I have neck pain! All caused by Toyota's active head rest. Active head rest itself caused me injury.

@jeffliou733 the neck is not meant to rest at a forward angle like the head restraint forces. This causes bad posture and long term pain for those who have pre existing neck issues

And what if the headrest can't go low enough and thus your ear is always below center? Driving hurts, that's what. Car manufacturers have got to petition NHTSA to allow for lower head restraints and/or allow for restraints with adjustable tilts. The simple way to put this is: In a rear-end collision with existing regulations and my height, my neck will re-herniate and the consequences could be equally as dire as that of whiplash. Meanwhile I either have to use unsafe (non-secured) seat additions or suffer muscle spasms. Driving now SUCKS. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THE DECISION FOR WHICH INJURY I RISK GETTING.

Oh, and thanks for letting me know about active headrests. They sound completely terrible and now I know to avoid them!

exactly....why are these safety regulation jackasses dictating how I protect myself in my car? People want to be comfortable when they drive...this is so illogical....I'l take my chances with the whiplash.

One beef I have with the active headrests is I can always feel the pressure plate pressing against the small of my back. The pressure plate makes the seat so uncomfortable, I’ll be removing the plate. Good idea, but poor execution.

Bruce Dahms Were you not able to test drive your vehicle before you bought it so you would’ve known how uncomfortable it was before buying or did it just recently start to be uncomfortable gradually over time?

This thing contributes to neck injury. why don't Toyota just listen to customers? when I was a child, my dad had a 1985 Toyota Crown with adjustable head rest. Nowadays, I have a 2016 Camry with injury inducing head rest!

"designed to reduce the POTENTIAL for whiplash".....in doing so, creating uncomfortable headrests that causes bad posture and gives people neck problems. Does toyota ever think for 1 second....maybe us CONSUMERS want to be comfortable when we drive???

I hate these head rests. I always gave a headache because they forced my neck to bend forward because of thre garbage, nonhuman-shaped design

Horrible design. Rather than being such cheapskates you could have used your brain and fitted either an adjustable head rest or a comfortable active headrest (like Mercedes-Benz). Also, your stupid parking sensor penny-pinching makes the front and sometime even the rear parking sensors completely useless - a car needs a minimum of 4 parking sensors front and back to work as advertised.
