I came out a few weeks before this came out, (pun intended) and it was an awesome movie. I rarely cry but I did when I saw what a beautiful film this was. (I’m so heartless I didn’t cry when my mom and grandpa died...)

The thing that i really love about Love, Simon is that Simon had open minded family and kinda supportive environment around him (like there are no anti-lgbt law or anything like that), yet it's still not easy to come out. Because oftenly i saw people talking about "What is really hard about coming out?". Well, for some people it's really a big deal. And it's not cool to force someone to come out, it's their right to decide when or where they will do.
this is EXACTLY what I loved so much about the movie. This small nuance made it feel so much more real & relatable personally to me. Thanks for bringing it up!

Jacy _1419 yes i get that and some may say double standards but i think her logic was that there are gay actors some of the questioning may be does he think someone else should have been playing the role
Well of course it's not weird for gay actors to play straight characters, many/most have done it for a lot of their lives after all.
Found that an odd question as well as he had just said how he had decided he was done playing high school/teenage roles, but got this script and decided to do one more. That right there shows, to me at least, he had no hesitation to take on this role.

Jacy _1419 I was disappointed in this movie, partially because of the unconvincing performance of Nick Robinson. They could have found dozens of other actors who would have been more suitable for it. One thing that ruined it for me was when Mr. Robinson gave an interview with the L.A..Times, reminding the writer that he's not really like that and he was afraid of doing that kind of role at first. To good actors like William Hurt, Ed Harris and Dennis Quaid, it didn't matter to them when they played characters who were gay and they all gave fine performances, with William winning a well-deserved Oscar.

This was the movie that I needed ten years ago when I was a senior in high school. So grateful for the work that people are doing in this space. It gives one hope for the future.

IT IS AMAZING!
I just saw this movie a few days ago and it was honestly one of the best films I've seen in a long time. It is such a honest coming-of-age story and the acting is phenomenal. The fact that a major film studio has brought an LGBT film to screen shows how much we have progressed as a society and it's so amazing to see. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone.

You know, when I start to like actors, I immediately search their names with "on ellen" right next to it. It's sort of a thing that I do just to know them even better. When I first admired this actor, it was quite insane that he has never been on Ellen Before. He has starred on many high grossing films and I think he really deserves better than this.

I loved this movie! I didn't expect to wallop me when Simon (spoil alert) had that living room moment with his mom. HOLY! It took me back to when I came out to my mom who sadly passed six months ago. I was like feeling her right there with me in the theater again. I truly loved watching this film and planned to see it again soon.
The movie is so beautiful! I watched it twice in one day. I cried and felt every emotion possible! It's a kind of movie that you can watch over and over again without getting bored! (Which I'm going to do)

I adored this film and became a huge Nick fan since watching it. After watching his recent project Maid, I’ve been astounded by his diversity and acting abilities.
You also should watch A Teacher on Hulu. He was incredible in that miniseries too. He is sooo underrated. He deserves an Emmy nomination for his performance in Maid.
