Great video, I was taught to shoot squared up. I feel it's putting unnecessary tension on my shoulder. Will definitely try this out coach!
You were right, being 10 toes to the rim and being 100 perfect squared creates tension, creating that "chicken wing" elbow fare.
I thought I understood basketball as someone with two coaches for parents. your channel has helped me grasp things I never knew existed!! thank you
The song that is in your videos is ingrained in my brain.
Haha - you're not the only one 😊

I think you have one of the best basketball channels out there!💥
When I was in school we were not even allowed to shoot without being squared up, no joke
coach frikki your job is amazing!
All the respect
ive learned a lot because of you, thanks!
3:44 😂🤣
Did no one see coach frikki put in cousins airballing a three im livid 😆
Please more videos about shooting.
Planning on doing so. Anything special you'd like to see?
@@CoachFrikki Handles and lay ups. Thanks
@@CoachFrikki how to fix a two motion shot pls🙏
Do a vid on the sweep and sway
Ayo coach frikki the shi🔥🤙🏽
There is no perfect way of shooting, its on where your comfortable

If players square up to the rim when catching the ball, they normally turn in the air.
This a jewel💎
Yeah this is so important
4:58 🐐 😅
Very helpful
Glad it helped. How are your feet when you shoot?
@@CoachFrikki valgus with my dominant foot slightly ahead but not tilted if you get what im saying.. Your position seems more pragmatic thou.
I like your video do release point
The next one. Please explain about 'thumb flick'
Curry in his masterclass said u should be squared up. Imo if u squared up ur accuracy become better but naturally u always gonna turn so u just got to find that perfect amount of turn wich is in between squared and turned state.
Hey Coach, could this be applied to a right handed shooter who is left eye dominant?
what's krazy is klay thompson was teaching the square to the basket method despite also turning his feet.
I find it necessary to line my shot up using my hip/right leg. stays consistent qhether i catch and shoot, or shoot off the move. I'm no pro, mind you, but I have wide shoulders with average arms and that square shit made way too much tension
There is a reason why there is players and there is coaches
i see u Barack
lol
shooting 3s and turning his feet
Obama’s a green bean🥵
Is this applicable for mid range/post shoot/ fadeway too?
Of course why wouldn't it be?
Remember to not turn them too much though, that really messed up my jumper for a while
thank u so fucking much i had a good shooting form even if everyone told that i dont
DIDNT EXPECT MVG TO BE IN THIS VIDEO HAHAHAHAHA
The last group seemed to still need to rotate after they left the ground.
I have a question about my jumpshot. Whenever I shoot, my wrist flicks outward instead of straight. Any tips that can help?
Shoot close shots and tuck your elbow to the side when you shoot
Flick the wrist down that's it
Flick the ball mostly by the middle and point fingers, have the wrist parallel to the ground at the release
I do that already this guy laughed at me but i make them
I do this on my jumper, but I really notice it when I go to the free throw line. I can't square up to the line/goal. The shot feels awkwrd for me. I need to be turned to the left a little bit.
Turning definitely makes your shot feel more natural for a lot of hoopers.
Too many old school coaches out there trying to coach it out of their players.
@@CoachFrikki I agree! I remember when I was younger, my coach was adamant about 'get your elbow under the ball! get your elbow under the ball!"
Of course, I tried to shoot that way, but it felt like everything was being forced into a position. Everything was tucked when it didnt need to be. I spent a lot of time working on my form to where I can see where people are "not confortable".
I also see coaches telling their players to keep the ball up and dont start so low in their shot flow.
Again, it feels less comfortable when I start at my chest (unless I need to, I practiced that shot as well) opposed to starting near my waist then rise up.
@@aaronjay9325 theres some videos about that "dip" and how it creates rhythm. It's useful to be able to shoot both ways, but if you drill it enough itl be quicker than defenders can consistently stop(imo)
demarcus missed tho
I mean, if Obama does it...
