I'm shopping also. One thing I like about this boat is that, for its length and weight, it has the most stuff you need. Its shorter (than some) length means cheaper when staying at marinas which charge by the foot, and less weight means better fuel economy.
Yes! Great point, Brian. I think the goal is the least length/weight that will do the job (in comfort for a year). There's a pretty big difference in 42 and 52 feet!
Don't forget about hot water heater size. We have a 41' Carver and have to take quick showers, or shower at seperate times.. Bigger the better in my book!
Only guessing but we’d think they’re not all that important. We hope to be in good weather for the year (if you time it right). The beauty is that if it’s a rainy day, you don’t need to go anywhere. Just wait it out. We also have a boat with non-functional wipers now in a very rainy climate and don’t have any issues.
@@onFIREfamily Also watching WhatYachtToDo and Sam runs the wipers often. It’s not so much for rain though. Travel when it is sunny. Even on a 50 they get salt spray that makes it hard to see.
Good point! And now that you mention it, he totally does use them all the time! And that’s on the flybridge helm (not a lower helm)! Guess wipers are on the must have list! Thanks!
So glad you aren't "favoriting" this thing. It's a service nightmare... thing about this- the sea water pump rubber impeller is a regular maintenance item. Starboard engine? No problem, it's on the inboard side! Keep in mind the engines are about 20" apart so if you are a skinny person it's not "THAT" big of a deal. The port side? HA HA HA! The generator is directly in FRONT of the engines, dead center! To change the impeller in the PORT engine RW pump, you have to either be really really small and thin, OR... drain the cooling system. Remove the expansion tank, and heat exchanger assembly from the port engine, THEN you can get your hands in there and REMOVE THE ENTIRE PUMP. Why? The impeller is driven by a square key. If you are not watching, the key will squirt out and fall in the inlet hose. On the stb engine you can see if it's in place. The port you are working by braille. Therefor pull off the entire pump and put it on a bench, replace the impeller, and re assemble everything. I can do the stb pump in about 40 minutes and the port takes about 4 hours. Oh they don't put a pump out hose on the marine gears so therefore nobody ever changes the oil thus trans failures. Try servicing the batteries or worse yet replacing all the batteries once they die because they were run out of water... please please do not buy a 420AC unless you want to shell out the bucks every time you need to employ someone to do basic service!!!
YES!!!! Thank you so much for pointing these things out! This is the stuff unsuspecting buyers miss in their search process that will lead to heartache and expense. Appreciate you watching and commenting!! 🚤
Yeah. Agreed. We’ve got a video coming up on that but the Hatteras and Californian are probably our favorites so far. Really prefer the older boat styling. May not be good for resale after the loop but it’s what we like. 🤷
Y'all are awesome. Hey, I'll take that one. It's just me and I like clean clothes.
Ha! Love it! Cheers!

Very good point! With 4 of us, I can see showers after a swim, etc. being an issue!
How important are "windshield wipers " for a loop boat? Noticed this one didn't have any, would that restrict your travel days?

You guys didn’t seem very excited about that one....
Of the boats you’ve reviewed so far which was your favorite?

A Sea Ray. Market is flooded with them. Cookie cutter boats. Lots of bling and ZERO Quality. Be very careful.
Yeah, it’s not really our style either but had to look at one since so many people swear by them. Thanks for the feedback!
