only dinner option in Pajares is a meal at the Pension El Mirador, not far from the albergue (the pension has rooms, too, which would be another option for accommodation). You'll need to reserve your meal at El Mirador, and I sent them a WhatsApp message the day before to ask about having dinner there, and it worked out fine. Some pilgrims also reserved lunch, but I was carrying enough supplies to just have a picnic lunch on the way. Good luck and Buen Camino!
Hi i have walked the Primitivo out if the 2 which one was the best im thinking of doing the Salvador Is it as hard as the Primitivo going on your video the hills look more beautiful and impressive on the Salvador ???
I think a couple of the stages on the San Salvador are a little more challenging than the Primitivo (but not TOO much more); one of the more difficult things about this route is the lack of services and the need to plan ahead to make sure you have enough food, or to reserve meals in bars (at times). With a little planning it's a very, very do-able (and beautiful!!) Camino!
realmente no son lobos, son vacas con sus perros (mastines) pastando en la peña cerca de poladura y villamartin
This is such a beautiful Camino so far. Loving watching . Are you actually on it now in the month of September. The weather looks fabulous
I was on it back in July… though I think September would be a beautiful time to walk!
@@NadineWalks Thank you. I’ve just come off the Via Francigena and am looking for another Camino for next year. This one looks so good, I like that it’s not too busy. Love all you videos, very inspirational. Happy Trails 🇦🇺 🦘
Those are definitely wolves. I lived near that route many years ago and you could hear them howling at night. My great grandmother used to tell stories of climbing trees to get away from them. Or maybe they were cows, but wolves sounds more exciting.
A few people suggested to me that they may have been cows, but my gut tells me that there was no way that cows could have gotten up there and would just be hanging out together, looking down and watching. I'm going with wolves! (definitely makes for a better story to tell family and friends back home, too) :)
If it were only possible to "Like" a video multiple times I'd be smashing it until my fingers bled. I'm looking forward to this trip.
What a nice comment, thank you so much! And I’m looking forward to putting the videos from the other stages together… it’s a way for me to relive this great walk!
How many fields does a pilgrim have to walk through before their fear of pastured animals maybe chasing them goes away?!
Haha...although wait until you see my video about an encounter with wild boar (not at all an unreasonable fear there!)

Pretty sure those “ live wolves”. We’re actually cows! 😂
Maybe?? But would they be up on the rocks? I’m going to let myself believe that they were wolves!
@@NadineWalks lots of cows up on high rocks on Norte and in the Alps, but wolves are much more exciting 😂
